I'm not exactly a Hamilton fan, but it isn't all his fault (despite what Alonso fans claim), because here is yet another blunder...:

The F1 Safety Car (SC) features a light bar on its roof with both yellow and green lights; that green light is specifically there to signal that the driver directly following the SC is cleared to overtake. Once the race leader is right behind the SC, the yellow lights go on.

Objective assessments? The guy messed up, even if he didn't mean to. Everyone knows what the penalty for that is. He took it. A penalty isn't just losing one or ten positions; it's a drive-through. We all know how many laps that takes, and the duration of the penalty wasn't any longer than the average. If he managed to pull that off without losing ground, kudos to him. End of story.

Webber isn't pointing the finger at Kovalainen, but he did mention the guy slowed down about 80 meters before the actual braking point... 😁 There's a massive difference in stopping power between that Lotus and the Red Bull... ☕

Webber is just being an idiot, no question. He’s got a race car that's 5 seconds faster per lap, yet he's driving like he's terrified, struggling even to catch a slipstream or find any momentum. 🤦

Simply put, he was terrible. You can't blame Kovalainen here; the guy just wasn't himself today. Maybe he got too cocky after the Australians crashed out and forgot how to actually drive. 🤷
