Anyway, did we even manage a single fast break today?

Hardly. We certainly didn't.

But let’s be honestβ€”if it hadn't been for those biased officials calling the game, things would have been incredibly intense. We would have absolutely crushed them and walked away with πŸ™

They basically stole β˜•
from us.

Agreed.
The Americans played fair. They were physical, but that's just how finals go.
There's nothing left for them to claim after a robbery like this.

I saw it coming from the jump when the ref suggested the player wasn't faking it... every single controversial play we protested, he called in their favor. He was surgical about it, too. I mean, you can't call every single garbage play like that, especially when the game is decided by a mere two or three points. If anyone thinks this was fair, they clearly don't know a thing about basketball. Then there was that foul by ČupiΔ‡, followed by that two-minute suspensionβ€”you just don't pull that in a championship game, especially at the end. You try to de-escalate first, maybe give a warning, but instead, he just flashes the two fingers and hands out the red card? Who wouldn't lose it when it's a two-point game, then a ball hits both the hand and the thigh, and instead of getting us a fast break, we get a red card and a technical? To top it off, the official is swearing in American, while that biased hack keeps chiming in using Tamil alongside it... it's a total robbery, yet people still debate whether it was rigged or not. And when it's a clear penalty on a push right at the end, nothing happens. Or that two-minute penalty on the shooter who wasn't even close to the guy who went downβ€”meaning the ref didn't see a damn thing, but since he's Danish, he decides to bench our guy right when the score shifts at the end of the half. Just a perfectly executed heist in gloves. Regardless, hats off to our guys. If they had pulled this off, it would have been a genuine miracle. If those few shots were in when we were down by two, we'd be celebrating right now, despite the idiots ruining this beautiful sport.

That's exactly it.

Anyone who doesn't see it is either blind or malicious.

Jonathan Reed4 said:Man, I really feel like the refs screwed us on that championship run. Why do I get the feeling the Americans are actually the better team?

Maybe it's because the officiating totally screwed us over by a few points?
As for your second point, maybe it's because you’re just a bottom-tier troll and a provocateur that the mods let run wild for reasons I can't even fathom???
Just go away, go scrub a toilet, or something. Go do something useful for once. You absolute troll.πŸ™‚

Man, it just didn't happen. Huge congrats to Denmark on a well-earned gold medal; they were clearly the best team out there throughout the whole tournament.

But seriously, hats off to our guys too. Taking silver is a massive achievement, though it’s honestly pretty hard to watch how some people are acting right now (looking at you, Pero...).

Btw, I get the feeling we actually played our best when they benched Lin van. πŸ™„ And yeah, Vukica’s shot did hit him in the leg.

Well, I guess this is just our day to settle for second place. It’s like watching Ingemar Stenmark struggle through a combined run. 🀷

Jeremy Phillips54 said:They are. To be more precise, they were just way more prepared, which isn't surprising given they have 14 players who can all step up, and they didn't get absolutely dismantled by those French Armoires.

But honestly, it feels like we just fold whenever there's a trophy on the line. And today? They completely choked under pressure. Anyone who actually follows sports knows what kind of mental block that looks like.

And looking at the facts, we’re just too clunky, too slow, and frankly, not enough. If we had entered those final two minutes down by one and facing a penalty instead of being down by three and facing a penalty, I'm really not sure how that would've played out. And that's even without counting those two goals they wiped off the board. Even if the penalties stayed the sameβ€”and let's not even talk about that infamous foot playβ€”it wouldn't have mattered. Not to mention how they were slicing through the defense while the refs seemed totally blind to their offensive maneuvers.

Better my ass.
When the game was on the line, they were stuck playing 6-on-5 the whole time, giving up goals that the refs then overturned, or missing passes that the refs handed right back to them.
And when even that wasn't enough to save them, the post and the crossbar did the job.

What is the Danish coach thinking? After finally getting his shot with the women's team, he’s now been handed the reins to lead those blonde boys, and he seems absolutely thrilled about it. 😁

Give me a break...πŸ™„Let's just pin everything on the officials, shall we?
We were playing like we couldn't hear a thing, especially in the second half. It wasn't just Balica having an off night; nobody was finding their rhythm. πŸ™„

Huge congrats to our guys. They absolutely left everything out there on the court.
Now, look, the refs can be total jerks, but that’s always been the pattern; every single time we make it to a final or some high-stakes game, we end up getting robbed by the officiating. It’s honestly pathetic because we aren't some tiny, insignificant countryβ€”we are freaking Olympic and world champions.

Anyway, did we even manage a single fast break today?

How are you supposed to run a counterattack when the refs hold the ball for a few extra seconds every single time they're about to lose it? It happened multiple times in a row during the second half, all thanks to their left winger...

I mean, fair enough... even without that garbage, it’s nearly impossible to outrun the fastest squad in the championship. And it’s freaking impossible when the goalies aren't making any saves. We basically handed them 50% of their fast breaks right after Hvith made his stops...
