Can anyone out there actually tell me what the deal is with the surgery and the recovery process?

It started with sudden pain, then bleeding, and eventually it hurt so much I couldn't even sit down. I picked up some cream after talking to the pharmacist at Walgreens and followed a pretty strict routine: washing several times a day with lukewarm water—never cold—and applying the cream more often than the instructions suggested. I also cut out deli meats entirely, sticking to just fruits, veggies, and plain boiled foods; basically a light diet. Most importantly, though, I stopped sitting all day at work. I set my laptop up on a dresser in my office, which helped since I'm lucky enough to work alone, and I avoided sitting at home too. I mostly stood or laid down. After three weeks of misery, everything cleared up. Now, I just stick to lukewarm water and make sure I don't sit for too long. It was a really uncomfortable experience.

I tried all the creams and ointments out there, but nothing worked. Eventually, I just said "enough is enough," grabbed a razor, and gave it a little shave. It bled quite a bit, but the hemorrhoid was gone. Sure, it hurts a little, but at least it’s over quickly.

Hi there, I’m 22 years old and currently dealing with a recurring hemorrhoid issue. It’s something I first encountered back when I was around 17 or 18, and at that time, the main issue was just the pain. Eventually, things seemed to settle down—the discomfort subsided for a few years and everything felt fine. However, about a week ago, without any clear trigger or obvious cause, I started experiencing significant bleeding during bowel movements. And by significant, I mean it happens every single day since then.
The strangest part of this whole situation is that there isn't actually any pain involved. My stools aren't hard, my digestion feels perfectly normal, and everything else seems fine—but every time I'm on the toilet, the second I hear that sound of blood hitting the bowl, I know exactly what's happening...
Has anyone else dealt with this specific scenario? Specifically, why would there be bleeding if there is absolutely no pain? And more importantly, how can I actually fix this?

I'd really appreciate any help or advice you all might have...

My apologies, I completely missed that thread—it actually felt strange that there wasn't anything posted about this yet, but I clearly haven't been searching thoroughly enough...
I want to thank the moderators for moving this post, and my thanks go out to everyone who has shared potential solutions here; perhaps I might find a way out of this situation myself as well. 😉

Honestly, this belongs right in a book titled "The Bloody Tales of Little Ivica"—and I definitely wouldn't recommend trying any of this if the hospital is more than a couple of blocks away. Anyone who’s actually seen how much blood sprays when one of those big ones bursts can only laugh... though, I guess everyone has their own way of doing things. Maybe the moderators should pull this post before someone actually loses their mind and tries something crazy!

P.S: I heard about one guy who actually tried to cauterize himself with a desk lamp...

Even thousands of years ago—back when people couldn't even read—they were inventing remedies to find less painful ways to deal with illness. This method you're talking about... I'd call it nothing short of sadistic. I mean, man, where does an idea like "just cut them open with a razor" even come from?! I don't get it—what is the point of a doctor then? Someone who performs actual surgery to remove them, leaving you with weeks of pain? And you just... slice it yourself, live, with a razor, and suddenly the pain is gone? Hmm. Maybe I should go visit some doctors and show them how it's done, since they clearly don't know!
No, but seriously—was it actually like you described? Did it really just heal up easily, and—goodness—are they truly gone now?

Nicole Ramirez6 said:So, about a month ago, I noticed these little bumps forming around my anal area—sort of round, whitish skin buildup... I went to see a doctor, and they told me it was just a fungal thing, specifically Candida, so they prescribed a cream. I’ve been applying it twice a day for a week now, but honestly, I don't think it's doing anything at all. It isn't white anymore; it's more of a reddish, skin-colored tone now. I also noticed that one spot bleeds a little sometimes... and now I'm starting to worry—is this even fungus? Is it normal for fungus to bleed, and how long am I supposed to use this cream before things clear up? OR ARE THESE HEMORRHOIDS? HOW DO I TREAT THEM? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Well, in my case, I went to my doctor and told her I thought I had hemorrhoids. She examined me and insisted they weren't hemorrhoids but warts, then gave me a referral to a surgeon to have them burned off. I went to the surgeon, and he takes one look and tells me they aren't warts at all—it's just something caused by hard stools, and it'll go away once my digestion is regular. Since then, "that thing" has actually gotten bigger, more painful, and started bleeding during bowel movements. Now, I'm not stupid—I know what hemorrhoids are because my mom has dealt with them for half her life, so I'm well aware—but after those "gentle" examinations from the doctor (which actually hurt more than the hemorrhoids themselves!), I just don't dare go back. Instead, I'm just applying everything and anything, washing according to instructions, and praying to God they just disappear. The point is, it’s incredibly easy for even your own doctor to have absolutely no clue what they are looking at.

I thought I should weigh in here as someone who is personally dealing with Grade II hemorrhoids. After seeing how others have handled things, I’ve decided to follow the lead of Jessica Grant56. I'm essentially drafting a non-aggression pact with my own body—trying to maintain some kind of peace treaty for as long as humanly possible.
I find that taking 2dl of Donat Mg works best for me right after lunch.
2. Baby wipes - the final touch
St. John's Wort oil (Hypericum oil) – take this twice a day. Just a quick word of advice from my own experience: please don't bother ordering it online. I've found that the prices online are significantly higher than what you'll find locally. I actually headed down to my local Walgreens today to pick some up, and it was much more reasonable.
If you're looking for a natural way to get things moving, I’ve found a simple remedy that really works: dried prunes. My approach is pretty specific. Every night before bed, I take about five dried prunes and soak them in a small little bowl of water. Then, first thing in the morning, I eat them on an empty stomach. If you stick to this routine consistently for about a month, you'll find that everything just starts to regulate itself naturally. It’s a gentle, steady way to help your system out without needing anything harsh.
The hemopropin ointment supplement will be arriving shortly.
I’ve decided to completely cut out dry-cured meats and all other types of salami from my diet. Every once in a while, I might indulge in some local prosciutto or a good quality sausage, but generally, I've moved away from them entirely.
For dinner tonight, I’m keeping things relatively light but nutritious. I’ve been leaning toward combinations that feel balanced and easy on the digestion. One option I've been enjoying is a bowl of kefir paired with two teaspoons of ground flaxseeds, perhaps served alongside some seeded bread. Alternatively, I might go with a fresh cheese dish—just a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese mixed with a tablespoon of flaxseed oil, then topped off with some dried fruit or maybe a bit of honey for a touch of sweetness. It’s simple, but it really hits the spot when you want something wholesome without feeling overly heavy.
I tend to go easy on the milk—either just a splash or nothing at all. I usually only have it if I'm mixing it into my coffee.
I’m eating everything right now—just a word of advice to watch your salt and pepper intake.
Hygiene... It’s one of those fundamental topics that people often overlook until things actually start going wrong, isn't it? When you're dealing with these kinds of issues, maintaining a strict, disciplined routine isn't just about feeling clean—it's a critical part of the recovery process and managing discomfort. I've found that being meticulous about daily care can make a world of difference in how you feel overall.
I've been taking about a 150mg dose of Vitamin C lately. Honestly, if I actually managed to quit smoking, there wouldn't be any limit to how much my health would improve.
I have a question for the group. I’ve spent quite a bit of time reading through this entire forum regarding H. I actually went as far as transcribing everything that has been discussed—all the different ointments, various antibiotics, surgical options, you name it. It spans about nine pages worth of information. Would it be helpful if I just copy-pasted all of that into a single message? I thought it might save everyone else the trouble of having to hunt through all these threads to find the details.

I’ve got three hemorrhoids, by count, but honestly, sometimes they act up like I have a hundred.😠

My bowel movements aren't really an issue; I think it's just genetic since my grandma, my aunt, and my dad all dealt with this too, so I guess it was bound to happen to me. About 3 or 4 years ago, I had them "burned off" using a laser treatment, if that's the right way to put it, but to be perfectly honest, I didn't notice much of a difference.🤷
I can't say things are better or worse, but I've heard there's an option where they give you an injection directly into the hemorrhoid. Has anyone here ever tried that?🙂

For those of you struggling with constipation, senna tea and oatmeal are actually great. My mom eats oatmeal every single day because she deals with really tough stools, but somehow, even at 50, she hasn't had a single hemorrhoid in her life—despite the chronic constipation.😕😕 😕

I wouldn't say I'm in constant pain, but it's more of an itchy, stinging sensation. Since they are internal, I don't even know what they look like, but I'd really love to get rid of them because I'm planning on getting pregnant soon.😉

Jessica Davis66 said:The proven solutions like Hemoroidin capsules or the latest Pilex versions can be pricey, but...

Could someone please explain how these medications actually work?
Do you need to take them on a continuous basis?
Does this actually solve the issue permanently, or should I just take them whenever symptoms flare up?
And finally, is their main purpose to prevent things from getting worse, or could a flare-up still happen despite taking them?
Thanks so much in advance🙏🙏🙏

Here is a little something from my previous posts:
"After trying every cream under the sun, Ultraproct suppositories (for internal use) were the only thing that helped. Finally, after about six months, I'm not feeling much pain and the bleeding has stopped. The thing is, the instructions say you shouldn't use them for more than a month, so I'm stuck on what to do next."

Regarding Pilex—it’s a natural herbal treatment, essentially a multi-step regimen (roughly around $200); honestly, looking at the feedback on this forum, there seem to be more people reporting increased bleeding than those who found relief. I'd suggest trying it only if you've run out of other options.

As for Hemoroidin by Encian:
The composition of Hemoroidin is quite similar to Detralex, though it's worth noting that each capsule contains about half the active ingredients compared to what you'd find in Detralex...
It can be used as a dietary supplement to help strengthen blood vessels, particularly the veins.
Just keep in mind, this is all based on what I've gathered from discussions on this forum; I'm certainly not a doctor.

My dear friends,

I have been reading through all these posts regarding these hemorrhoidal issues, and I must say... I am genuinely enjoying them. Why? Because I finally got rid of mine. That pain is GONE, and they have vanished—hopefully for good this time. It was pure misery, truly. I’m not one for exaggerating, but I have never experienced suffering quite like this before. For about five months, my life was completely upended by hemorrhoids, and let me tell you...
Every time I went to the bathroom, I would pray to God that the pain would be minimal—not just during the act, but for an hour or two afterward. But after that? HELL ON EARTH. If I had to go around 8 PM, there was no sleeping until 3 or 4 in the morning. I found myself cursing everything: my genetics, the light diet I had started eating, every single ointment and cream I bought, the suppositories for internal relief, the teas and oils for external issues—you name it, I tried it. Nothing worked. I would toss and turn in bed, trying to find a position that offered even a second of relief, but the pain just wouldn't quit. I’d lie down and it would kill me; I’d stand up and it would stop, so I couldn't sleep a wink. On my stomach it hurt, on my back it hurt less... it was AGONY. I was walking like a man with a limp, tears actually welling up in my eyes, unable to think about anything else. And then... along came the heavy hitter, the Himalayan PILEX 400. $167(I picked it up in Canada for 9.3 miles) because I honestly didn't believe it would work and didn't want to waste money, but if I had known, I would have handed over two paychecks for it! It is impossible how everything disappeared in just five days!! It's a combination of some strange herbs I'd only ever heard mentioned in relation to rare orchids. Just try it. When it comes to your health, spending 400, 500, or 600 bucks $3333 is a small price to pay if it means being a normal human being again.
p.s. I am not some undercover shill for this PILEX, but honestly, they should build a monument to it.
Good luck to everyone out there!!

What's gotten into you, Jessica? It feels like you aren't picking up on the jokes at all. Or maybe you're just having one of those days where you get a bit prickly when things don't go exactly your way. If you actually have some new information to share, please do, but let's try to keep the personal attacks out of this.

Hey there!

First off, I actually had to laugh out loud because I just realized I’m posting in the Women's Health subforum. My bad—just your average guy over here! hehe

It looks like I’m dealing with the same old issue everyone else seems to have. Every now and then after using the bathroom, there’s blood on the paper—bright red, but nothing excessive. This has been dragging on for about a year now, and I’ve finally connected the dots: it almost always happens after the weekend when I go a bit too hard. My lifestyle is pretty standard—I work an office job, which means I’m glued to my desk for about six hours a day. Diet-wise, I eat pretty well; plenty of veggies (my mom still insists on cooking everything from scratch), soups, meat... I’m definitely not a big sweets person. However, I drink a lot of coffee, and as I mentioned, I indulge on the weekends with beer, wine, or the occasional shot. I’m also an avid mountain biker, though I haven't noticed any issues while I'm out on the trails. The weird thing is, I don't really have any pain. There’s just an occasional sting here and there. Looking at the outside, everything seems fine. I used to have one tiny lump near the anus and one larger one that felt like a pimple, but that smaller one cleared up after I used some Faktu ointment. Honestly, at this point, I’m not even sure if what I had were actually hemorrhoids... But the bleeding? That part is very real. And again, no actual pain, neither generally nor during bowel movements.

My bathroom routine is actually pretty consistent—I'm hitting it twice a day like clockwork, once right after I roll out of bed and again after lunch. Everything comes out with the right texture, too; nothing painful, just quick and easy. The only time things go off the rails is after a weekend spent drinking. Once the alcohol kicks in, my system goes into overdrive and I’m running to the restroom way more often than I’d like. It’s like my gut gets completely irritated; that’s when the bleeding starts. And it isn't always immediate, either—sometimes it doesn't even show up until a day or two later.

What am I supposed to do here? Just keep using some random "anti-hemo" cream? It feels like running in circles.
I was catching up with a buddy of mine who works as a pharmacist, and we got to talking about Pilex. He took a long look at the ingredients list, and while he mentioned you could technically whip up a similar homeopathic herbal blend yourself, he strongly advised against playing chemist at home. Basically, don't go messing around with those kinds of DIY concoctions.

Has anyone actually used Pilex before? Honestly, I don't care about the price tag if it actually works—I'm willing to shell out the cash. I think I’m probably looking at the basic version, though; my symptoms aren't exactly catastrophic yet, so I don't need the heavy-duty stuff just yet.

Any help is more than welcome—I'm looking to prevent this thing from happening in the first place, not just deal with the fallout after the damage is done! 😛

thanx

I’ve scrolled through this entire forum, end to end, and honestly? Not one single person has actually told me if they ended up going under the knife to just get the whole thing cut out surgically. And seriously, what kind of absolute nonsense is it for them to hand out a yellow card like that?

Forget the yellow card...😛, I'm also curious about surgery...specifically laser treatment...has anyone here tried that newer laser method for hemorrhoids lately?
