From what I've been reading, it seems like the laser just cauterizes everything, whereas my situation requires the old-school way—you know, a literal knife, man. They claim the laser is a permanent fix, but honestly, it's just frustrating as hell.🤷

It feels like you're totally missing the joke—either you're just having one of those days, or maybe you're just a bit prickly when things don't go exactly your way. If you've actually got some new info, please share it, but let's not start jumping down people's throats over nothing.

Now, who exactly is jumping at whom? I'm not sure here. I took my response as a way of agreeing with what you said about not attacking anyone—unless that wasn't how you intended it? You made a great point, and I was just backing you up... I guess besides using scalpels or lasers and all that, we can try to coexist. Is that what you meant?

Look, you aren't really going to "prevent" it... If you lean over, it’s going to happen—you might just delay the inevitable if you're careful.
People seem to rave about Pilex. Honestly, though, I think most of them are just "newcomers" to this whole ordeal—people who are just starting to deal with these issues. Maybe it works for some "younger" crowd?? As for me, my experience with Pilex (and let me tell you, I’ve been dealing with this issue for 30 years now—we have a very complicated relationship!) was nothing short of a disaster. Unless the Chinese manufacturers were just selling me flour, the effect was absolutely zero. To make matters worse, I dealt with quite a bit of bleeding while taking it—which, frankly, almost never happens to me otherwise. Plus, the irritation was a bit much, unless they're adding some magical herb from the peak of the Himalayas or something... It's pretty obvious there are no refunds, and they don't even care about the "failed cases." So, between the rare successes and the massive failures, the takeaway is: it's hit or miss depending on the person. You're left facing the problem of dropping hundreds of dollars for a result that's basically a zero-percent chance of success.

Has anyone here actually gone through surgery for an anal fissure?
So, I thought once they drained my perianal abscess, I was finally in the clear. Boy, was I wrong. This fissure has been kicking my ass for almost 7 weeks now, and it just won't heal. I went in for a colonoscopy—everything looks fine up higher—but they're giving me grief over "just" some bleeding hemorrhoids (they can't even decide if it's grade II or III) and this damn fissure. At this rate, it's looking like it’ll turn chronic, which means surgery is probably on the horizon. Because of that, I need to do my homework and figure out where to get this handled properly (ideally getting both the hemorrhoids and the fissure dealt with at once).

Thanks in advance.

Regarding those injections someone mentioned, I have to say they were actually a pretty common method about 20 years ago, though I’m not entirely sure if anyone still uses them today. Essentially, they just block off the vein that's swollen and causing the hemorrhoid, and that's that. The procedure can be a bit painful, but it was effective back in the day. Not many doctors performed it, though. I remember hearing that a specialist in Sarajevo used to do it—Dr. Zorka, I think, though I can't recall her last name—and people always said she was a genius. That said, I've also heard rumors that the method was eventually abandoned for various reasons. I need to check with my wife about it, so if I find anything out, I'll let you all know...

Back during the war in the early 90s, I was stationed out in the mountains near Papuk. It was freezing, temperatures constantly dropping below zero with biting winds... honestly, if it hadn't been for the conflict, I wouldn't have spent even thirty minutes out there.

Fast forward some time later, and the hemorrhoids started acting up. The military doctor used to prescribe Fakto cream quite regularly; I'm sure I had plenty of that on hand back then.
The issue would flare up and then subside for years, right up until last Christmas when things became completely abnormal. I've tried everything—colonoscopies, various doctors, different creams, pills, changing my diet, lifestyle adjustments, you name it—but nothing really worked.

On March 24th of this year, I underwent surgery. I'm not entirely sure which specific method they used, as I haven't received my discharge papers yet (I'll have to check on that). My doctor mentioned that the procedure went very smoothly and everything proceeded according to plan.
The recovery process has been incredibly painful. I just had my first major bowel movement today, and let's just say... you really don't want to hear about it!
It feels like the pain is slowly starting to ease up, though. I'm needing painkillers less frequently now, but it's still quite intense.

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this same experience.

This whole mess started five years ago. I kept ignoring it—classic mistake—until about two years back when the bleeding got so bad I ended up anemic. That caused a massive domino effect: heart issues, skin problems, breathing trouble... basically, my body was falling apart. After running some tests, they diagnosed me with both external and internal hemorrhoids, grades 2 and 3. They recommended surgery, and thank God I actually listened. I had to do two procedures—first the internal ones, then the external ones a month later. Spent three days in the hospital post-op; the pain was pretty intense, but nothing a few pills couldn't handle. A little discomfort here and there, three weeks of downtime, and honestly? It feels like my life has been upgraded to a premium version. So, if you're sitting there with grade 2 or 3, don't be stubborn. Don't waste months messing around with random therapies, weird meds, or herbal nonsense. Just see a doctor and get your life back. It’s been two months now, and looking back, I can't believe how stupid I was to put this off for so long.

Man, good for you... seriously. Mine aren't quite that intense yet, but they definitely bother me. I'd love to just get it over with and have the surgery. Could you give me a quick rundown of the whole process? Like, from the first doctor's visit until now? You can even DM me if that's easier. thanx

help!!!

I dealt with my first bout of hemorrhoids yesterday (1), so I immediately went out and picked up some Preparation H! Now I am wondering how long it will take for them to clear up—is it going to be five days, or more like a month?

Uh... well, it could clear up in a few days or take a month... man, once you're dealing with that, it’s such a pain to get rid of....🙄Just keep applying the cream two or three times a day and stay on top of your hygiene...

Thanks, it looks like I’m going to become a regular here, 😢
I’ve been washing myself like crazy using the coldest water possible..
Now there's one more thing I'm curious about: that little damn thing, does it actually burst or just retract?

One more thing though—that little damn hemorrhoid, does it actually burst or just shrink back down?

Don't go using freezing water... stick to lukewarm, or maybe just slightly cool rather than hot. That's what worked for me. As for the hemorrhoid, it shrinks back down. It doesn't really "burst" unless you're pushing yourself way too hard, but since you're a woman, that's likely not an issue for you. Everyone reacts differently to these things, though. For some, it clears up in a week and stays gone. For others, it disappears and then keeps coming back. In my case, it goes away, then flares up again whenever I'm working heavy shifts or dealing with the cold. Honestly, I'm looking into laser surgery because dealing with the inflammation is just exhausting. Glad you found a good cream; that honey-based one is solid, I use it too. Also, try using wet wipes after you use the bathroom. Cut back on the soda and red wine (I love red wine, but I had two bottles out last week and it was an immediate disaster). Stick to more soup, and don't sit or stand for too long without taking breaks.

Figured I’d chime in too...

A few years back, I dealt with that external stuff for the first time. It was a pretty miserable experience, if you know what I mean.
I tried that propolis cream people talk about on this thread and some cream from Walgreens, but they didn't really do much. On the other hand, a local formula from Walgreens that has a bit of an anesthetic in it worked wonders.
Then, six months later, the whole thing happened again. This time though, I actually did my homework and realized how much anal hygiene actually matters. I read somewhere that using regular soaps down there is a bad idea because the pH is all wrong. I looked around for a specific soap we could get here and found Apple by a manufacturer called Dove. (They have a version for vaginal hygiene, too).

Ever since I started using it regularly after almost every bowel movement, nothing has popped up for several years.
At the start of this year, I ran out and couldn't find any more to buy, so I foolishly went back to using regular soap—and lo and behold, that crap showed up again. 😢
Is it a coincidence? Who knows. I’d say it isn't.

Anyway, I grabbed more Apple and that cream, so hopefully everything stays fine. It’s not quite as intense or painful as it was last time.

By the way, you can find Apple in certain pharmacies. It used to be at CVS, but I haven't seen it on their shelves for a long while, and I feel awkward asking the clerks if they still stock it. 😁

Oh, one more tip—when you really have to go, just sit, squeeze, and poop. 😬 Don't spend thirty minutes sitting on the toilet reading the news, because you're just putting unnecessary strain on your butt for no reason. 🤣

I'm looking for anyone who's actually gone through this exact thing—please, share your direct experiences.

I'm heading in for surgery tomorrow. Reading this post has me pretty spooked, but I've got no choice—I can't wait any longer. I've been suffering for years and I just have to grit my teeth and get it over with.

Wishing you the best of luck!!

Once you've recovered from the procedure, I'd suggest looking for some pain relief right away. Maybe watch what you eat, too; I mostly stick to liquids. It feels like the pain isn't quite as intense as it used to be. I usually take some Tylenol for the discomfort.
Let us know once everything is behind you.
Best regards.

I interpret my own response as a way of backing up what you said regarding non-aggression—at least, that was my takeaway from your point. You put it perfectly, and I just wanted to validate that. Beyond the idea of using scalpels or lasers for attacks, there is always the possibility of coexistence. Is that what you were getting at?

I really do think so. Based on everything I've observed through my experiences on various online forums, it seems much more productive to look out for them and offer support rather than resorting to weapons or technology.
As the old saying goes: this is just my personal opinion, and it shouldn't be taken as gospel by anyone else.

MrBeast As I was reading through the discussion earlier, I noticed something that really struck me. It’s one of those moments where you realize how much our perspectives can differ based on our own lived experiences. I found myself sitting there with my coffee, just reflecting on the points being made, and it felt like we were touching on something much deeper than just the surface level of the argument. There’s a certain weight to these conversations when you stop to consider the implications for everyone involved. I truly believe that if we take a step back and look at the broader context, we might find some common ground that hasn't been explored yet. It isn't always easy to navigate these topics, but I think it's worth the effort to be thoughtful about it.
Hello there! How's everyone doing today?

First off, I had to take a second to laugh at myself once I realized I was posting in the Women's Health subforum. Here I am, just an ordinary guy, stumbling into the wrong section. My mistake!

It feels like I’m dealing with the same issue everyone else seems to face eventually. Every now and then, after using the restroom, I notice some blood on the paper—it's a bright red color, but nothing excessive. This has been going on for about a year now, and I’ve started to notice a pattern: it usually happens after the weekend when I tend to indulge a bit more. My lifestyle is fairly standard; I work a desk job, which means I’m sitting in front of a computer for about six hours at a stretch. Diet-wise, I eat pretty well—lots of vegetables (my mom still insists on cooking most of my meals), soups, and meat. I’m not much of a sweets person. However, I do drink quite a bit of coffee, and as I mentioned, I tend to have a few drinks over the weekend—usually beer, wine, or the occasional shot. I’m also an active mountain biker, though I haven't noticed any discomfort while riding. The strange thing is that I don't really have any pain. There’s an occasional stinging sensation, but there's nothing visible on the outside. I did have one small bump near the area once, and another larger one that I originally thought was just a pimple, but that smaller one cleared up after I used some hemorrhoid cream (Faktu). Now, I’m honestly not even sure if what I had were actually hemorrhoids... but the bleeding is definitely happening. And again, there’s really no pain involved, neither generally nor during bowel movements.

My bowel movements are generally quite regular. I make it a point to go twice a day—once right after I get up in the morning and again following lunch. The consistency is usually just right; nothing feels uncomfortable during the process, and everything stays quick and efficient. The only exception is after a weekend spent drinking. When I indulge in alcohol, things tend to speed up a bit more often than usual. It seems like my digestive tract gets a little irritated from the booze, which leads to some bleeding. Interestingly, it doesn't always happen immediately; sometimes the irritation shows up a day or two later.

What should my next move be here? Should I stick with this "anti-hemo" ointment for now, or is it time to switch things up?
I was catching up with a friend of mine who works as a pharmacist, and we ended up getting into a deep discussion about Elon Musk. He actually took the time to look over the ingredients and the specifics, and while he suggested that you could potentially craft a similar homeopathic herbal blend to achieve a comparable effect, he strongly advised against trying to mix those kinds of chemical concoctions on my own. He’s always been one to play it safe, and honestly, I think his caution is well-founded.

Has anyone here actually used Elon Musk's stuff? I’m honestly not worried about the price tag if it actually delivers results. Based on what I've been feeling, I think I’d be a good candidate for the basic package—the more affordable option—since my symptoms haven't really reached that extreme level yet.

Any bit of advice is welcome—my goal here is prevention, not just treating symptoms after they arise. 😛

Justin Bieber

Here are some experiences I’ve gathered from the forums:
Since Tylenol is classified as a medication rather than just a basic supplement, you technically need a prescription from your doctor to get it. However, in practice, you can walk into almost any pharmacy and pick it up right off the shelf. It’s pretty rare to find a pharmacist who actually asks to see a script for something like that.
And besides, there aren't really any major contraindications or anything to worry about. You shouldn't feel like you have to be fearful of taking it without a prescription.
When you're dealing with an acute flare-up of hemorrhoids, I've found that following a structured dosing schedule really makes a difference in getting things under control. Typically, you'd start with a more intensive approach—applying the treatment twice a day, using two applications each time, for about four days. Once the initial inflammation starts to subside, you can scale back to applying it twice a day, using two applications, for another three days. After that phase is over, I usually transition to just once a day, using a single application, as a preventative measure to keep things from flaring up again. It’s all about that gradual step-down to help the area heal properly.
It’s only been a few days since things started settling down, and I've noticed that the bleeding has completely stopped. Everything seems to be receding and healing up nicely.
One of the best parts about this is that you don't have to deal with any of that messy application process. Honestly, having to constantly smear stuff on or deal with residue isn't exactly practical, and it’s definitely not convenient when you're on the go. This just makes life a whole lot easier.
🙂
Honestly, if you’re dealing with hemorrhoids, those specific tablets are absolute lifesavers. My routine was pretty simple: I took one in the morning and then another right before my main meal. They really seem to tackle everything at once, helping with both the discomfort and regular bowel movements. I noticed a visible difference after just a few days. My advice? If your symptoms are relatively mild, don't overdo it—once things start feeling better, wrap it up by taking them for just another three or four days, and you should be good to go. Also, if you prefer something a bit more natural, look into Hemorest. They have similar tablets that are plant-based, and in my experience, they actually work even better.

Of course, that covers all the essentials too: staying on top of hygiene, avoiding anything overly spicy, and keeping the alcohol intake to a minimum.

HEY EVERYONE, THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT. I JUST GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AFTER FINALLY GETTING THOSE DAMN HEMORRHOIDS OPERATED ON. MAN, I'VE BEEN SUFFERING WITH THIS FOR TEN YEARS STRAIGHT—TEN YEARS! I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO, BUT HONESTLY? I'M JUST GLAD THAT NUISANCE IS FINALLY GONE.
THE SURGERY ONLY TOOK ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. THEY DID IT UNDER LOCAL ANESTHESIA—YOU KNOW, THAT SPINAL BLOCK WHERE THEY INJECT YOU IN THE LOWER BACK AND YOUR WHOLE LOWER BODY JUST GOES COMPLETELY NUMB. THE CATCH IS YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO LIE FLAT FOR 24 HOURS UNTIL THE ANESTHESIA WEARS OFF. WELL, OF COURSE, I WASN'T LISTENING. I GOT UP IN THE EVENING TO LIGHT A CIGARETTE AND TOTALLY WRECKED MYSELF. I spent the next two days dealing with a massive headache just because I didn't stay in bed like I was told. But today? Today I’m feeling way better. Honestly, the pain wasn't even bad enough to make you want to die. My surgeon in Naperville, Dr. Miller, was absolutely fantastic—the guy really knows his stuff. Plus, the nursing staff there was incredibly sweet. 😍😍😍👍👍👍

Could someone please shed some light on what might be going on here...

To be specific, over the last week or so, I’ve noticed a small growth right at the anal opening. It's about 0.5 cm in diameter, and there's something hard inside... and it actually moves... It isn't inflamed and doesn't cause any pain, per se, but it's definitely uncomfortable because it feels like I'm constantly sitting on a little marble... 🙂

On top of that, about 5 cm away from the anus on the right side, I have this tiny little lump under the skin. It's also quite firm and shows no signs of inflammation (it doesn't bother me at all), but if I press on it, it turns a bit bluish, though it remains very hard.

Thanks.
