Michael Lee4 said:None... I've never even been banned from a forum. If I actually messed up, I’d get the hint. Nobody ever had to spell out the rules ten times for me to figure out what's allowed and what isn't, or why.

But man, you have to realize you're constantly "messing up" even to this day!

The last thing I remember was that nasty attack directed at Frank Collins85 🤮
It was deleted the next day. If those moderator powers can do that, could you
bring that post back here to this thread?
Do you really think regular users get punished for stuff like that?

Well, there's a saying for people like you... but I think I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Just admit to Michael Lee4 that you're in the wrong; it doesn't cost you anything...

Carl Davis said:Eh, I don't really agree with how this poll is set up... I actually voted for "YES—I agree, I just can't deal with Stinger anymore"—which, honestly, isn't even necessary to state... Look, it's not like I'm fundamentally against Stinger if he actually changes up his ways, and even his role as a mod isn't totally out of the question, but... if he doesn't change, then he really ought to be replaced, because otherwise, what's even the point of having this thread?

But why would they change?

The way things have been handled lately is the best indicator of how they'll be handled tomorrow...

Or, to put it simply, a leopard doesn't change its spots...

You have to admit, Michael Lee4, since there isn't anything remotely intelligent on TV anyway, this thread has done a pretty good job of filling up your evening...

In my book, Mr. Stinger is one of the best moderators on the entire site.

Sure, he’s got a bit of a unique style, but at least he isn't two-faced like some other mods.

I don't know him personally, but he seems like a genuinely decent, straight-shooting guy.

Exactly, bro. And trust me, you're gonna get him—and not just him. You'll have Mr. Brazil too, plus those two guys who people say they are, but maybe aren't anymore... It'll all work out fine.

Look, I’ve got nothing against Michael Lee4. I actually caught a warning from him once, but honestly? I had it coming. I wasn't following the rules, and the guy just did his job. So what now? Am I supposed to go start insulting him or hunt him down to settle some grudge? No way. I messed up, and I took the hit. That's that.

My two cents is that Michael Lee4 is actually a solid moderator, so I'm voting for him to keep his position. That's all I've got to say. I cast my vote, and now I'm out of this thread. Peace!

Alright, here’s a guy who can't stand me. We’re constantly at each other's throats, arguing about everything under the sun. He’s easily one of the most penalized users on this site—and he had plenty of reasons to be—but even after getting hit with a permanent ban once, I still keep him around for one specific reason.

Unlike most of you lot, despite all the constant attacks on me and everyone else, the guy actually knows how to write a high-quality post. Plus, he never whines when he gets a warning because he knows exactly why he earned it. It's not exactly a virtue, but I respect it.

Dammit, my dinner's cold now, and my girlfriend just slammed the apartment door. Looks like I've got a long, exhausting weekend of apologizing ahead of me... Plus, she used some vocabulary I'd never dream of using on Reddit. 😁

He's your guy. And honestly, I could swear it's fine—at least he's not Brazilian or whatever. My bad if I'm not using your native language... who cares, really? You guys never cared about American issues anyway; probably only would have if it were just those two, CDRW and Wonders. Actually, Woder did say something about it once..🙂

Michael Lee4 said:Just one request to start: read everything I've written, and I mean everything. Thanks.

Oh God, here we go again... First off, I haven't been a moderator nearly as long as you think—it's barely been over a year. If you really believe I deleted anything in that chat you're talking about, feel free to reach out to any admin to check; they can see everything.

You figured it out the second you noticed the topic was gone. Honestly, I think it happened the same day. It’s exactly what I told you back in our PMs, and it’s what I’m telling you now. The Mercedes vs. Benz thread was only pulled because they nuked that other chat—the one about women drivers or whatever it was called. I didn't kill it immediately because I completely forgot it even existed, but once the trolls from that deleted thread migrated over to "your" chat and started acting up and making a mess of things, it had to go.

I don't know how else to break this down for you. If you still don't believe me after what I said in my PM, there's nothing left to say. Honestly, it's insulting that you won't take my word for it and keep twisting my facts.

Kind of true... I’m capable of communicating normally, but once I have to repeat the same thing ten times because someone just isn't getting it, that's where it ends. I don't know how you guys handle those situations, but personally, I only see two possibilities: either you're trying to push my buttons, or there's something broken "under the hood"... and either way, you're getting a reaction.

Sure, you’re on this site 24/7, so you think you see everything I do—who I message, who I warn, what I write before you even step in. But you don't have the full picture. Claiming you won't act because you're afraid of handing me a warning like you did to me is just nonsense. You gave me two warnings because I was trolling, plain and simple. The sheer volume and reasoning behind everyone else's warnings speak much louder than my two.

Just do me a favor and read what I wrote earlier on this thread. If I say I didn't even enter the thread, then I didn't. I don't jump into every single discussion; I'm not on here 24 hours a day, though I am pretty active during the time I am. Again, if anyone had actually reported the issue, it would have been fixed immediately.

I’ll ask you again: go back through my posts and find any proof for those claims. It would be pretty weird if I were biased toward certain brands when I don't even work for the two or three major players on the market. I’ve been doing the same job for ten years, and it has zero to do with cars.

I’ve commented on design plenty of times, and there’s nothing wrong with that. The issue is when people start critiquing someone else's taste. That inevitably leads to bickering, then full-blown fights, and eventually just straight-up swearing once a bunch of random forum trolls jump in to stir the pot. That’s exactly why I try to shut those arguments down immediately. If someone can't wrap their head around that and thinks I'm just attacking their favorite brand, I honestly can't help them.

I’m too attached to this forum to leave over nonsense like this. If the majority decides (and I know who I'm talking about) that it's time for me to go, then I'll leave—at which point I won't need moderation anyway. But as long as I have to deal with trolls and idiots, I'm fine staying.

The poll isn't public because I didn't set it up. Ask the author. My guess is it's to prevent people from just signing up repeatedly to skew the results. I'm not saying that's the reason, but it's probably not as big a deal as everyone is making it.

No clue how long this thread will last. Things move slow because a few people feel the need to repeat themselves constantly, which brings me back to my original doubt: whether someone is just being provocative or if there's something actually wrong "under the hood." 🤷

That’s exactly the kind of response I expected from you—vague, undefined, and loaded with subtle insults while dodging direct questions. Are you planning on running for Congress or something? If so, maybe just leave us alone?

You’re also shifting your rhetoric and basically talking to yourself. You wrote that you only deal with the old-school users, including myself, and that if one of us asked you to leave, you would. Yet now you're limiting your scope to certain users after I—and not just in this thread—explicitly asked you to go.

You claimed you're too attached to this Reddit community—which, in my opinion, is a TOTAL LIE!
You're actually just too attached to your own ego, which gets its full expression here, since in real life you probably spend all day saying, "Yes sir," "Yes dear," or "Whatever you say."

You accused me of trolling. Honestly, I don't even know what that's supposed to mean, but even if we assume you're right for the sake of argument—as an old-timer here, I find it much easier to just get hit with a straight ban rather than having someone PM me: "Hey man, sorry, I deleted a few of your posts because you were trolling, no hard feelings, see you on the other platform, just don't do it again." That is the difference between a quality moderator and someone like you.

I'm only using myself as an example because I know you've done the same thing to plenty of others.

The permanent ban on User was definitely something that shouldn't have happened. Sure, he had a short fuse sometimes and tended to overdo it, but this place has lost a lot without him.

I actually asked the author about the poll, but you ended up getting called out, and perhaps rightfully so. A secret poll benefits you more than the rest of us because you can manipulate the results. And don't tell me I'm lying; a different mod did the exact same thing on another platform once, but they did it as a joke, and we all knew it!

Given the sheer intensity of the enthusiasts on this forum—the kind of die-hard personalities and unique mental frameworks we have here—the moderation needs to be more or less exactly what it is right now. If we had mods who were any stricter or less flexible, they’d end up banning half the membership within forty-eight hours.

Folks, honestly, these debates are just as pointless as those political shouting matches you see on the news. It's like watching User walk in on George. Who’s doing better? Who’s failing? Is anyone actually being objective? 😂

It truly makes no difference to me that some people are burning through their energy writing four pages on such a ridiculous topic. Especially since, let's face it, this is essentially just the Lower House—you aren't going to have a say in picking the replacement, nor will you get to hand-pick a Mod to suit your specific tastes. You won't be installing a Mod who's personally loyal to you. Or will you?

Some people are whining over nothing, but man, I just scored a massive 300 points instantly😁..and right when I was getting into this political debate and couldn't get my point across... I was seriously losing my mind here...🤣..
Someone actually made a solid point, though some people take all this way too personally... Chill out, people, it's just a forum😛

I'm not going to address everything because there's zero point... you're just talking in circles.

As for User, he dug his own grave long before I even showed up. It happened right in that chat that both yours and his were eventually removed from. Get it now? That's another issue with having chats on the forum. Clear enough?

Right when I arrived, reports started flooding in on his clone, so per the forum rules, it had to go. How much this forum misses User is proven by the fact that I actually personally convinced him (breaking the rules myself!) to make a nickname that wasn't linked to User just so he could keep posting. He did that several times because he'd always give himself away with his specific writing style. If you want to judge my character based on that... let's just say we're still in regular contact and he reached out to me today about this. Any guess how?

What actually gets under my skin is how you communicate and how you enforce the rules whenever you feel like it. It's just pure inconsistency. Arrogance. Narcissism. A total lack of self-awareness.

Basically, all the exact traits a moderator should never show toward the users on this site.
