I’ve been dealing with this strange discharge for quite some time now. Before my last period, it actually had this sort of sour smell, if that makes sense. Now, the scent has shifted into something else entirely; I can't quite find the right way to describe it, I suppose. It isn't necessarily overwhelming or unpleasant, but still...
It’s yellow in color.
Now that my period is due again, the discharge has returned, though it doesn't have that sour note this time.
Could this possibly be white discharge?

If it’s yellow and has a weird odor, it definitely isn't just BV!
You really ought to schedule an appointment with a gynecologist!

I've been wondering about this—what if the discharge is just extremely sparse? Sometimes I genuinely get the feeling like it’s nothing more than plain water leaking out :S

I'm heading to see my gynecologist soon to figure out what's actually going on, but I just wanted to check here and see if anyone else has dealt with something similar🙂

🤣 That happens to me too, even though my checkups show I'm perfectly healthy (no monsters in sight yet)! As long as it isn't yellow, clumpy, or smelly, it shouldn't be an issue.😬

Haha, okay, great then. 😁
The only thing is it bothers me because it feels like I've actually wet myself, haha. 😁
I definitely prefer thongs; I rarely use daily liners because they just feel uncomfortable to me. :S

They are quite frankly detrimental to your health for a multitude of reasons😉

I know her, really. I’ve read up on the whole thing, done my research, but honestly... it just feels right. It’s the most comfortable option for me. I can't quite put my finger on why, though. I just don't know.
I'm currently in the middle of a period of personal development. 🙂

I have a few days left until my period, and I was pretty sure I noticed some ovulation mucus right in the middle of my cycle. Well, today we had sex without a condom, and now I’m seeing this incredibly convincing amount of egg-white discharge! Yes, I know it’s technically possible that I’m ovulating (maybe for real this time?), but I really need to check if anyone else here has experienced something similar after sex? Also, normally a little bit leaks out a few hours after unprotected sex, but it’s never been this... stretchy and heavy. How likely is it that this is just semen, some kind of vaginal cleaning process, or who knows what 😁

That’s most likely just lubrication being released during sex (I’m not sure if there's some fancy medical term for it 😕), and it’s incredibly easy to mistake it for ovulation fluid. Actual ovulation discharge isn't quite that transparent, and it's way, way more stretchy than what you're seeing here.

I’ve been noticing some darker discharge for a few days now—it actually started one morning when I spotted a few drops of blood. At first, I figured it was just ovulation spotting, since that’s happened to me before. But looking at where I am in my cycle, I don't think I'm ovulating anymore.🤷 On top of that, I haven't had any sexual intercourse in about six months🤣, so I haven't exactly picked up anything. 🤷 I’m not sure what’s going on here, but honestly, it’s starting to worry me.

How do you even know you haven't had anything from the start?

I don't know—honestly. I suppose if there had been, it probably would have shown up by now.🤷

When was the last time you had a Pap smear or went in for a checkup? You might have picked something up during your last encounter, and it only just now decided to show up in your system. I’m not trying to scare you, but go get checked out, just to be safe. 😉

I have a question... honestly, I can't remember if it was always like this, but lately, I’ve become a total hypochondriac. I start imagining all sorts of major health issues, and then I get lightheaded from pure fear. 🤣 So, I wanted to ask you guys: is it normal to have a yellowish discharge for a few days right before my period starts?
I know yellow doesn't sound great, and that's why I'm worried this isn't right. But I have this nagging feeling I read somewhere that Candida can cause yellow staining on underwear. Actually, my discharge itself isn't yellowish—it’s just that once it dries on my underwear, it leaves a yellow stain. I'm waiting for my period to start in 2 or 3 days.

I need help!!! My gynecologist is currently traveling and won't be back until next Wednesday... here's the deal: about a week after my period ended, I started getting this thick white discharge with an unpleasant smell, and it’s itching a little bit here and there...😕
Now I'm not sure what this could be based on everything you guys have posted. Should I just grab some cream or something? Has anyone else dealt with anything similar????
For context, I'm sexually active, but I know for a fact my boyfriend hasn't been unfaithful since we're together constantly. Is it even possible to catch something like this from him? Please, I urgently need some advice!!!!🤷

It’s not about being skeptical. If you're dealing with yeast or a bacterial infection, it usually boils down to an imbalance in your flora, a weak immune system, stress, or just bad habits—like using scented or plastic daily pads, wearing non-breathable underwear, eating too much sugar, or staying in damp environments.
And as for inflammation? That little beast is already living down there; it only goes rogue and starts multiplying when conditions get suboptimal. 🙂
The only real move is to ask a gynecologist because it could be anything, or nothing at all. It’s not exactly smart to play doctor with your own meds. Not if it were me...
Since you can't get to a doctor right now, maybe try an online consultation? There are some gynecologists who respond to emails or messages. Or just hit up a pharmacy...

I noticed some thick white discharge today, and there's quite a bit of it. It’s also itching a little. Now, I don't think I need to run to the gynecologist just yet—I was actually just at the clinic less than a month ago and everything seemed fine, aside from some mosaic lesions on my cervix. I also got some Betadine for an infection. I’ve been using it, and right as I finished, this white discharge showed up. It’s incredibly thick, doesn't have any smell, and there's a lot of it. What could this be?

So, I've been dealing with this weird, sticky discharge for about three days now and it really stings... it's such a constant stinging sensation... I honestly don't know what to do.... I can't exactly bring this up to my parents because they’re super old-school and I'm just too embarrassed... I've been searching online and everything seems to point toward it being Candida.... could this actually get dangerous?.... What's the easiest way to clear this up? please help me out🤷

Honestly, the best move would be to just head to a gynecologist—since we’re all just guessing blindly here about what might be going on with you.
That yellowish discharge isn't really typical for Candida. Usually, Candida presents as this specific, thick, white, cottage-cheese-like discharge.
Since there's no odor, that's one thing, but if you start noticing any unpleasant smell, you should definitely make an appointment with a specialist immediately; Gardnerella vaginalis can present with symptoms that look quite similar to yours. You might also experience pain or stinging, whereas fungal infections usually involve itching and occasional stinging, depending on how irritated everything has become.

So, please, just go get checked out and schedule an appointment. You don't even have to tell your family if you don't want to; you'll get some clarity and get everything sorted out. Once they take a swab, you'll know exactly which bacteria you're dealing with (potentially), and they can give you the actual, correct treatment. Whatever you do, don't try to self-diagnose using stuff you find on the internet and then start taking medications on your own.

I’ve been taking Diane for nearly a year now without a single break to manage my acne. I have this constant, thin, yellowish-white discharge, though all my tests have come back completely negative.
Over the last two cycles, I’ve noticed something strange happening right at the end of my period. This substance appears that looks somewhat like saliva—a sort of mucus in one solid piece that is transparent but partially stained with dark blood. It’s quite a substantial mass, if you catch my drift; almost like a thick, gelatinous thread.

Is this actually normal, or should I be reaching out to my gynecologist?
