Hey there. After being on Yaz for a year now, I finally went in for my annual checkup. My bloodwork came back totally fine, but then she did an ultrasound and told me I've got 4 cysts on my right ovary—though she said not to sweat it. I think she mentioned they were just follicular.
That’s basically it. Honestly, I was so shocked that I didn't even think to ask her why they're showing up now. I know women with PCOS usually take Yaz to help clear up cysts, but mine actually popped up while I'm on it. So, what causes these things to form? Do they just go away on their own?

So, aren't Yaz and Jasmin basically the same thing?
Contraception? If you're suppressing ovulation, things stay the same—your numbers don't just magically jump up.

Give Diane a shot.
Having 4 clear ones isn't exactly a lot. 🙂

Cysts usually pop up when a woman isn't ovulating, which can lead to permanent
infertility, needing a hysterectomy, miscarriages, diabetes, and all that good stuff.

Thanks for the info 🙂.
Yaz seems perfect for me since it’s got the lowest hormone levels out there—it feels like Diane has the highest, honestly. I only take Yaz for birth control and it works great for me, so I'm sticking with it. I knew they stopped ovulation, just didn't realize that was what caused the cysts. I read somewhere that they should clear up on their own after a few periods, so I guess my doctor didn't think it was worth mentioning since she's not worried. Still, I'll definitely schedule another checkup in a month or so—that part is 🙂.

Folks, I have one question:
My mother saw her gynecologist a few days ago, and they found something on her ovary. The doctor suggested it might be a larger cyst, but she needs to undergo a Doppler ultrasound tomorrow just to be certain. At home, we are quite concerned because the doctor at the clinic noted "Benign ovarian tumor." Above that, it mentions a non-homogeneous round formation measuring 54 x 75 mm behind the uterus. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks!

Has anyone here had a cyst aspiration done? I'm wondering if it's actually painful. How long does the whole thing take?
I have a larger one—a follicular or "water" cyst—and my doctor suggested we could just drain it via puncture.
It doesn't seem like a complicated procedure, but I'm still feeling a little nervous about it.

Look, I’m definitely no medical expert here, but I did attend medical school, so I can at least translate some of this Latin jargon for you. Basically, it means a benign ovarian tumor. "Benign" is the key word there—it means it's non-cancerous. They have to use the word "tumor" because, in Latin medical terms, any kind of growth or mass is referred to as a tumor. And "behind the uterus" just describes the location.
It’s very likely something harmless.
That’s just my take on it.

Hey everyone, quick question 🙂>
Has anyone ever dealt with leg pain or tightness caused specifically by an ovarian cyst?
I just had a color Doppler scan, and they told me my veins in my legs look perfectly fine. However, they suggested I head over to the gynecologist because there might be a cyst on my ovary that’s putting enough pressure on my pelvic veins to cause this radiating pain down my leg. Anyone else been through this?

And honestly, same here—my leg gets this tingling sensation and a tightness, almost like my muscles are slightly inflamed, but it’s just along the back side.

As for me, I’ve been dealing with some pain on the left side of my abdomen and back—and occasionally, it hits the left side of my buttock and down my left leg too... though it’s never just the leg by itself.

At my last gynecological exam, the doctor mentioned that one of my fallopian tubes looked like a thin wire and asked during the physical if I was experiencing any pain. He suggested that it’s actually chronic ovarian inflammation and implied that this was just some lingering remnant from my younger years!? I’m honestly at a loss—what is he even trying to get at with that?

Why didn't you just ask him for clarification? I honestly have no idea what he means by a fallopian tube looking like a wire 🤷—he’s the expert here, after all. It's likely just some old scarring from past inflammation.
Chocofan said:Has anyone here actually taken Provera? I was prescribed it for PCOS... and I've been bleeding for 14 days straight now...
I haven't experienced anything like this with any other pills before.

Honey, we're going to pull this post into its own separate thread. It's high time we had a dedicated discussion topic specifically for Provera tablets.

I need some advice. My health has been a mess lately. Nine months ago, I had surgery for a fibroadenoma on my right breast. Since then, my cycle has been completely out of whack. I went to my OB-GYN, and she diagnosed me with an enlarged cyst on my right ovary and a severe vaginal infection. My last period was September 30th. I was supposed to get my next one this past Sunday, but since Monday, I’ve had this light bleeding that doesn't even feel like a real period—it's just enough to fill one liner a day. Here’s the catch: I’m supposed to start taking Duphaston on day 15 of my cycle, but I don't know if I should count this spotting as my actual period.
Pregnancy scares me. We had sex on day 20 and day 27 of my cycle. He didn't ejaculate at all, and he didn't even go all the way in—just at the entrance—so there was absolutely no ejaculation inside or outside of me. Could this bleeding be implantation bleeding? Or could the cyst and the infection be causing this?
If anyone knows anything, please help. Thanks.

I need some help!!!!
My periods are usually regular and I don't have any gynecological issues. My only problem right now is this:
On day 16 of my cycle, I noticed some brownish discharge. It stayed like that for about two days. Then, after those two days, it was almost like my period started early.😲 Basically, it showed up a week ahead of schedule and I'm not having any typical symptoms (even though my actual periods are usually really painful). This heavy bleeding has been going on for three days now.
What could this be?😕🙂
Is it just my period?😕😢

Hey everyone, I really need some help from you all
My social worker printed out an ultrasound image of my ovaries and was pointing things out on it. They also mentioned doing more tests if my periods end up being painful. When I asked if everything looked okay with my fallopian tubes, they said yes. Has anyone else dealt with something like this?
From what I know, they don't usually bother printing those images if everything is fine—especially not through Medicare🤷
In the past, I had issues with my left fallopian tube because it was slightly blocked. A specialist at a private clinic figured that out after I went in with pain near my left ovary, and she explained everything to me clearly. Now, I’m feeling that same pain again. I’m trying to get pregnant, so I really don't want a social worker brushing things off or delaying necessary testing if something isn't right.

Ladies, I noticed this thread has been dead for almost three years now—so, fingers crossed someone actually decides to reply...
I wanted to ask about symptoms for cysts. I’ve been doing some digging online and honestly, the whole ovarian cancer thing has me completely spooked. For the last two or three months, I’ve been dealing with constant bloating... which doesn't surprise me much, given how much time I spend hunched over my desk for college. When I was more mindful of my diet and breathing, things felt better. My mom had a physical about three weeks ago and they found a cyst—now we're just playing the waiting game to see what it is. On top of that, my aunt has dealt with similar issues with her ovaries. After seeing my mom's situation, I started Googling ovarian problems, and seeing "bloating" listed as a potential symptom for cancer really hit a nerve. I’m only 20, and since I haven't been sexually active, I've never actually seen a gynecologist—but after all this, I'm genuinely worried. I used to deal with frequent infections and discharge quite often; my periods are regular now (they were irregular during those first two years after I got them, but that settled down), though this one was two weeks late—which I'm chalking up to college stress. I'd love to just go get checked out on my own because I really don't want to freak my parents out, but at the same time, I don't want to walk into a doctor's office looking like a total amateur—even though, let's face it, that's exactly what I am... :/
I'm hoping someone can help me out here.

During my ultrasound, the gynecologist found a cyst and mentioned that one of my ovaries is positioned below the uterus...

He couldn't really explain why the ovary is sitting below the uterus until all the test results come back in.

So, ladies—if any of you know more about this or have dealt with something similar... please, help me make sense of it!!🙂

dustyfalcon9 said:Dear Iva, I was taking Yaz for three months—but I had to stop because I gained an insane amount of weight. During my first month on it, my cycle was 27 days, along with some light brownish discharge... plus, about two and a half years ago, I had surgery for ovarian cysts that got really complicated, so I barely made it out alive.
And if anyone wants to ask anything about ovarian cysts, please feel free—unfortunately, I had to deal with all of that when I was only 17.5 years old.😢

Hey there!
I've been dealing with a 4cm cyst for a year now. I took Duphaston and did a verification, but it hasn't ruptured. Does anyone know if there are any teas that actually help dissolve cysts? Otherwise, I'm looking at surgery.😲

Hey! Quick question... my periods are incredibly painful (pretty sure stress makes it worse), and while they're regular, the time in between is what's worrying me. I get this heavy, thick discharge with an acidic smell, and my stomach often cramps for no reason at all. Plus, my bladder is super sensitive, I’m constantly exhausted, and sometimes I feel so nauseous I can't even eat. I’ve been sexually active for a few months now, but I haven't made it to a gynecologist yet because I just can't find the time. 😢 I'm studying at a pretty intense university and I'd really appreciate any insight on what might be going on, because this is making life difficult. My blood work and urine tests all came back fine. I told my doctor about the fatigue and the frequent bladder infections, but since the labs were normal, she didn't have much else to say. It could all just be stress, but I can't help feeling like it might be my ovaries. What do you guys think? Thanks. 🙂
