Well, that’s a whole different beast right there, but honestly, you shouldn't go out of your way to attack someone just because they can afford to flex both their bank account and their physique. I totally get why it’s an issue, though. Like, for instance, I find some really cute stuff at H&M, but let me tell you—even their XL feels like a tight squeeze on me. And I'm not even talking about those high-end designer labels! But hey, you didn't say anything wrong, 😉.

What I’m trying to say is you can find way better stuff out there that won't break the bank. Personally, I think H&M has much nicer selection than something like Walmart, and it's still cheap. 🙂
Some ladies on this board shop at Target and look amazing—sure, they might not be "curvier," but I bet they carry larger sizes there too.
I'm not sure about the price points at the Marina Rinaldi store, but from what I can see, they stock sizes 10 to 24, and the clothes actually look pretty cute. 🙂

Just to back that up—there definitely is more plus-size clothing available, and you’ll run into it much more often than elsewhere. I frequently shop at secondhand stores; I have a fuller figure, and unlike some of those boutiques back home, I can almost always find my size (and look great doing it 😁). So, if you’re open to it, I highly recommend thrifting as a budget-friendly option for curvier women. It’s actually fun, like a treasure hunt for something unique... if you manage to snag some truly high-quality pieces in perfect condition. Most of the things I’ve bought have felt brand new.

You can find some truly exceptional combinations there, and for the most part, they lay out exactly where everything originates.

Honestly, I am obsessed with her! Her style is totally on point, but more importantly, she’s got so much confidence, like when she rocks a mini skirt with bare legs. Even though we all deal with cellulite, she makes it look absolutely stunning! Seeing her actually gave me the boost I needed to finally buy some pants (since I'm usually strictly a skirts and dresses girl) 🙂 Plus, they carry larger sizes too, and you can definitely find some cute, budget-friendly gems 😉

Look, I’m Brandon Wells712, and honestly? That girl was just... meh. Like, totally mid. She had a couple of looks that actually worked, I'll give her that, but the rest of it? Just straight-up forgettable. Nothing special at all.

Honestly, she caught me a little off guard—but in a good way, obviously! I wasn't exactly expecting her to go all out like that, but seriously, props to her. She looks incredible, and more importantly, she’s clearly got that massive wave of self-confidence. You can have all the designer gear in the world, but if you don't believe in yourself, it's basically just expensive rags. Way to go, girl! 🙂

I just picked up a size 42 handbag—something rather understated, really—and honestly, it’s exactly what I needed to pull everything together right now. It feels like that one missing piece of a puzzle you didn't realize was incomplete until it finally clicks into place. 🤣

I happened to stumble upon this blog of yours back when you were shutting everything down. It’s a genuine shame that your site isn't around anymore; I truly found myself gravitating toward your writing and following along quite consistently.

But wait, I actually DO have a blog! 😉 I started it up just last month, but 😉 the new link is tucked away in my signature 😉 :*

Hey ladies!
I’ve got two quick questions, so if anyone happens to know the deal, please help a girl out.
My mom and I are heading over to Canada soon—it's our first time there—and I was wondering if that BTC City mall in Ljubljana has any decent shops for plus-size clothing. My mom is 47 and, honestly, she’s pretty sturdy, probably around a size 14, and she always struggles to find stuff that actually fits. We live down in the South, and even here, the selection for curvy women isn't exactly amazing.

Also, regarding Chicago, what’s the vibe like for plus-size options at City Center?

Thanks so much in advance for any tips!

So, I have a question for you all,
Let's say our friend here is a size 44—and we’re talking about how her pants seem to just give up the ghost right between the thighs after only a month or two—whether they were high-end brands like Wrangler or just some budget stuff from a big-box store.
Based on what you guys have dealt with, do you actually know where to find pants that are... well, sturdier? Specifically in the crotch area? I need something that isn't going to shred itself through sheer willpower.
It feels like a silly thing to ask, I know—but honestly, these jeans I picked up at Macy's just last month already have a hole in them.

Man, I totally feel you on that. Though, honestly, it didn't hit me until much later than a month or two. I’ve been rocking my gear from S'Oliver about three times a week for seven months now, and just recently, they've finally started to look a little sketchy and pull apart right along the seams.

From what I know, for those specific sizes, you're pretty much stuck with C&A. If you want something a bit more substantial, there's Dorothy Perkins, but their sizing tops out at a 14, so unless they've released some wider cuts—which most of them haven't—it probably won't fit you anyway.🤷

For anyone living in the city, I spotted some killer finds with great sizing at the Garden Mall in Dubrava—specifically the Takko store—and over at King Kross in UPIM. They’ve got these dedicated sections for plus sizes that aren't pricey, and the styles are actually cute (especially the UPIM stuff, since you know it's got that Italian design vibe).

I picked up some black jeans from Macy's last year—wore them basically every single day—and they only started fraying recently... so, they lasted about seven months. Honestly, not bad—pretty much on par with stuff from Benetton or Playlife.🙂

That's honestly a tough one to solve because everything seems to be made of much softer fabrics these days, and that constant friction on the thighs really makes things difficult... A tailor might be able to help out by sewing some small triangular patches on the inside, which can save the pants and make them last way longer, plus you can't even see them once you're dressed...

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right thread for this, but I'm getting desperate enough to try my luck here.

I need a formal dress, but because I have a larger bust, nothing I try on actually fits. 😢 I wear a size 8 on the bottom, but my top is more like a size 14.
Are there any other women dealing with this same issue, and where do you usually shop for dresses?
I’ve already combed through everything on Fifth Avenue and near Madison, hit up the malls like Roosevelt Field and Mall of America, checked both Importante locations, and wandered through countless boutiques downtown, but I've come up empty.

I also looked in stores that carry plus sizes—thinking I could always tailor the bottom if the fit was right—but every single dress there feels way too serious. Can anyone recommend a shop with a more youthful, modern vibe?

After being practically kicked out of a few shops by salesclerks who basically told me they didn't carry anything for someone like me, I'm hoping someone here might actually have a useful suggestion. 😢

Thanks!

Try pairing a skirt with a T-shirt.
I dealt with the exact same headache. I needed something more upscale for a dinner party, but everything I tried was a disaster—either too baggy on the bottom or way too tight up top. In the end, I just threw together a tulle top and a skirt, and honestly? It looked fantastic.
Mind you, I was being pretty picky about my budget; I didn't want to blow more than $100 😬
. If cash isn't an issue for you, go check out Marina Rinaldi—part of the Max Mara group, I believe. I think their prices hover around $500.

In the States, they have size 44, and you can definitely find some really gorgeous dresses there...

If it helps at all, I'm a size 8/10, and I've had those same boutique workers on Fifth Avenue look me up and down before even asking, "Looking for something for yourself? Oh, nope, we don't carry your size!"
So, seriously, don't let their stupid looks and comments get to you. If they were actually smart, they'd stock clothes they could sell to living, breathing people—people who aren't a tiny size 0 or 2... Maybe our retailers will finally realize that women come in different shapes, just like shoe stores finally figured out how to stock a size 9 or 10 without making it a whole mission. Before that, finding decent shoes was basically impossible.
