I’ve heard that Elena Miro boutique is supposedly wonderful, offering such lovely modern pieces. However, I have a feeling they move their stock around quite frequently, making it nearly impossible for me to actually catch them... Are they truly located on Fifth Avenue? Where exactly might one find them?

Honestly, Elena Miro really does have some great options for curvy women. I’ve also noticed that H&M has an awesome selection of larger sizes, maybe from a 14 up to an 18, and their stuff is actually pretty trendy and cute too.

Look, I'll admit Elena Miro has some absolutely stunning pieces, but let's be real here, the prices are just totally insane when you actually look at the quality you're getting for that kind of cash... it's just not worth it.👎

Personally, whenever I head over to Top Shop, I always manage to find some absolutely fantastic pieces in a size 16 (which is our equivalent to an American 12 or 14).

My top pick—MANA. I was hunting for some new denim last week and absolutely nailed it. Usually, I’m a size 44 or 46, but I was literally swimming in the 44 there! I ended up walking out with a 42 instead. I couldn't resist grabbing a shirt too—I tried the 44 and it was honestly three times my size (and trust me, I’m not exactly tiny 😵 ). Definitely worth checking out

What even is MANA? And where can you find it?

For the last couple of years, I’ve mostly been picking up my clothes at H&M. They have that B&B line (yes, yes, big is beautiful 😬), but even their standard pieces run pretty large. Their men's sweaters and shirts look great—though I personally prefer a more structured style.

Plus, the H&M over in [City Name] is actually pretty well stocked.

Before that... I honestly don't know where I used to shop. You could always find decent enough stuff at [Department Store Name] or Mercatone. The quality was questionable as hell, but at least things actually fit and looked presentable.

I actually just grabbed a flyer from the local CVS
It's at the shop on Ilica in downtown Chicago—basically right near that old corner spot by the Super Target in the suburbs.
They have locations in other cities too; like San Diego, Houston, Orlando...
I haven't checked it out myself, so I'm not sure about the quality, but the flyer makes it look like a great deal!

H&M has been pretty meh for me the last couple of years.
Once you head toward the border, it’s a bit of a trek to Mexico City, but there are way more options if you hit the bigger hubs.

Mercatone. It’s all quite grand, isn't it? Like some sweeping epic you'd read in a leather-bound novel. Most truths, I find, require a certain level of careful handling—holding them with bare hands just to ensure they don't crumble away before you've even had a chance to grasp them—but at least then, one might say they resemble something real.

I usually rock a size 42-44—depending on the cut, obviously—and honestly, I can find something that fits me anywhere. Even at Mango, just like lonefox7 mentioned (I’ve got four pairs of their killer trousers, plus jackets, skirts, tees...). Then there's X-nation—thank God they actually carry larger sizes!—Magma, Naf Naf, H&M, or Zara. I was just mentally scrolling through my closet to see where I shop most often... turns out most of my pants are from Mango, my favorite skirt is from X-nation, and that one tee is from Zara 😁 >>.

A good friend of mine from Australia is flying in soon (she’s 40)... she mentioned she’s put on a few pounds, but she’s dying to hit up some clothing boutiques in the city while she's here in the States.

Now I’m wondering, where can I find shops in town that actually cater to curvy women? I'm not talking about stuff for grandmas😲 in their sixties and beyond!

I mean, you can definitely find larger sizes at Top Shop. Plus, the whole city is crawling with tunics and those linen pants, so maybe take a stroll down Main Street... You can really find what you need there.

I was honestly under the impression there was some sort of "Giant Size" department for women where we could just get everything done in one single shop... what a dream that would be!

There’s a shop that sells those larger Earth-sized goods located in Illica, tucked away in one of the courtyards near Constitution 48.
I can't quite recall the exact name, though I know it's situated somewhere along the stretch between Frankopanska and the square on the north side of the street.

Hmm, there’s something over on Broadway, but honestly? It looks way too oversized for my taste... check it out before you take her there, because you don't want to accidentally offend her—that style looks absolutely massive to me.😁 The shop is right after you pass that place near the old pharmacy on the right side (if you're heading toward downtown), and you can't miss it...

To be honest, for someone weighing 200 pounds—even if she’s quite tall—finding clothes will require looking for "huge" sizes,

I used to carry quite a bit of weight myself (I won't disclose the exact number, but definitely less than 200), and I was wearing up to a size 16, plus one pair of size 18 pants. Those were always a bit loose, but I bought them in a moment of pure frustration because I was tired of "outgrowing" everything I owned. Even back then, I felt like I looked massive in those sizes.
But really, you'll probably be able to gauge for yourself exactly what size she'll need once you see her. In the meantime, maybe she could check out some of these shops, just in case.

By the way, there's also a little boutique in a building near the local farmers' market; I think the name has something to do with XXL—maybe Maria XXL? I can't say for certain, though.

I'm not quite sure what the shopping scene is like in your area, but over here, we have a Gerry Weber and I think there's another shop on County Line Road I can't recall the name of right now! I know my mom's favorite boutique is there, she picks up some really lovely pieces from them occasionally...
It’s a little bit pricier, I guess, but getting that Legica from Klokangrad shouldn't be much of an issue at all.😬
