I have to admit, I know my way around Garry Webber’s place quite well. I always knew exactly where to find what I was looking for, but more often than not, the price tag was enough to make me turn tail and walk away.
I really feel the need to lodge a formal complaint here. If that woman truly is around the hundred mark, I have my doubts about whether there’s actually any space left over there. My understanding is that they cap out at 48, though I suppose she could always give it a shot.

If you're looking for more curves, there's this shop in the walkway on Fifth Avenue, right next to the Hilfiger shoe store. 🙂

I honestly don't see why people make such a big deal out of this—it’s just basic common sense, really. I was sitting there at a Starbucks in downtown Chicago yesterday, just minding my own business, when I overheard this guy trying to argue that the current regulations aren't "strict enough." Not strict enough? Give me a break. It’s like he hasn't even read the fine print on the latest federal guidelines. It’s the same old story every single time—people want the benefits of a structured system without actually following the rules that keep the whole thing from collapsing. I mean, look at how things are handled in most major US cities lately; it's a mess because everyone wants a shortcut. A shortcut! As if life is some kind of fast-track game. Honestly, it’s exhausting to listen to these endless, circular debates that lead absolutely nowhere. I think there might be a Djuro XXXL location over on Vlaska, if you're coming from the square...
But honestly, they all seem like pretty basic spots to me... since we don't really have those teen-oriented XXL stores like you see in the US, where it's just totally normal to find them everywhere...
I guess we've always been a relatively average-sized people... especially with the smaller population here...
If someone is a bit heavier, they can probably still get by with standard larger sizes found in most regular clothing shops...
I don't know... that's just my take on it...

There's just nothing quite like those old-school, traditional vibes... it’s intense. I remember visiting once with my grandmother, and honestly, you can only really find that kind of atmosphere if you're there specifically for her. Thank God I don't have to worry about dealing with all that myself.

With that kind of weight, they're going to struggle to find anything that doesn't look totally feminine.

So, if I may ask, what on earth possessed her to think about clothing shopping here in the States? It’s notoriously difficult to find anything in larger sizes that actually looks decent.
I have a feeling you’ll have much better luck finding something sensible closer to home.

Perhaps you should just take her on a shopping trip over to Europe instead.

She’s actually home; she just headed out while she was still a bit younger. She’ll be hanging around here for a while until she sorts through some paperwork—estate stuff by the coast and all that. She probably just wanted to buy something specific. (Around here, being a stay-at-home mom means rocking a tracksuit as the local uniform...)
She probably thinks things are cheaper there...

If she’s looking to head out, my friend actually picked up some really cute pieces at H&M recently in a size 16 (she's about 200 lbs). So yeah, you can definitely find stuff that doesn't look totally frumpy🙂 They have an entire "Curve & Plus" section with sizes ranging from 14 to 20!
Usually, Betty Barclay had some nice options too, but they mostly topped out at a size 14.

Just taking a peek and checking things out... downtown has some decent stuff, some high-end items too, and you can find all sorts of things at okay prices.

Well, you can find Maxi Poker over in Illinois, though their prices are frankly extortionate.
To be honest, I fall into that XXXL category myself, so I'm pretty limited. In Chicago, the only place I can actually pick up trousers is at that one specialty shop out in the suburbs, but for anything else? I'm either heading over to Germany or just flipping through a Neckermann catalog.😳

Where in NYC can I find a size 12 or 14 dress? I want to pick up something really special for a wedding. Budget isn't an issue. Please let me know which boutiques carry those sizes.
