"I'm shaving" for Bon Prix. I actually wanted to ask about bras. Alma, are the bra sizes the same as when you buy them at a local shop, or are they smaller/larger?

mellowbadger26 said:Hi everyone, I’m so glad I stumbled upon you all and this thread.
I’m an XXL myself, a true 48. I usually pick up my basics at Target or Old Navy, and I order from ASOS.

I’ve never actually ordered anything online before, so if there’s a kind soul planning an order soon, could you please reach out? I’ll happily cover the commission, of course.

By the way, the sizing at ASOS works pretty well for me; their 48 is just right. I also grab my lingerie there—the bras fit great and have nice, thick straps.
My struggle is shoes. My feet tend to widen, especially when they swell. When they aren't swollen, a standard size 8 fits, but once they puff up, I have to jump to a 9.

Do any of you shop on Poshmark, eBay, or Mercari? I try to find deals there, but I always end up getting burned because so many sellers don't actually know how to take accurate measurements. It makes me give up on those sites, even though I sell things myself.

Does anyone know if there's an M&S in Los Angeles?

Again, if anyone is placing an order soon, please let me know.

Just LA and NYC.

Does anyone actually know where I can find underwear, pajamas, nightgowns, or even just some decent robes in a size 56/58? Seriously, it’s like they don't even make stuff for real people anymore...

Yes, Bon Prix
I usually wear a D95😁, whether I'm at Target, Kmart, or even Walmart😳
I find the bras at BP to be excellent. I recently picked up a three-pack, around $53 I think that's what I paid. They are purely practical—they don't pinch, and the straps are thick. They're cotton, and I just toss them in the washing machine.
I also have some of their more delicate ones with underwire and lace.
I even bought a few of their shapewear bodysuits; I go with a size 46 with D cups. They work well too.

Yeah, Target has options, but my friend always hits up the flea markets and street vendors. She’s happy with them; says you get great quality for very little money...🤷

Thanks. I caught a glimpse of some size 52-54 while I was out and about, but since this is supposed to be a gift, I don't want to spend my entire afternoon wandering aimlessly around town trying to find the right thing... I'd rather just head straight to the spot, you know? So, if any of you remember a decent shop—and please, anything *except* a KiK—let me know! =)

Kik carries everything from basic underwear to nightgowns up to size XL.
That’s what I saw.
C&A has larger sizes too, though I’m not positive about their lingerie or sleepwear selection.
Their nightgowns are actually great.
I’ve been wearing them for years—honestly.

C&A doesn't carry nightgowns or underwear in my size. I'm a US size 16/18, so I just grab the largest thing they have in stock. That's about it.

Hey, bp, alma, do you find you need to stick to that same size at Victoria's Secret too? I was browsing bras on their site... can you drop the links to those three you bought?🙂?

Yeah, I exclusively wear Marks & Spencer—size 16. Their
panties are perfect, but I haven’t seen anything larger than a size 22 around here, which is basically an American size 12-14.
Over there, they actually carry bigger sizes.
I once picked up some panties at H&M that looked absolutely gorgeous.
After two or three washes, the lace turned totally gray and they looked pathetic—and they weren't exactly cheap either.$20.
Their nightgowns are great, though.
I bought those sleeveless ones in two-packs, size Large, and they're awesome.
Just the right amount of loose and comfy.
They look like summer house dresses, so I can just stroll to the bathroom without grabbing a robe when I'm staying at my mom's or hosting guests.
I also have three pairs with sleeves, and they're at least 4 or 5 years old now—still just as good.
The bras from H&M are terrible, and the ones from Victoria's Secret aren't much better.
I don't dare order from catalogs because I really need to try things on first.
Case in point: I was trying on a camisole at M&S the other day, and even though I usually shop their brand, the bra was too small. I had to go up two cup sizes even though it looked fine to my eye.
So, same brand, completely different cuts.
How am I supposed to guess from a distance?
Nowhere.

The ones in the two-pack were way too large for me, so I just grabbed two sets of two. That makes four total.
They might be a little pricey, but they fit me perfectly, which is what matters most.

Yeah, I’m a textbook D95, and these fit and hold everything exactly how they should.

Thanks, mellowbadger26.

You can find tons of stuff at NKD for half the price.

It’s been nearly a month since anyone’s typed anything here.😲
Anyone got advice on where to find a good selection of tracksuits in plus sizes?🙂
I noticed C&A has some cute, affordable options, but they only go up to XL.🤷

Honestly, everything at Target is just bottom-tier quality lately—total waste of cash. I haven't found a single decent item there yet, so I'm officially calling it quits. 🙂

So I just saw they've got sweats, some basic tees, and a bunch of other new gear out now.. talking about CC1 East.

Fair enough, all five points. 🙂

I used to buy cotton t-shirts, socks, and sweats... but the quality was honestly terrible. That’s just what happened with me. 🙂

I didn't exactly have a blast there either; honestly, just one single shirt managed to survive more than two washes.🤣
