Picked up a universal one. Don't tighten it too much. Leg movement feeling restricted?

It’s funny how these things work out, isn't it? You spend all this time looking for patterns, trying to make sense of the noise, and then something small shifts—just a tiny adjustment in perspective—and suddenly the whole picture looks different. I was thinking about that earlier today while staring at nothing in particular... just one of those moments where you realize how much of what we consider "certainty" is actually just habit. Anyway, I suppose that's just how life goes sometimes. We build these elaborate structures in our minds, only to find out they were resting on much thinner ice than we thought... kaže:
Can someone give me some advice? I'm thinking about picking up a knee brace...
I don't have any real issues with how my knees actually function, but when we get into ground grappling drills, we're constantly moving around on our knees... and I get this stinging sensation on the skin itself. At least, that's how it feels to me...
Some people have been coming at me, telling me they wouldn't recommend it at all. Their whole argument is that it might mess with your knee muscles—basically claiming you won't be able to develop them properly, or even worse, that they might start to weaken...
I swung by Intersport the other day to test out some Kila compression gear, specifically in a size medium. Honestly, they were so tight I felt like they were cutting off my circulation entirely... and apparently, that’s as large as they go. Is it supposed to feel that restrictive, or should I be hunting for a larger size? I'm still sitting here on the fence about whether I should even pull the trigger on them...

I have no idea what kind of brace you ended up buying... unless it’s one of those medical ones designed specifically for wrecked knees?😁
If you're looking to pick something up, you might want to check out Pride, head over to Maksimirska, or maybe hit up Profightstore...
Don't go buying any tourniquets if they’re too small for you. Once you finally manage to get your knee down on the ground, you can just apply compression yourself while you're kneeling and stop the bleeding that way...

Haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet—wasn't really sure. They have Small and Medium in stock, but honestly, the Medium looks like it'd be way too tight on me, even though it's supposed to be the bigger size... so I'm passing on the whole thing. Plus, the selection around here in places like Indianapolis is pretty weak anyway... 😁
I’m more curious about whether wearing a knee brace in general can actually do any harm to a healthy knee—you know, just out of curiosity...
I’ve been hearing some talk lately that’s got me feeling a little bit stuck again... honestly, I'm back to square one with all this uncertainty...

Theoretically, it could cause issues if you were wearing it constantly—like, 24/7, every single day. But just wearing it during a workout? You'll be totally fine.

Ugh, seriously, how do I make this Astra ad go away?! It’s driving me absolutely insane!

Hey, what do you guys think about this pop-up that keeps jumping out on the main page? It’s super annoying—you can't click anything until you find that little X to close it. For me, it keeps redirecting to some random site—not Astra, just other ads, but still—anyway, is there a way to just disable these things entirely? Sorry for the offtopic!

Yeah, there is. If you’re using Firefox, you can just grab an add-on like Adblock Plus (pretty straightforward) or NoScript (a bit more of a headache), or maybe Ghostery if you want to block all those pesky trackers...
As for anyone running IE, Chrome, Opera, or Safari, I honestly haven't a clue...
You might want to check out the General Discussion or the off-topic subforums; I think a few people were complaining about the same thing a while back...

EDIT:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../adblock-plus/ For Firefox

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...dilifddb?hl=en For Chrome

https://addons.opera.com/en/extensio...blockforopera/ For Opera

For those still clinging to Internet Explorer: honestly, you probably deserve the hassle for not using a decent browser...😬😳

So I’ve got my adblocker running—but for some reason, it just won't let me block that little devil. Honestly, I can't even find the setting to do it.
(Sorry for going off-topic, won't happen again)

Hey. I'm 18, about 5'11", and rocking somewhere between 200 and 220 lbs. I’m looking to dive into kickboxing or MMA, but I need a gym close by so I'm not wasting half my life stuck in traffic. Somewhere in the North Side area, preferably if it won't absolutely wreck my bank account.

There’s a Pit Bull over in Travno, specifically at 70 B. Magovca—it's actually hanging out in the fallout shelter behind the building.
As for the price, I haven't a clue.

I think it’s 300. 😁@{OngBedak} knows, since he's basically running things over there.

250—take my word for it, or maybe just take my powdered milk. 😛

Does anyone know a kickboxing club that takes girls? Somewhere near downtown, maybe around the area of the Chase Tower or the Chrysler Building. Just nothing like a big corporate gym like Planet Fitness.
thnx

Holy Spirit

(Technically, Holy Spirit is registered as a Muay Thai club, though the fighters mostly compete in kickboxing lately, so it’s more about kickboxing than actual Thai boxing these days. Not to mention they are two very similar sports; I suppose for a beginner, it shouldn't really matter whether the gym is labeled Muay Thai or kickboxing—what matters is if the club is actually any good.)

There are just way too many women in her group right now, so it’s getting crowded. I guess she wants to move. She actually thinks the club is great, though.

She found a Pit Bull gym, which is pretty close to her. Is it any good?

Hey there, I’ve spent the last few hours scrolling through quite a bit of these pages, starting all the way from the very beginning... and I find myself wondering where to find a solid club for Muay Thai or kickboxing. I have some background in Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, and wrestling, but I’m really just looking for something recreational—you know, focusing on strength, hitting the heavy bag, and just staying active. I'm not looking to enter any competitions or anything intense like that. Honestly, my current routine of just commuting between work, home, and the local pub has become a bit monotonous during this long winter 🙂

Now, regarding specific places... what’s the word on Domsa or Pitbull? I see plenty of praise for Pitbull, which looks promising, and Domsa seems alright since they run sessions until 10:30 PM. My main issue, though, is my work schedule; I work second shifts, so with most of these gyms, I’d only be able to make it to training every other week, which isn't exactly motivating, is it?

So, if you have any thoughts on those clubs or perhaps some recommendations for other spots around the New York City area—maybe near Brooklyn or Queens (you know what I mean 😉)—they would be more than welcome. Thanks so much 😉

Better every other week than never at all. Coach is alright... solid work on both technique and conditioning.

Does anyone know if there are any boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA, grappling, BJJ, or Krav Maga clubs in the Los Angeles area that offer training sessions IN THE MORNING? Ideally, I’m looking for something that wraps up by 2:00 PM at the latest...
