It’s actually quite solid, though getting set up while living in the US can be a headache because the verification process gets pricey—you'd have to mail notarized documents translated into Russian over to Moscow. However, they have branches in neighboring countries where the verification fee is only about five bucks.

Can someone hit me up in my DMs if you're running Oreo inside Parallel? Thanks.

Also, I need a quick sanity check on limits. If I link my Oreo to my JPMorgan Chase account to bump up my transfer limit, can I send someone, say, $1333, even if they don't have a JPMorgan Chase account? Or does everyone involved need to be with the same bank for that to work?

I run it in a parallel space, but I don't even have an account at JPMorgan Chase. 😉

If you're looking to change the Visa PIN on any of your foreign cards, you'll be surprised at how much Citigroup ATMs can pull off 👍 For about six months now, I’ve been trying to get this done at various American ATMs—tried everything from JPMorgan Chase and the Federal Reserve to Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and even PNC Bank—but nothing worked. Honestly, it didn't even cross my mind to try a Citigroup machine since they aren't exactly everywhere you turn, but I gave it a shot today and it actually worked! 🙏

Now, Mastercard is a different story altogether. You can change those at way more locations (pretty much anywhere, really), though if you want my advice, stick with the Federal Reserve machines.

Bank of America is running ads claiming they offer a way to change your Visa PIN.

I had some trouble using my Visa cards through Bank of America; it seems like maybe not all ATMs support them 🤷

The Federal Reserve offers this service for Mastercard (you’ll actually see "Mastercard PIN change" listed right there on the screen), which is why changing a PIN always works smoothly at their ATMs when you're using an MC card.

ironcyclist58 said:It really depends on which platform you're looking at, but the standard perks usually include better exchange rates, zero fees for ATM withdrawals anywhere, and way more control over your card—like being able to freeze it instantly if you misplace it. You also get things like virtual cards, cards issued from different regions (handy for bypassing geo-blocks on certain services), and cheaper or even free wire transfers... The list goes on and on...

ironcyclist58, thanks for taking the time to answer. 👍
I'm still not quite sure. 😁

I don't really use Swift. My bank has enough ATMs around here that I don't necessarily need "all-network" access, but I'll give it some thought. 🙂
Maybe if I did more online shopping I'd find a use for it... though I can just use my debit cards for that too...

Does anyone else get a notification on Cash App when someone sends them a message?

Looks like the first wave of businesses has officially started taking payments through Stripe:

Where on earth did you find that list? I’m actually thinking about checking out that local diner (if it's the one over by the square) 🤣

All I'm looking for is a solid list of cafes, restaurants, hair salons, and that's about it. Something along the lines of a failed Apple Wallet, PayPal, or George... honestly, I think George is the only one still somewhat hanging on, while the others have either completely folded or are doing so "well" that you can't even tell if they're still functioning.

Stripe still isn't on the Apple App Store. Such a bummer.

It's right there in the app under B2B Payments. They don't give you much else besides the names—no addresses or anything useful...

My Remitly card finally arrived today. The packaging is a total carbon copy of the Revolut Metal experience, except instead of that sleek black look, they went with purple. The card itself has this blue and purple gradient, and interestingly enough, this one actually specifies it’s a Brazilian credit card 🙂

Yeah. It’s actually pretty wild—there isn't even a label on the card indicating if it's credit, debit, or prepaid. Absolutely nothing, not even in the fine print or tucked away near the Mastercard logo on the back. I don't think I've ever seen a card like this before.

By the way, Remitly doesn't seem to have a minimum top-up amount. Just to test the waters, I literally did a top-up for a single cent and it went through without any fees. Once they realize what I just did, they'll probably freeze my account in a heartbeat. 🤣

p.s. You can't add it to Curve, likely because of that Brazilian BIN...

I doubt that's actually legal. Maybe the font is just tiny, or the text color blends right into the background (kind of like those Revolut Visas)?

Nah, it's just because it's prepaid (which is exactly what the error message says). People have been begging them on their forums to whitelist it, so maybe they'll add support in a month or two...

No, honestly, nowhere to be found. I gave it a pretty thorough look.

And regarding Curve—that list they’re showing is from May 2017, so I didn't take it "too seriously."

The list might be a bit out of date, but the bottom line is that prepaid cards are banned by default and have to be individually whitelisted to work.

Anyone actually managed to pull off a transfer from a Chase Global Account to any kind of card? I’ve been messing around with this lately and I’m hitting nothing but walls. Every time I try using my Bank of America Visa Revolving, my Bank of America Premium Visa, or even a Chime Visa, it just throws an error at me right after the card is successfully added and saved. As for the Revolut Mastercard (US Bank Identification Number), I can’t even get it to register—it won't accept it as an American card, and it won't take it as a card from the USA either... just keeps telling me it doesn't match. Transfers via bunq and US Mastercard seem fine on the Wise side, but then bunq or the US issuer just rejects them outright. I'm not even going to bother with Curve because I already know it won't support the initial deposit.
