I actually got one today from a parking garage... Not sure if that counts as a message, but I was definitely getting those steady alerts letting me know my parking time was up.

Anyway, speaking of Oreos—is anyone else having issues with their app and scanning QR codes? It shows a "Pay/Donate" option, so I head over to some nonprofit's site, and they have a QR code right there. My Android scanner picks it up instantly, and even my Federal Reserve business app reads it without a hitch... but the Oreo Pay app just won't cooperate. Am I doing something wrong here, or what?...

Is this QR code thing actually just a gimmick for Nabisco?

Nah, I guess 🤷 there needs to be a specific QR code just for Oreos if you want to pay with them? Like... what? 😕

Yeah. I'm thinking the old codes from the Coinbase Wallet should work the same way, though I can't say for sure...

Sorry, ironcyclist58, but I honestly don't get what you're even saying...

So, there’s this option in the app where you can check "Pay / Donate." Look, I didn't just make that up—it's actually right there in the interface. But when you tap it, it pulls up this QR code scanner... and here's the thing—it doesn't seem to work with just any random QR code you find lying around to make a payment or a donation. It feels like it's looking for some kind of "special" QR code specifically designed for the app, if that makes sense...

That doesn't make any damn sense, sorry—not that what you're saying isn't logical, but the app itself is just totally half-assed if this is true... and honestly, it's pretty much a given that it is... 😢 )

Yeah, certain merchants can actually set up an agreement with JPMorgan Chase to accept payments via Oreo (and then JPMorgan Chase just skims their commission off the top for the service).

It works for me too, but it’s not quite the same thing. What I was actually asking about is whether you get a notification specifically when someone sends you money or a message—because even though I have every single setting enabled, I don't get any notifications at all during those times. 🤷

I’m not sure when you get notified of an incoming message, but personally, I always get my alerts for incoming transfers without any issues (Android).

Neither of them seems to be working for me on iOS.

There's this little Middle Eastern shop over at the Mall of America that has a sign right on the door saying they accept Coinbase Wallet. But every single time I ask if I can actually use it to pay, the guy behind the counter just shrugs and tells me he has no idea how to set that up.🤣 🙏

Mistertango just went under. They suspended all accounts because of some "regulatory decision" or whatever... If you've still got cash sitting in there, you need to fill out a form if you want to see any of it again.

That’s exactly the risk you run with fintech. It makes you wonder which company is going to be next on the chopping block. In my opinion, you really ought to be looking at—and only sticking with—the players who have actually managed to successfully close their latest funding rounds with major investors

That wasn't even the real issue here. The headache started when the Federal Reserve slapped them with a massive fine because their AML protocols were a complete mess.

Is anyone here actually using AirCash? I'd love to hear about your experiences with it.

😵

Hit me up in the DMs. And if anyone else is having issues with Oreo Pay, let's troubleshoot this together.

electricbadger89 said:Can someone hit me up in my DMs if you're running Oreo inside Parallel? Thanks.

Also, I need a quick sanity check on limits. If I link my Oreo to my JPMorgan Chase account to bump up my transfer limit, can I send someone, say, $1333, even if they don't have a JPMorgan Chase account? Or does everyone involved need to be with the same bank for that to work?

Yeah, you can. Limits are handled on the sender's end.

Kevin Morris12 said:I’ve been digging through the Venmo FAQ, and it mentions you can use it at various supported retailers—specifically those that also accept Apple Wallet. Does anyone actually know which locations support Venmo? I can't seem to find a specific list anywhere. It used to be that Apple Wallet had a directory right in the app, though back then the selection was pretty slim—maybe around 20 spots, mostly just small coffee shops or local barbershops around Washington, D.C. Now, I’m looking through everything and I can't find a single merchant listed. 🤔

We carried over the functionality from the old Wallet, so it had to be supported as-is, even though a lot of the merchants who "support" it are actually outdated. That’s exactly why we decided not to republish the old merchant list. We’re working hard to expand the network using a totally different strategy than before. In a relatively short window—give it a month or three—we should have way more merchants available, and we'll release the full list then. All PayPal users will get an update through the app.

ironcyclist58 said:It’s pretty much the same deal over here. If you’re already with JPMorgan Chase, you can just link your account directly to send or receive funds, and everything gets authorized through their mobile security app—I don't know all the technical specifics, I'm not a JPMorgan Chase customer myself... If you aren't with them, you just drop your routing and account number to get paid, no authorization needed for that part. To send money, you just use a debit or credit card and go through whatever 3D secure stuff your bank requires. You can't just type in a random account number to send cash; you have to pick someone from your contacts. If you don't give the app permission to see your contacts, the list stays empty and you're stuck. You'll see a little Cash App icon next to anyone who actually has the app installed. It really ought to have a filter just for those users, but maybe they'll add that in some future update...

It's live on iOS, and Android should be right behind it.
At the top of your contact list, everyone using PayPal gets grouped together first.
