Oh, great.

So, I was doing a little digging on Google to see if there's some kind of online payment slip generator out there, and apparently stuff like that exists. Basically, in theory, I could just whip up a barcode, snap a photo of it with the aircash app, and once I'm sure the scanner actually caught everything, I'd be good to go.

All in all, this aircash thing seems pretty interesting, I guess.

It’s probably only worth sticking with this while they're running these zero-fee promos, I guess. Once those old service fees kick back in, I'll likely ditch it since they're just way too steep for me.

I’m in the same boat—honestly, I’m looking at maybe saving $2 or $3 a month just by skipping those little transaction fees... It’s not exactly life-changing money, right? I mean, until there's a specific reason to use it, I think I'll just stick to my mobile banking app—it's just way more convenient for everything else. Maybe I'll use the app for paying for parking once in a while, though! Does anyone know how long this promotion actually lasts?

No clue. It's indefinite...

Look, even if they do introduce a fee, as long as it stays lower than what you'd pay at the Post Office, AirCash still comes out on top—especially nowadays, considering you can't even walk into a USPS branch without showing some kind of COVID clearance!

It’s kind of like having a Chime or Revolut account—if there isn't a cost just to keep it open, I don't see much point in bothering with it. It isn't like those big traditional banks where they charge you every single month just for the privilege of letting them mess around with your money. You end up paying for the "tech innovation" of their website or mobile app, then a fee for your monthly statement, and then...

Looks like they’re finally prepping to roll out support for Apple and Apple Pay this spring: https://www.ictbusiness.info/interne...ay-i-apple-pay

Is it possible to pay Air Canada using a debit card at Walmart 🙂? Basically, can I just show up with my phone and the code and swipe my card?
I'm asking because when I tried to buy a pass last month at a News Corp outlet, they wouldn't let me use my card, but Walmart was fine with it—so now I'm a bit confused about whether it's always an option at Walmart.

BTW
I’m looking at their website right now, and it doesn't actually list Walmart as a partner for cash-equivalent payments.

As far as I know, Walmart isn't even an AirCash partner, so you shouldn't be able to deposit money there anyway.

Is it even legal for someone to just screenshot their cash payment code and shoot it over to me so I can pay it at a 7-Eleven? And—if we’re really leaning into the chaos here—what if I use my debit card to do it too? 😁

It probably isn't strictly legal, but you can't even use a credit card there—it's cash only.

I just picked up a PayPal card. For those of you who already use one, how has your experience been with online shopping? I’m planning to order a few things from Amazon soon. Did you run into any issues?

If we're talking about online security, nothing beats PayPal. Within the app, you can generate a virtual Mastercard that’s strictly single-use; once the transaction clears, that specific card number simply ceases to exist. If you need to buy something else, a completely different one is generated. Even if someone manages to swipe your details, they're left holding a useless number.

With a prepaid card like the one you mentioned, the data stays the same every time—which means if it gets compromised, it’s a real problem, especially since you've already put your own money onto it.$10.

Has anyone here tried topping up an aircash account using a Curve virtual card?

It just won't go through for me—not sure what the issue is.

Can someone actually wire money onto an AirCash card—like, the way you’d do it with a standard checking account? Say, if someone just sets up a transfer using the card's account number?

Well, you can't really do it via a traditional bank transfer since there isn't a standard routing number involved, but—and here is the clever part!—if the sender also uses the app, they can just send funds straight to your mobile number. They simply enter the amount, punch in your phone number, and hit send! Isn't that convenient?

And then they'll take a nice little cut for themselves. 😬

If you check the app under the transfer fee options, the rate is just 1%—which, let’s be honest, is a whole lot better than dealing with Western Union! And, if you ever need to send money to someone right here in the States, you can just head over to the recipient's bank and make a deposit directly; no extra fees involved at all!
Just a quick heads-up: I haven't actually used the money transfer feature myself yet. I've mostly been using PayPal exclusively to settle my bills—you know, utilities and the like—and as long as the fees stay low or cheaper than hitting up the local post office, that's exactly how I'll keep using it. I did give it a little test run the other day by buying a mobile top-up, and everything went through perfectly smooth! It’s quite handy, too—you don't even have to fumble around typing in those long voucher codes; you just enter the phone number and you're good to go.
As for my online shopping, I've got a prepaid card linked to my PayPal account, which serves my needs just fine for now.
But for everything else—whether it's popping into a shop or anything else under the sun—I still find myself trusting cold, hard cash more than anything else!
