Lisa Perez50 said:Following the rollout of keks Pay, Cash App has officially landed at the USPS.

Across our network of over 1,000 post offices, you can pay for services and products however you want:
* digitally – via the keks Pay or Cash App mobile apps
* with various credit and debit cards, or just plain old cash.

Using Cash App at the post office is a breeze. Every single one of our locations has a QR code displayed right at the counter; just scan it with your phone when you're ready to pay.

With digital payments at our branches, you can cover:
* retail items (excluding HAC ENC vouchers, mobile carrier e-vouchers, or lottery tickets)
* postal services
* FedEx express delivery services
* philatelic products.

😁
Do they treat it the same way...
where you first withdraw from Cash App and then use it to pay for things?

Like a cash withdrawal...
🙏

Is this just bait for the gullible???

I’ve never quite figured out how card payments work at the Post Office. I always use my card when I'm shipping packages. I've seen other people paying their bills with cards there, too. So, I guess some services just work normally with a card, while others act like a cash withdrawal. Someone actually needs to go try it and report back.

Which Visa? There’s a massive difference depending on the issuer.

Nah, no. This was already explained earlier in this thread. You don't even need a card to pay your bills. You just download the app, set up an account, load some cash (either via cash at ExxonMobil, 7-Eleven, or just using a card), snap a photo of your bills, and you're done. There aren't any fees for it right now, which is why everyone is jumping on it. If they start charging fees, we'll see if it's still worth the hassle.

EDIT: The card is basically just for shopping in stores or online. Plus, you can use it to move money over to keks pay or Chime. Though, I'm not sure if anyone's gonna call me out if I move money from PayPal and Chime way too often.

Charles Bennett56 said:I actually had this exact same question because I bought some cards for my kids. I registered both cards under the same app and loaded up $133.
When I called customer service to ask how I could set specific limits—so each kid could only spend up to $67 per card—they told me all I had to do was just set the universal limit to $67 for everything, and that would be it.
Hopefully, that works out; I'll keep a close eye on it at first and see how it goes.

What I'm really wondering is, what's the age limit for the kids? Can they have their own access to the app, or do they just use the physical cards (the ones you've already added to your own account)? Also, do they use the cards for in-store shopping, withdrawing cash, or making online purchases? It's a lot of questions, but I'm basically just looking for some insight into your experiences with how this works for children. Thanks!

If I transfer something like $4,000 directly into his PayPal wallet, am I going to get hit with a transaction fee? And if I do, does the full amount just sit there, ready for him to pull the whole thing onto his PayPal Mastercard?

Yeah, but you can only drop $667 at a time. I mean, you could probably do it in two chunks of two thousand—someone else mentioned doing that here earlier and it worked fine for them.

There’s no fee for the deposit, but they’ll hit you with one when you try to pull cash from an ATM. To dodge that, you could move the money from PayPal over to Keksica (if you have one) and use an Erste Bank ATM to grab it fee-free. Or maybe move it to Chime and go from there—check the Chime thread to see how people handle that.

Anyone else having trouble topping up with their card? I keep getting an error saying there's some kind of issue with the payment processor...

If someone sends me, say, $100 via PayPal from Germany, how does that show up in my account balance?
I’m assuming it hits my balance in USD based on the current exchange rate?

Never actually tried it—not that I really need to—but I'm guessing if you send someone Euros, they just get Euros... and then there’s that built-in currency converter in the app where you can swap them for dollars. Like today, maybe you get $2.50 for €1, or maybe €1 costs $2.50. You just tap your balance on the home screen and the converter pops up in a little window.

You end up getting dollars; I had a transfer coming in from the European Union, just some small change in euros, and suddenly I’m seeing dollars in my account instead.

How am I even supposed to load dollars onto PayPal? Is Paysafecash the only way? Because even when I switch my location over, topping up with a card just keeps showing me everything in USD regardless... The only time it actually gives me the option for Euros via Paysafecash is when I try the cash deposit route.

PayPal Mastercard Keks Pay scam - my money vanished from my account

My experience today dealing with the PayPal Mastercard, Keks Pay, and Laqo insurance.
I’ve been using PayPal for a while now—sometimes just to cover utility bills—but this time I planned to pay my Laqo auto insurance through the Keks Pay app, where I have my PayPal Mastercard linked.
I scanned the QR code around 7 PM, and everything seemed to go through perfectly fine. But then, two days later, the PayPal app shows me that this "successful" transaction was actually reversed at 11 PM that same night. To make matters worse, two days after that, Keks Pay pulled the exact same amount from my account again, completely without my authorization.

I called Laqo insurance, and they basically told me they have nothing to do with it; the payment never reached them.
Erste Bank (the Keks Pay side) isn't giving me any answers either.
And PayPal? They’re playing dumb, acting like their technical department is "looking into it"... meanwhile, the money is just gone.

I’ve been asking PayPal to provide a formal payment confirmation for this transaction. Nothing. Zilch.

Listen, people! Avoid these digital wallets and apps unless you absolutely have to. Especially when it comes to paying your bills. There was a time when you could easily download a PDF receipt from PayPal to prove a payment was made. That feature is gone. At this point, who knows if they’re even actually paying your utilities at all.
It's a good thing I have one cousin who's a lawyer and another who's a journalist, so we'll be handling this quietly. :-)

I just started messing around with PayPal myself—basically just testing out these digital wallets to see what sticks—but I don't really get why you went through the hassle of paying indirectly via Keksica. From what I can tell, you can't even pull a PDF receipt from PayPal because it didn't actually process the payment... it just sees it as some random Maestro card transaction to PayU. Why wouldn't you just scan the 2D code directly in the app? There aren't even any fees right now, plus you’d actually get a proper PDF confirmation for the transfer.

First off, just wanted to update everyone: I sent an email to PayPal requesting they restore my balance to its state prior to that phantom withdrawal, following some legal advice. There are specific laws governing this kind of thing.
After a bit of waiting, they actually got back to me and returned the funds, so everything is settled now.
Phew... I was already picturing myself checking out early from life when I told my wife about it.

I went back through some old statements and realized they have PDF versions available now, so that was my own oversight. If I had needed them urgently a few days ago, they wouldn't have been there and I would've been stuck, but I needed hard copies as proof for daycare and stuff. Usually, when I use PayPal, I stick to bills I can verify instantly online, like Exelon or my phone provider.

The Keks Pay thing just popped into my head because I was in a rush. My insurance company had this great discount running, and it was the very last day of the promotion. On the insurance site, there was only a QR code, no standard barcode... so I somehow convinced myself I could make it work in my head. 🤦
But honestly, it shouldn't even matter... My logic was: I make the payment, it goes through, and then a few days later I see it was reversed and re-processed. But the insurance company never actually received the money, and there's no record of any successful payment in Keks Pay—just a notification that it was voided. Meanwhile, the PayPal app is showing these bizarre, nonsensical transactions. Where the hell did the money go? 😵
In my opinion, the aircash MASTERCARD should at least allow you to view all transaction details properly.

To be honest, I still don't quite grasp exactly how you pulled that off, or why PayPal is your main focus here. If you paid from PayPal to Keks, and then from Keks to the insurance company, but the insurance company never got paid, I guess you'd look at the Keks side first. Maybe I just didn't fully follow your whole balancing act. 😁

But generally speaking, yeah, all these fintech companies feel more like amateur radio clubs than actual financial institutions to me. They have their useful and practical sides, sure, but I probably wouldn't trust them with any significant amounts of cash. If I ever had it, maybe... 😬

It’s always a bit easier to hold a conversation when there’s actually some breathing room in your wallet. And look, you hit the nail on the head—avoiding those massive transfers isn't necessarily a bad thing; there are definitely upsides to playing it safe.
I went ahead and linked my Visa to my PayPal account so the funds pull directly whenever I need to pay for something. Now, my Cash App balance basically looks like $333, since everything is tied back to that card.
When I use PayPal to checkout, it just hits the card and the transaction is done. Simple as that...
Man, what a headache. :-)
