Just a quick heads-up for the folks over at Air Canada who are (I’m certain) lurking on this forum... December 31st is creeping up, which means the promotional window for bill payments is closing fast. Why don't you guys make it worth our while? 🎉

I’ve got about eight people I’ve referred who strictly use this service for one specific thing, and then they just happen to pick up a random transaction here or there out of pure habit. Most of them are younger, and honestly, they’re just chasing the lowest fees—they move wherever the math makes sense. So, if the promo ends, there's a high chance they’ll just walk away from the other services too. Personally, I lean on it heavily for my monthly bills, plus the occasional prepaid card top-up, gas, or even booking a ferry trip or an Amtrak ticket when it's convenient. If they pull the plug on the deal, I'll just shift everything back over to my Chase Visa and set those few accounts back onto autopay.

At the very least, they need to make sure their bill payment fees are actually competitive—I mean, significantly cheaper than what the big banks charge. I honestly can't see many people sticking around to pay their bills through Air Canada if they're hit with an $1.25 fee. When you look at the rates at Chase, Wells Fargo, or Bank of America, it’s usually around 2.25-$0.42. Plus, you don't even have to bother with a top-up first; you just pay directly through your banking app.

Let's see what kind of moves they make after the New Year... Being able to pay bills without those extra fees is awesome!

I think the USPS app has the lowest fees—like, maybe just $0.30. You can even use your Air Canada card through the app. Hopefully they don't hike the prices when the dollar shifts again.

I honestly think Chase is $0.42 / $0.75. I’m just hoping they stay at least below that level.

Yeah, but don't forget about that monthly fee $3.25.

Big thanks to Air Canada! They’ve extended that zero-fee bill pay promo all the way through April 1st, 2023!

My payments aren't going through on my American Express Gold Card. I know I'm not the only one hitting this wall right now.
It’s definitely an active issue. Everything was working perfectly fine until just now.

It finally went through. I had to force close the app, and then the payment just kind of processed on its own
First time I've ever run into an issue with a transaction.
I really hope this is just a one-off fluke...

Honestly, it was probably just a momentary hiccup—either some flaky Wi-Fi or a banking lag. I always use my Visa when I pay and everything goes smooth, but you know how it is... sometimes the connection just dies on you. :/

I live in Switzerland, where I stumbled upon PayPal last year. It’s been a lifesaver for handling my utility bills and electricity. Since everything arrives via email, I basically just scan them and call it a day.
I ran into some trouble this summer at the local Department of Homeland Security office in San Diego. I tried to pay $83 through PayPal to expedite my ID processing. I made sure to include all the necessary details, like my Social Security number and everything. But they told me they wouldn't accept the payment because they couldn't process it on their end.
PayPal eventually sent over a different confirmation mentioning Chase, which finally cleared it. Still, I had to trek down to the teller window to demand a refund since I ended up having to go to the post office anyway to pay with one of their official forms.

@splico73 you aren't the only one. It feels like I'm the only person who actually got my Cash App verification cleared by the FBI on the first try. Everyone else on this forum has been complaining about the exact same headache. Wouldn't it be nice if they just automatically offered that PBZ confirmation instead?

Yeah, so I actually wrote to them about it. They claimed they're working on it.
I'm dying to know if they'll actually accept PayPal confirmations.

Mine went through too...
😁
I guess it just depends on which clerk you get at the office.
🤣
