I’m planning on heading over to Chase tomorrow to drop off some cash.

It’s asking me to verify my identity by snapping a photo of my driver's license, and I was wondering—is that actually mandatory?

Basically, I just need to get a few bills paid, so can I just settle those without going through the whole verification thing?

You can't make payments. You can only deposit money into Venmo.🤣

Well, I guess I'll just have to verify myself with my ID then😁

It honestly feels so stupid having to go through verification just to pay a bill 🤔

I mean, it's not like the IRS or the Post Office asks to see my driver's license when I'm paying something in cash,
but this feels exactly like the hassle of dropping off cash at Walmart and then trying to pay for it through an app later.🤔

It’s not really the same thing. A better way to look at it would be like depositing cash directly into your Wells Fargo account and then just using that balance to pay your bills.

I was wondering if anyone knows which way to top up my Venmo balance so it actually shows up immediately? .. I've been trying the route where I just scan a QR code through my bank app to transfer funds from my checking account, but for some reason, it doesn't reflect in my balance until after 3 PM the next day. Is there some kind of method to get it done in real time? .. Also, does anyone know if Venmo is generally accepted for installment payments, say at big shopping malls or something like that?

thanks!

Whether you use a card or cash, it shows up instantly.
You can't do any installment plans with Venmo.

So, you mean using a debit card that requires registration through an app? I don't know about that... even Revolut gave me a hard time when I tried it. I guess hitting up a Walmart for cash might be the fastest way?

Hey there

So, I’ve got a bit of a gray area question for you guys: I actually won some cash through this sweepstakes thing on my Wells Fargo credit card. Obviously, I can't just hit up an ATM and pull the cash out, right? But, is there any way I could just transfer those funds over to Venmo instead?

Use it to pay bills at Walmart. Or just head to an IKEA, buy something for that exact amount, and then return it because you changed your mind. 😬
I don't have a straight answer for your specific question. Give it a shot.

Just load some Venmo credit onto your card.

Is that even a thing? Like, you walk into a Walmart, tell them you want to deposit cash, and then just pay with your card? I don't know, seems sketchy... maybe.

No. You’re saying you want to buy a gift card.

Once you get it, just enter the code in the app and boom—you've got cash.

Thanks for the tips, guys.
The whole thing with the mobile payment app seems crazy easy. Being the skeptic that I am, it almost feels too good to be true... 🙂 But honestly, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Cheers again

Wait, how does that actually work? Like, where exactly are you supposed to enter it?

I don't think there’s even an option to load a Lottery voucher into Venmo. And honestly, I doubt you can even use a card to pay for a Lottery ticket. When you go to 7-Eleven for Powerball or Paysafecard, they won't let you pay by card—which, if you think about it, actually makes sense.

From what I can gather, the Lottery is basically used for topping up your accounts at various betting sites and casinos:

Use your Lottery voucher
When you grab a Lottery voucher, you’ll get a voucher featuring a 16-digit code. Just head over to your account pages at DraftKings, BetMGM, Walgreens, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Rizk, Hard Rock Casino, or FanDuel, select the option to deposit via Lottery, and punch in that 16-digit code. Your funds will show up in your account instantly, just like magic!

Unbelievable. Seriously. It sounded way too easy, right? But now it actually feels kind of insane... like, how does a paper voucher you get from Venmo—which, by the way, you buy at the exact same 7-Eleven where you can just use cash to top up your Venmo—somehow isn't valid for a Venmo deposit? Makes zero sense, doesn't it?

Just put it on DraftKings. Roll the money over a few times and then request a withdrawal 😬

It’s pretty wild that they offer a top-up via Lottery if you just switch your location to some other state besides where you actually are. I just can't tell if those Lottery vouchers have to be specific to that exact state—since you can't find them everywhere—or if you can just use ours...

So, I finally got a reply from Cash App support: "You can't actually use an A-bon to load money directly into your Cash App wallet. A-bon is strictly for depositing funds into accounts held by our partners like DraftKings, PSK, Germanin, Admiral, Caesars Palace, BetMGM, Rizk, and Senator." >

So yeah, basically useless for anything other than dumping cash into betting sites and casinos.
Looks like I'm gonna have to try my luck with Revolut instead.
