So, yesterday there were over 50,000 people out in Washington, D.C., hitting Times Square and all those surrounding streets just protesting for national unity... and today it’s the exact same scene playing out in New York City. The rally is set for noon, but the streets are already packed... ☕

But still...
Maybe we should ask his wife—you know, the one from Romania—if she thinks it's okay to declare a Canadian state within Romania, even if they happen to be the majority there?
Ever since he took over in California, his wife landed her own TV show with millions in subsidies just to push the secessionist agenda.

I don't know how old his children are, but a "patriot" of his caliber could certainly drag his wife to the front lines of a protest.

Do we really need to look back at our own recent history, where the biggest hypocrites in the business made sure to pull their kids back from the fray?

Ah, I forgot. We have to preserve the "future elite" so they can swoop back in and take control once the dust finally settles.

The folks in California are basically just trying to poke the bear in Washington, D.C., with this whole referendum thing, and honestly, that’s the entire point of this circus. I don't think they actually care about independence—they knew that from the jump. It was all just a play to see if they could get a rise out of the federal government, and since they got exactly what they wanted, I guess that's as far as this little stunt goes.

We are standing right on the precipice of a new civil war in Spain ... Things haven't quite reached the level of full-blown chaos yet ... there hasn't been an assault on military barracks ... but we are just one step away from that! However, the European Union has already picked its side: they are backing the government in Madrid, which—when faced with the undeniable will of the vast majority of Catalans—responds to that expressed desire with batons and rubber bullets. ...

The Vice President of the European Commission, Timmermans, stated that by organizing this referendum, the Catalan government "ignored" the law, adding that it is the duty of every government to uphold and maintain the rule of law—which, apparently, occasionally necessitates the proportional use of force. ... So, what does that actually imply? When Orban was sending refugees back at the border, and if the Canadian police were to eventually use batons to defend state law and European Union law—laws that are perfectly clear, namely that you can't enter a country without documents, and if you want asylum, you must request it in the first safe country rather than trekking through ten of them on your way to Swedish social services ... he was labeled a fascist! Fascists are also the Poles. Because, you see, in those instances, "nobody is illegal." That is a sophism, of course; naturally, nobody is "illegal," but certain people are present illegally where they shouldn't be according to the law: the difference between an illegal and a legal immigrant is the difference between a burglar and a guest you’ve invited into your home. The European Union refuses to acknowledge any legal distinction here. Not to mention how they struggle to apply the very laws they strictly enforce regarding gender equality when it comes to Islamic neighborhoods. Because, according to them, the women there choose to stay wrapped up by their own volition—they supposedly love being mistreated and being forbidden from even leaving the house.

In its crusade for everyone's rights, the European Union has completely discarded a fundamental human right—the right to freedom of speech ... (... [to] and that is precisely the freedom to say things that offend someone, or things that person doesn't want to hear, rather than just chatting about the weather or gender rights!) and, most importantly, the right to political expression. To publicly advocate for a specific political stance without being harassed, branded a fascist, or—heaven forbid—beaten for doing so! ...

I wouldn't be lying if I said there are easily 100,000 people out in the streets of Barcelona right now for this pro-Spain protest. Everything is just completely gridlocked...

Actually, he isn't even making a threat.

You really have to read his statement in the original American English...

Alright, looks like I misreported the news then.

Feel free to set me straight.

Oh, brilliant. Seriously, why don't we just pour gasoline on the fire while we're at it? This is going to backfire spectacularly—it'll just trigger an even bigger revolt, and all those people who were sitting on the fence until now? They're gonna flip hard toward the independence movement. Just great.

Unfortunately, you’re right; both sides are acting like children on a playground.

Watching this stupidity unfold, I honestly can't wrap my head around how much of a mess both sides are making of things.

It’s as if they haven't seen at least ten examples over the last forty years of how these types of situations inevitably end.

Honestly, just give them their own sports teams to compete separately and grant them more autonomy regarding how their slice of the budget is allocated.

Call the region California or whatever else you want.

Keep the federal government, the military, the diplomatic corps, and our overall influence in Europe and across the globe intact.

Instead, we have these fools picking fights and tearing the country apart without even realizing how lucky they actually have it.

And the worst part? They don't even know why they're doing it.

Well...

I don't think there really is such a thing as a neutral party here. Since this whole independence debate isn't some brand-new issue that popped up yesterday, I guess people have had plenty of time to weigh their options and decide whether they're for or against it.

self-defense said:People in D.C. are claiming that tons of Californians are actually against independence, but if that's true, where are they? I mean, why aren't they out there protesting? It feels like there's absolutely no sign of them at all.

A live stream of protesters in New York City—there are hundreds of thousands carrying both American and local flags, calling for national unity and demanding that Ted Cruz be arrested! 👏

By the way, what on earth are you talking about with that "Dalmatian nation" comment? Honestly, please don't be ridiculous.

John McCain is being an absolute fool...

It’s like these people have never even tried to haggle over a used car in their lives; they clearly have no idea how actual negotiations work.😵

The only thing even more idiotic that I can conjure up would be something ridiculous, like a movement to secede Bavaria from the rest of the country or some such nonsense.

Ted Cruz's wife is truly something else...
She moved over from a Romanian militia unit back when they tied the knot in 2000, and now she’s out here trying to divide America. 🤦

Word on the street is there are over 900,000 people out in New York City right now at this Patriotic rally for national unity.
Didn't see those numbers coming... might be a slight stretch, but looking at the footage, it's pretty much spot on.
New York City is straight up burning down...

Look, that was just an ethnic group—basically a community—not some organized political nation.
The whole concept of a "political nation" didn't even really kick off until the French Revolution era, peaking much later in the 19th century.

We are Californians and Americans!

It looks like there are at least as many people showing up for unity as there were for independence protests. I guess that really throws a wrench into those theories suggesting that the 60% who stayed home during the elections just don't matter.
