After watching that Batman movie, seeing this trailer feels like I'm just watching a teaser for Despicable Me instead.😁

Kevin Brooks said:Teaser

Not sure how to put this—the humor feels a little forced to me

It seems Taika is just continuing to mess around with the whole Thor legacy, right after that "revolution" called Thor III that pretty much trashed everything we actually liked about the first two movies. But I guess cheap jokes and strong characters sell everywhere.

Especially if they’re Black, a woman, or trans

Hela broke Mjolnir, which means the hammer lost Odin's enchantment—the part that ensures anyone worthy can wield the full power of Thor, the God of Thunder. So you're right, any random person could pick it up now because the magic is gone.

Anyway, this is the first MCU film that reminds me painfully of that disaster *What If...?*. I really hope I'm wrong.

The teaser was underwhelming. There's absolutely zero hype compared to all those Doctor Strange 2 trailers.

Okay, this was a few years back so my memory isn't exactly top-tier, so I could easily be tripping... but didn't that get "fixed" after what Hela did?? If anyone could just lift it, there wouldn't have been that massive hype in Endgame when Captain America finally grabbed it, right?

I can't say for certain, but my best guess is that Odin's curse from Thor 1 kicked in right after Hela smashed the hammer. I just don't see Jane as someone who'd be worthy of Mjolnir—though maybe I'm wrong, since she hasn't shown any real malice so far.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it actually plays out.

Cap lifted the Mjolnir from 2013—it still had its enchantment and hadn't been shattered yet. It doesn't get broken until a few years later in Ragnarok.

In the trailer, Jane lifts the shattered Mjolnir from the main timeline—the one that lost its magic after Hela smashed it to pieces.

Oh, I get it now... So Mjolnir actually isn't some big deal anymore? Then why the hell are they showing it in the trailer lol. And what happened to that axe from Infinity War?

The absolute highlight of that trailer has to be "Sweet Child O' Mine." Honestly, everything else they showed just looks pretty mediocre.

Literally, Thor and that axe are right there in the thumbnail for the Thor 4 teaser. LMAO

Honestly, what kind of nonsense are you all spouting? Little Matilda earned Mjolnir ages ago; she’s got more grit in her pinky finger than any of you pampered elitists combined...🥳

I suppose it'll end up being one of those typical feel-good movies.
I can't tell if Portman actually bulked up or if it’s just some kind of visual trickery. I noticed Mjolnir looks like it was cobbled together from scraps, too. 😁

The moment you include the Guardians, you can assume it's a feel-good flick.
Marvel is clearly aiming for the widest possible audience.

New trailer

This honestly doesn't look good.
And if they go ahead and kill him off—since it says there WAS a god now—just to swap him out for some female version, I guess I'm officially done with Marvel.

It’s incredibly colorful and looks pretty fun at first glance.

Balancing all that visual noise, Bale could honestly be a terrifying villain.

I just really hope Taika’s actual message doesn't get buried under all that kitsch.

Christian Bale 🙏 🙏
He's the one I'm actually looking forward to.

The makeup looks incredible. Bale looks just like Gorr—honestly, you can’t go wrong when he’s cast. I’m really glad they went with practical effects and prosthetics instead of relying on cheap CGI.

Personally, I think it misses the mark. He just looks like Bale playing dress-up, not the terrifying God Butcher we're expecting.

This looks absolutely terrible.[/I]

Seriously, this is just complete garbage. Watching that trailer felt like I was looking at some low-budget parody rather than a major release. It’s hard not to think back to how much hype the God of War Ragnarok trailer actually generated... but hey, I guess we'll see what happens.

I think it's fine. Honestly, better than Thanos and that crowd. You can basically say that about any role at this point. I guess it just comes down to what people prefer.😉
To be fair, when I first saw the picture—before the trailer actually dropped—I didn't even realize who it was. I thought they were those characters from the Star Wars Eclipse trailer, the ones beating on the drums. What a mess.

🙂 I suppose we could attempt a bit of levity here, though I fear this situation has already devolved into nothing more than a complete caricature.

Honestly, everything except those two (Portman and Gorr) feels like a cartoon to me. I can't stand Taika's style. It’s not just that the humor is excessive; it’s like watching a kid go feral in a candy store.
