lonegardener said:I hear you, but why? 🤷 Personally, I don't have any burning desire to be a woman for even a single day. Especially not a gorgeous woman who has every guy in town tripping over themselves to get her attention. 🤣

I mean, if we're talking fantasies, I'd much rather be able to fly through the sky and hurl fireballs around. LOL.

Or okay, maybe something a bit more "realistic." I’d like to spend three weeks being the oldest son, three weeks as the middle child in a family of fourteen, three weeks as the baby of the family, three weeks as one of two identical twins, three weeks as a famous actor, three weeks as a Nobel laureate, three weeks as a heavy machinery operator, three weeks as the CEO of ExxonMobil, three weeks as Roger Federer... basically, any version of all those incredible things I'll never be. I'd choose all of those before spending even three weeks as a woman (and then there's all the different versions—the busty blonde, the intellectual with no curves, the overweight lady with a mustache, etc.).

See, I don't get why you think "being a man" is such a simple, singular thing. Like, if you were "a man" for three weeks, you'd supposedly "know" how it feels? Not really. You'd know what it's like to be THAT specific man, and nothing else. You still wouldn't know what it's like to be in my shoes. 🤣

True. But those statistical trends, as I mentioned, don't mean much for a specific individual in a specific set of circumstances, regardless of gender.

Interesting. For me, sitting down is the way to go—keeps things from splashing everywhere. 🤣

Besides, women can pee standing up too. 🤷 Just head out into the wilderness where you're totally alone and don't have to worry about "aiming"... and just enjoy the freedom, LOL.

Look, it is indisputable that every person is unique, and some are certainly more unique than others, 😬 but there are certain biological and gendered traits shared by all women and all men.
Generally speaking, humans share far more commonalities—species-level traits—than differences. It is only that our differences capture more attention because they constitute our personality and individuality.
The *differentia specifica* is what draws the eye and distinguishes one concept from another, or one person from another, allowing for differentiation. However, the specific difference that sets a concept apart from its closest "genus" covers much less ground than the commonalities they share.

That would suffice for me; in society, nothing is ever 100%.

Exactly. But those statistical indicators, as I mentioned, are of little importance to a specific individual in a specific situation, regardless of gender.

I disagree. As I stated above, we simply pay more attention to differences because they are naturally more striking and interesting.

Interesting. Personally, I prefer to pee sitting down so I don't make a mess everywhere. 🤣

Besides, women can pee standing up too. 🤷 Just head out into nature where nobody can see you and you don't have to "aim"... and enjoy the freedom, LOL.

Do you pee sitting down?🤣🤣🤣
I could, but I’d likely end up making a mess of myself, and that isn't exactly a goal of mine.:P

I guess the real trick is just accepting who you are and playing the hand you were dealt. For men and women alike, it’s about leaning into your own strengths. You can't spend your life wishing you were someone else, because let's be real—the grass isn't actually greener on the other side. That’s just a trick our restless souls play on us.
You aren't going to get a shot at living someone else's life, so you might as well put in the work on your own. Tend to your own garden, I mean. Water it, prune it, take care of it. If you do that, you won't find yourself looking over the fence wishing for some mythical perfection or better scenery elsewhere. Just a little metaphor for you... 🙂

Right now, immediately—besides the poll, where else can I sign?

Maybe this sounds a bit chauvinistic, but honestly? I’m glad I wasn't born a woman...

Yeah, there are some perks. Just look at the Titanic or Katyn—men took the brunt of it while women were spared. And sure, nowadays women in the West are doing great and have plenty of protections, but let's be real, that's only about one-sixth of the global population. In most parts of the world, women are treated like second-class citizens, and in some places, it gets even darker with female infanticide.

When it comes to sex, things are even more skewed for women. Seriously, even an average-looking woman can find someone for a hookup way easier than a good-looking guy can—assuming she isn't being picky. Men almost never say no to sex, but then they deal with the fallout, which usually comes from other women rather than men. You know, that "slut" label.

The result is that women constantly have to lie or hide stuff about their private lives because men tend to brag about everything openly.

a) A guy sleeps with 10 girls—he's a player.
b) A girl sleeps with 10 guys—she's a slut.
It's totally unfair, but that's just how it is.

Because of all that, being a woman feels like driving a car with the handbrake on. There's just not enough freedom, even here in the States.

Are we really suggesting women were spared during the Katyn massacre?! That isn't even the point here—though I am fairly certain that crimes against humanity there were inflicted upon women in ways that were just as equal, if not more brutal.

As it stands, this is a space for women to express themselves—primarily through the poll and then by explaining their choices. I suppose a male perspective is welcome too (provided it isn't incredibly demeaning or the kind of trashy, low-effort posts that get you banned), but the core intent of this topic isn't really designed for that.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't have even chimed in if it weren't for the discussion regarding Katyn. Truly. A brief detour off-topic is fine by me; I don't hold it against you. 🙂

I mean... I’d love to experience just one day as a man, if I’m being honest.
It’s purely for superficial reasons, really—mostly just wanting to know what it feels like to actually have sex with a dick.🤷

Oops, am I allowed to be this blunt on this forum? 🙂 😬

... I guess what I find both depressing and somewhat fascinating about this entire discussion is my own disbelief that any man would ever actually start a thread like this by flipping the question on its head...

It really just speaks to who has it easier in life. 🙄

Look, like I said before, there are people out there who just aren't happy with their gender. Whether they're men or women, they really need to work through that. Honestly, being a woman is great—just incredible. If you can learn how to own it and make the most of who you are, you'll see. And by the way, Michael Jordan—the kind of guy who sleeps around constantly—isn't exactly seen as a big deal by society anymore. On the flip side, a woman isn't automatically labeled a slut either; it really just depends on how she does things, who she’s with, and the context. Just look at a bunch of Hollywood actresses. Plenty of them have had tons of partners, yet nobody ever thinks to label them as sluts. Why is that? It’s because these women have this charisma, talent, or success that basically overshadows their lifestyle. They build such strong personalities that their flaws or "vices" just get lost in the shuffle. Think about it—how many partners have Madonna, Angelina Jolie, or Demi Moore had? I mean, I've never heard anyone in my circle call them names like that. Usually, they just get called eccentric, creative, or charismatic. So, to all the women out there who aren't happy with their gender: just know that it’s all in your head. Seriously, it starts and ends in your mind. Our successes, our failures, our complexes, and our limits—it all comes from within. The whole goal is to get past those mental hurdles.

Look, I didn't actually call them sluts, but people just keep insisting on it, unfortunately...

Madonna is Madonna. Even if Taylor Swift from that local High School for Business and Finance was sleeping with ten different guys, she’d get that same label—and it wouldn't even be coming from the guys, it would be from other girls...

I have to disagree; the existence of transvestites is living proof of that.🙂

Well... yeah.😁

And honestly, seeing a little bit of mischief thrown in would be interesting too. I don't know, I guess I'm just curious.😳

You are one of the rare individuals who thinks this way. Perhaps the grass isn't greener next door, but at least it doesn't involve monthly bleeding and pain... and even some conservative women would likely prefer to be men, much like those deceased female infants in China. It is an undeniable fact that, globally, women are mostly treated as second-class citizens or even animals. To make matters worse, nature saw fit to ensure we are the ones giving birth and that we are physically more vulnerable.
Those are the core issues here. No one suggested being a woman is worse simply because of emotions, nor did anyone claim men don't face their own struggles. Let's not twist the argument.

Precisely. There is zero chance a man would vote this way. They are perfectly content; they've essentially hit the jackpot, and now they simply sit back in satisfied silence, smirking at those of us who aren't quite so lucky.😁

However, those are merely exceptions that prove the rule. If you watch any documentary regarding human rights violations, you will notice that women and children are almost always the central figures. This has nothing to do with whether you feel "fantastic" at any given moment. I have previously noted that I would happily be a woman if one could simply transfer the burdens of menstruation and childbirth onto men. I am not a masochist; those specific female inconveniences are far from "super," especially when I need to get to work or run errands but cannot even get out of bed due to pain.

😂

On average, men are...

* physically: taller, faster, heavier, more athletic, stronger
* mentally: more intelligent, more creative

That’s just the average, though. There is one thing that isn't average, which applies to every single woman and absolutely no man: childbirth pain—and, I guess, a generally higher susceptibility to illnesses, especially STDs (which are the worst).

Alright, look, period pains are basically one of those top-tier struggles that guys just don't get. But check this out—imagine a cop pulls over a woman who gives him a sweet, charming smile and maybe some flirting, and he lets her off with a warning. What happens if he catches a guy doing the exact same thing? He gets a ticket, obviously. It’s happened a million times. I'm not saying every cop falls for it, but plenty do, I guess.
And then there's the whole thing where a woman can have an emotional meltdown or act totally hysterical, and people won't even question her mental stability because they just chalk it up to "PMS." Meanwhile, if a guy showed those same symptoms, he’d be labeled a total psycho immediately.
Then you've got the whole homosexuality thing. Nowadays, seeing two women kissing is pretty standard, right? But what happens when a mob sees two guys making out? They'll tear them apart with all sorts of slurs.
We also shouldn't overlook how much women can manipulate situations. Honestly, that whole "intimacy manipulation" is a tool some women use, and it's something a man really has to work for to navigate.
Btw, Jamie Jackson3, regarding those countries you mentioned where women are treated like second-class citizens—those are just oppressive places. From a young age, they basically crush a woman's self-worth. But even there, you find women who, regardless of the laws or traditions, have enough grit, willpower, and brains to fight their way toward becoming first-class citizens.
One more thing—are we Americans even qualified to judge other cultures objectively? Can we truly grasp life "on the other side"? And to what extent? For instance, everyone assumes Muslim women in burkas are oppressed in their own homes, but there was this Western scholar who argued the complete opposite. She claimed that by wearing the burka, these women are actually showing self-respect, and that their husbands actually respect them quite a bit at home. Have we ever considered that we might view Muslim women as being manipulated by men just because we show our bodies, which makes them look at us like sexual objects? To them, that might seem degrading. So, in their eyes, maybe we’re the ones treated like second-class citizens in our own society.
So, I just want to point out how cultural misunderstandings can lead to all sorts of prejudices and wrong conclusions.
I know the world I live in isn't perfect, and yeah, there are definitely cultures where women aren't respected, but things are moving in the right direction. Women are becoming more aware and empowered. And don't think it's easier for men, either—they don't deal with pregnancy or periods. At the end of the day, if a woman doesn't want to have kids, she has the choice to decide that, and that's it. Nobody can force you to give birth if you don't want to. Physically, guys might seem to have the upper hand, but let's not forget they're more prone to cardiovascular issues. Plus, women have pills for everything now, even to stop periods altogether. Science and medicine are doing a lot to make our female struggles easier to handle.
