Bobis, you’ve even got an office over at the Los Angeles Lakers, right near the Microsoft headquarters.

No sense in overthinking things if you don't want to 😉

Ladies, has anyone here actually tried those ABSUM cookies from the bakery in Columbus? I’m thinking about placing an order since they seemed pretty decent when I grabbed some on a whim...

We were torn between them and mus, but ended up going with mus. They were just slightly better.
Not that ABSUM is bad. Honestly, who actually eats wedding cookies? At my wedding, half of them were left over.😬

It's just like you said—they're fine. But honestly? Nothing special.

Hmm... I think I’d probably go with mus too... there's just something about them that feels like they're the real deal, you know? Like, they actually taste authentic. And honestly—well, if nothing else—these other options are definitely easier on the wallet!🤷

There isn't much of a gap between mus and ABSUM. Mus runs $20/kg, while ABSUM is $18/kg. I wouldn't call them gourmet pastries, but personally, I thought they were quite good—and so did everyone else who actually bothered to eat them 🙂

I finally managed to get through to my mom and convince her that having 65 to 70 pounds of cake sitting out on the tables is just overkill... we really don't need that much, and that's just for the hotel catering alone. Thank God,

My mom and my mother-in-law totally dropped the ball on ordering any desserts.
So now we're stuck with whatever happens to be listed on the hotel menu.
(Just one wedding cake, some mediocre pastries, and maybe some cobbler)

(And honestly, once everything gets too 🙄 over there, it's not even worth it)

When we get back home, we’ll probably just have some homemade cookies and donuts that the family whips up—because let's face it, nothing beats the real deal anyway 😁)

I’ve been mulling over this idea lately—instead of just scattering cookies all over the tables, what if we arranged them alongside some fresh fruit? You know, more like a high-end buffet spread

The thing is, everyone I talk to is trying to convince me that it’s a terrible idea altogether 😕
Is that actually true? I’d love to hear your honest thoughts on this 😉

I’m honestly skipping the dessert table entirely. I’ll wait until the right moment rolls around. 😁
(Meaning when the actual cake is served.)

Though, I guess I'll coordinate with catering to make sure they have some sweets on hand if guests start asking for them early.

I haven't done this at any wedding I've been to, and there's always a mountain of leftovers.
To me, it's just a total waste of money.
(And even if I did get a little goody bag to take home, half of it would probably end up in the trash anyway. 🤷)

I actually got into it with my mom about this a few times, but once she heard how much people actually throw away after everything gets split up, 😲 she finally had to see things my way.

fas, I am completely on your side here—those little finger foods left sitting out on the tables never actually get eaten; they just end up being tossed in the trash later on. 🙄

In my neck of the woods, it’s pretty common to bring over entire boxes of cookies when you're visiting someone's home, and honestly, I think that's a much better way to go about it.

We’re somewhere in the middle. We had about 20 kilos worth for 14 tables plus our own—that’s 30 plates total.😁

We’re just gonna grab the cookies and cake from Mus... honestly, I’m way more into their cookies than the ones at Absum because they aren't these massive, overwhelming slabs; the pieces at Absum are always so huge that looking at them alone makes me lose my appetite before I even start eating. Now, don't get me wrong, the cake at Absum is actually better—I tried their Black Forest and it was killer, not all dry and crumbly like most places do... The cake at Mus is decent enough, but nothing to write home about. In the end, the cookies won us over so we went with Mus. Plus, the owner is super friendly and easy to talk to when you're trying to coordinate everything, which was a huge factor for me... I've got round tables set up in the hall, so I'm planning on getting a kilo per table—basically half a kilo for each side—since there'll be about 7 to 9 people sitting at each one. Hopefully, that ratio works out okay...

People are just going to be too lazy to get up and grab sweets, and then they won't eat anything at all...

I actually went to this wedding recently where they had a dedicated dessert table, and I have to say, people didn't seem to mind the extra walk at all—though, I suppose some might find it a little awkward to leave their seats...

Or maybe they're more like me—you just grab an empty plate, pile it high with whatever looks good, bring it back to your table, and everyone digs in from there...
