I actually have a dictionary from 1983—an old Youth edition printed in Chicago—and everything was censored back then in the South, and the definition provided is exactly as listed above.
And if you dig through even older dictionaries, you'll find these same meanings for words dating back centuries, even thousands of years—words used by the ancient Latin people that form the very roots of our language, terms defined by Roman law. This whole trend of equating nationalism with chauvinism? That’s really just something that started in the last few years, pushed by certain "intellectuals," pseudo-writers, and hardline old-school communists. Given enough time, I bet they'll manage to bake those definitions into future editions of the dictionary too... 🙂

Just think about it... how many average people have ever actually sat down and read a dictionary from cover to cover? Very few.

Take Pamela Anderson, for example. She wasn't exactly "brilliant" initially, but then she got wise, leaned into the look, and turned it into a massive career... now that’s being smart! She had an asset, and she cashed it in.😂
