So, who was it that messed this all up, you little logic-nerd?

"that which exists—even when everyone claims it exists—is nothing more than an illusion used to trick people into believing they’ve grasped something beyond human comprehension, just because they've 'ascended' a level of consciousness?"

Are you deceiving yourself just so you don't feel like you're deceiving yourself?🙂 😠

No, actually, if you had bothered to take a single second of your time to actually read what was written, you might have realized that the quote was directed at you... personally. I am not one of those people who believes in "reason"... whatever that is...

Similarly, I'm not one of those types who pretends everything is one with the universe just so they can act enlightened while spitting on everyone else for not "getting it"... as if they've reached some peak and we're all just stuck behind... which allows them to dismiss any coherent thought... (an eye for an eye, obviously)

If I were to follow that line of reasoning, I could easily end this whole debate by claiming we're all just fantasizing anyway... and honestly, I won't bother trying to pose questions to anyone else, including myself, if I have to explain it like that... because you can't really define or explain a fantasy...

And whether I'm just plain crazy or not doesn't even matter... because I don't truly exist anyway... though perhaps there's just a "program" running a "simulation" of me...🙂

If I haven't been clear, feel free to ask... and I will try to clarify...

—I am searching for something here, but what I see more and more is that the collective enlightenment quotient on this thread is roughly on par with the bottom layers of a discarded mattress.
___________________________

Well, you aren't wrong.

Gaudrath:
____________________________
Look, I came here to offer some wisdom, but people, what you are doing is giving me gray hairs. From John, who takes a koan from a book and declares it a non-koan (when it actually concerns Japanese Zen master Muju),
____________________________

Put the book aside when you are standing before a living MASTER, Gaudrathe.
It isn't a KOAN, nor can it ever be.

Master John provided the implicit definition of a KOAN in his last "post" just for you.
Simply out of respect for the dignity of that Zen MASTER, why don't you double-check whether the story mentioned in his text is CLEARLY MARKED as a KOAN, or if you are merely calling it that because of the BOOK TITLE or perhaps a specific chapter heading.

Gaudrath:
____________________________
—all the way up to Grizlijev, who is trying to convince me that enlightenment is achieved simply by putting a ponytail on your head and—waiting.
___________________________

Enlightenment "as such" imposes NO CONDITIONS, Gaudrathe.
Therefore, Grizlijev’s point stands 100%.

Gaudrath:
____________________________
—that might even be true, provided we bore the universe so much that it forces enlightenment upon us after ten thousand incarnations.
_____________________________

That is beautifully put.

And America will join the EU whether it wants to or not.
They will force us inside once we finally "bore" them enough.

Gaudrath:
____________________________
Then why does Buddha's path exist... if one does not "walk" it?
_____________________________

Human language, Gaudrathe, is a product of human DUALISTIC consciousness.
Furthermore, a language of NON-DUALITY is not possible in and of itself.
Consequently, these "paths" that "are not walked" are merely a desperate "CONCESSION" to human "conditioned" communication.
The INEFFABLE cannot be expressed by any means whatsoever.
That is why Master John emphasizes this as being "desperate."

Gaudrath:
____________________________
Buddha certainly walked it; enlightenment didn't just fall from the sky onto his head... it was a quest, and in every quest—one goes somewhere and arrives somewhere, even if your body never leaves its chair.
______________________________

The MASTER'S comment here is identical to his earlier reflection on the nature of THOUGHT and UNDERSTANDING.
Both "QUEST" and "PATH" are categories of "this world," Gaudrathe.
While it may APPEAR that he "walked" the "path of the quest," it is true that for Gautama Buddha, both that "path" and that "quest" were part of the "mundane" experience of perceiving THAT WHICH IS.

When REALIZATION poured over his head, LETTER BY LETTER, how could he possibly depict the previous "path" and "quest"?
With what IZRICAJIM?
With what COSMIC DICTION, Gaudrathe?

Gaudrath:
__________________________________________________ ___________
People... uh. Regardless, I'm tearing it all down.
___________________________________

Tear it down, then come back again.
That is precisely the APPARENT "path" and "quest" in YOUR case.😢

I honestly can't tell if Jose Reyes will come to this realization on his own... because if he does, doesn't that just prove the Buddha wasn't actually enlightened?

Look, you can't truly understand anything without facing it head-on. We have to confront our own illusions because there's simply no avoiding them. That’s exactly why the quest is necessary in the first place. It isn't a search *for* enlightenment—enlightenment is actually the *result* of finally coming face-to-face with those illusions. Every action has a reaction.

Furthermore, I am certainly not one of those people who pretends to have reached some state of enlightenment just to make everyone else look foolish, acting as if I’ve grasped some grand truth while the rest of you remain in the dark...

It would be highly beneficial for you to distinguish just one thing, Unknown.
Is the MASTER delivering this message to you telling the TRUTH, or is he not?

If he IS, then he isn't "spitting on anyone"; rather, he is teaching you all in his own way about things you simply don't understand yet.

If he ISN'T, then again, he isn't "spitting on anyone," he has simply lost his mind and crashed onto this "Forum."
The poor man.

The third possibility is also worth considering.
And if even just the TWO of you can determine whether the person before you is a TRUE MASTER, it would be of immense help, Unknown.

Is the MASTER who is telling you this actually TRUTHFUL, or isn't he?

If he IS, then he isn't "spitting on anyone," he’s simply teaching you all in his own way about things you simply don't understand yet.

If he ISN'T, then again, he isn't "spitting on anyone," he’s just lost his mind and wandered onto our "Forum."
Poor guy...

The third analogy is also valid.
And if even the TWO of us doubt whether he is a TRUE MASTER before you, he is helping immensely, Kate Lee12...

just for the sake of it: the post title is a few questions, followed by several if-then statements and a single question mark...

I am not doubting; I am certain that I am striving to perceive something that exists outside the "framework" of perception itself, or rather, that I lack the "tools" to perceive it (regardless of how you choose to comment on this, I forgive you in advance 😁)

if teaching consists of forcing people to think, then that is perfectly fine, especially since we "should" stick to this: it doesn't matter if you point someone toward thinking like you, but rather that they think...

Can there truly be any understanding without confrontation? We are forced to face our illusions head-on, simply because avoiding them is an impossibility.

YOU alone are nothing more than an ILLUSION,
And your so-called "SELF" is merely a CLUSTER OF ILLUSIONS.
If you begin a "search" in such a manner, you are merely inviting Schizophrenia into your own soul.
If you attempt to fracture your identity—to split your very SELF into an ILLUSION designed to dismantle another ILLUSION—it will feel as though a vampire is draining your life force away.

Within this HELLISH "revelation" lies the functional "secret" behind every "established" faith and "religiosity" in existence, Gaudrathe.
Because of this SCHIZOPHRENIA, the master of deception, John, denies even Buditi, Jesus, and Muhammad any claim to ENLIGHTENMENT, Parsifal.

In reality, Buditi, Jesus, and Muhammad are the true architects of HELL on this EARTH.

For they were the ones who first ignited HELL within our very souls.😕 🙄 😉

The school of "waiting" has been a legitimate pillar of spirituality since the beginning of time.

It has absolutely nothing to do with importing Eastern concepts into the West, Gaudrathe. 😎 😎

Based on what you just wrote... are you implying that "enlightenment" has absolutely nothing to do with "spirituality"? (I added extra question marks this time 😁)...

Splitting yourself up—tearing your own being apart into one illusion just to debunk another—is basically asking to be drained like a vampire's victim.

Yeah. 🙏
I stopped having those internal monologues a while back.😁
It was exhausting: honestly, it felt like sitting through some endless, pointless seminar where they drone on from Monday to Friday but never actually get past the introduction.

Hey Kate, do you even have a clue what on earth "spirituality" actually means? 🤔
Kick me if I'm wrong, but I honestly don't grasp the definition of that word at all... 😁
It seems like every single person you ask will give you a completely different answer. 😂

Kick me with a horseshoe if I’m wrong about this... 😁
No matter who you ask, everyone’s got a different story to tell... 😂

No, like she said herself... everyone is on a completely different wavelength. Look, she’s actually out there writing that this whole school of "waiting" is the only way to finally reach "that"... whatever that is...
😁

As far as I can tell, horses rarely wait around... they simply have too much momentum to just stop mid-stride... 😁

So that we don't have this mentioned... whatever... 🙂

Where on earth are you seeing any "spirituality," Kate Lee12?😛

Good grief... is this forum not considered spiritual?
(And I mean that without the quotes 😁)

My question was simply whether what was written was meant as an assertion, or just a momentary bit of info regarding legitimacy? (In response to Gaudrath)

I mean, if it's considered legitimate to just "wait" for the sake of "spirituality," then where is the enlightenment in that... or rather, does that equate to being "spiritual" according to what was stated...? (Or to put it more clearly, does waiting somehow make one more spiritual, or lead to enlightenment?...)

Nothing else interested me...

Kate Lee12 said:no, just like she said, everyone’s looking at this from a totally different angle... she mentioned that this whole "waiting room" phase is basically how you finally arrive at "that"... whatever that actually means.
😁

Honestly, in that waiting period, you just get hit with sudden clarity out of nowhere, and there's nothing you can do about it.
I guess I'm just trying to wrap my head around what spirituality even is.
It's become such a massive buzzword lately, but for three years now, I still haven't been able to pin down what it actually signifies...😁
