Just white meat and the bun.

And kale.

There was this interview recently with some guy about how Domino's Pizza was supposed to expand here, but obviously everything stalled because of the pandemic. They were supposedly planning to head to the US for some kind of training...

Oh, and

The best fast food I've ever had was probably Taco Bell.

Quite the gourmet, aren't you?

I wouldn't touch that even if I were starving.

I honestly think the meat at Mac's is solid. I mean, it's Gavrilovic making it anyway, so if you're into their winter selection or anything else they put out, this should be right up your alley.

Like, "good" as in it won't kill you? 😁 I wouldn't go on about the flavors—it's one of those things where some people love it and others don't. Personally, I think Say KFC is amazing, but they mostly just do chicken there, so it's a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison.

When it comes to burgers in Washington, D.C., I'm totally obsessed with Submarine.

The only reason I ever hit up McDonald's is for a quick ice cream or some fries. Everything else they serve just tastes incredibly bland and repetitive. In Miami, there are endless fast-food spots offering much better quality for basically the same price. Places like Kaleta are cheaper and infinitely more delicious. And that’s not even touching on the higher-end options...

Down at the end of Marmont, there's a Pizza Hut. $4.00 Man, that looks like a killer little pizza. Personally, I probably hit up McDonald's maybe twice a year; I always feel like it’s a bit overrated. If I’m actually looking to get full, I’ll usually spend my money elsewhere. $33Better to just stay quiet.
Is it better to go with some cevapi or just grab a real burger?

What’s the name of that fast food joint right under the tower at the square? You know, the one where you get those massive loaded baked potatoes and they give you whatever sauce you want in little cups. They are seriously good. The portions are absolutely huge 🙏

This is the text that restlesssurfer97 wrote.

They’re "to blame" because they insisted on keeping those customs officers at the borders from Canada and Canada who ended up jobless after we joined the EU back in July 2013. They’re "to blame" for wanting to keep the staff who were handing out birth, death, and marriage certificates at the counters until June 2016, even though you can just grab all those records online now. And apparently, they're "to blame" because while maybe 200,000 private sector workers lost their jobs between 2008 and 2013, they allowed 11,000 people to be hired in the public sector.

Man, this whole thing is just pure jealousy. People just need to get to work. I’m really hoping Anderlon recognizes the opportunity here and hires me and restlesssurfer9 to handle issuing registration credentials for the forum.

Domino's Pizza is absolute garbage; it’s like buying that Dr. Oetker stuff at Lidl and just tossing it in the oven. That’s basically their whole business model. And Subway? They barely made a dent in Europe—that's not even an exaggeration. In major cities, you might find maybe five locations, and they kept their prices just as high in Berlin as they did in Washington, D.C., so they're headed for another collapse...

I never doubted for a second that Sportivo - Burggeliere belongs to that category of "elite burgers," where they grill a patty right in front of you 🤣, but let's be real: it's just that pre-ground meat from Walmart that everyone uses for cheap patties—basically scraps of scraps. They pretend to make them themselves because it's cheaper to shape a patty and slap a "handmade" label on it than to actually buy quality meat; they get the ground beef for $6.75/lb, turn it into a patty for $10/lb, and then serve it to you like it's some Subway sandwich meant to be eaten on the run $13. To actually get full at YS, you have to drop $23 on a single damn Burger
.
I eat at Kremenko, MekPers, and places like that myself, but purely just for the variety...

And then you have people talking about marketing geniuses. They can tell the difference between a $20 burger and a $13, but the only thing they really feel is the hit to their wallet 🤣

Look, there’s a massive difference in meat quality when you compare a McDonald's or Burger King burger to something from Subway or Brewbites (which hasn't been mentioned yet, but I think they're awesome!)—it's honestly night and day. 🤷

I’m not saying whether it's "worth it" or not, because I guess that’s not really what we're debating here, and I basically agree with GQ that everything is fine and you get what you pay for, but man, the difference is definitely there.

And if you’re getting "bite-sized" portions at Subway, then I really don't know where else you're supposed to go to get full, because their burgers—especially the double versions—are like twice the size of what you get at McDonald's (which usually serves those tiny little things, unless it's a special deal like the Big Tasty).

MekPers is totally overrated. You just end up with paper-thin meat and a burger bun that feels like chewing on rubber.

For a split second there, I honestly thought you had Dylan Dog in your avatar...

I feel like my generation and I were almost completely bypassed when it comes to comics. It’s especially true for those "Classics" that previous generations seemed to be totally obsessed with back during the old days. I guess we just missed out, maybe?

Alright, so that whole thing above was just a joke. I mean, I know what Dylan Dog looks like, but honestly, it was only because of some outside pressure—you know, those trivia games—and not because I’ve actually read it. So, in the context of this comment, I don't really care. 😁

I gave a few of those things a shot—not Dylan Dog specifically, though that one definitely holds massive status globally—but honestly, after trying something like Alan Ford, my only takeaway is that its cult following mostly comes from the fact that it was one of the only options available back then. It’s kind of sad, really, whenever I see people trying to compare it to something like Watchmen. 🤷

Of course, I totally get why that take is causing such a massive stir over on Reddit, so honestly, it’s probably better if the trolls don't even bother starting. 🤣

Honestly, comics just aren't really my thing at all. I guess they're just totally unappealing as a way to pass the time. If I had to rank every form of art out there based on what I actually like, comics would definitely be sitting right at the very bottom of the list, man. 😢

Honestly, Burger King is worse than McDonald's.

At least McDonald's tastes decent.

This stuff is just gross.

If you can actually feel full off a single YS burger that costs about $17, I honestly don't know how big you are or how much food you can actually put away.
If you opt for the double version, though, you're looking at roughly $22, and once you add in some French fries and a soda, you're hitting $33 just for some ground beef and bread. You could market that as whatever you want and still make a profit.

It's usually just pure fashion statements, because once someone jacks up the price, everyone just accepts it as the new norm...

The McPers is actually pretty good for the price. It’s kind of a heavy, bread-focused burger, which I personally like. Honestly, I could probably just eat the bun. They don't seem to be skimping on the size, whereas a lot of other places do. The only annoying thing is that those jerks only take cash, and there isn't an ATM anywhere near there.

In my entire life, I haven’t stepped foot in a single fast food chain, except for a quick stop at Mustard in Argentina back when I was completely broke and it was the only affordable way to stave off hunger for a few days.
I consider avoiding places like McD's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC, and similar establishments—which essentially prostitute the very idea of nourishment—to be an essential part of maintaining one's mental hygiene.☕.

Sure, a burger and some French fries might fill you up, and hey, I guess I'm not exactly a giant. 😁 But I'm not even talking about the price here, and it's not even my main concern as long as the quality justifies what I'm paying. It just seems like I can't get through to you because you've got that classic, narrow-minded "price gouging" comeback ready for everything. And honestly, there's no counter to that, right? Checkmate, I guess. You win.

I always assumed we’d been around here for years. I never missed out on the comic book scene; I spent plenty of time getting lost in the work of those Italian artists, and back when I was just a kid, I was totally hooked on that Mr. Nova collection my uncle used to collect. Dylan Dog is an absolute institution to me—as for Watchmen, I honestly don't even know what that is. 🤔
