Has anyone here actually dealt with Fevarin before? My doctor switched me over to it instead of Lexapro. From what I gather, it’s my first go at an SSRI. Currently sitting at 300 mg a day... just trying to figure out what to expect.

I used to take one tablet every evening. For the first two weeks, I dealt with terrible insomnia and nausea, but eventually, the medication started to kick in. Once those side effects subsided, I increased my dosage to one and a half tablets and felt fine again, but now I am struggling once more—mentally speaking.🙄

I've actually had really positive results—it started kicking in after just two days. I felt a bit drowsy at first, but that passed, and it works wonders for anxiety too.👍

My jaw simply locked up whenever I was around him.

Quick question: has anyone here dealt with Lexapro before? Does it mess with your focus at all?
So, I just got diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. My psychiatrist put me on 10 mg of Lexapro every morning, plus half a Xanax when things get really intense... Since my finals are coming up at the end of August, I'm wondering if these meds will have any major side effects. Just trying to prep for whatever comes my way! Also—how long does it actually take for the Lexapro to kick in? I read somewhere online that you might feel pretty lousy during the first week, but that it starts working after about three weeks—which would actually be perfect timing since that hits right during my most stressful stretch... That's basically everything I've gathered about Lexapro so far. If anyone else has some firsthand experience, please let me know 🙂

Lexapro might make you feel drowsy during those initial couple of weeks, though that isn't a universal rule. In my case, it definitely made me sleepy, so my doctor decided to cut my dose in half. While my symptoms have cleared up, I don't feel like the effectiveness is quite where it needs to be yet, so I think I'll ask about moving back up to the full dose. Aside from that, I'm not taking anything else.

Honestly, I feel like I’m reading the same headline over and over again lately—some college student struggling with mental health issues and relying on tranquilizers just to get by! 🙂

It almost seems like getting through a degree in this country is impossible without a prescription in hand. Haha.

p.s. And yeah, I suppose I’m one of those students myself. Just an American grad trying to make it. 👍

I only stayed on Prozac for about a week. Honestly, I felt drunk the entire time and my stomach was doing flips, so they pulled me off it. Now I'm on Seroquel instead.
On top of all that, the insomnia was just killing me. I couldn't even close my eyes for a second all night long.

But hey, we aren't all built the same way, and everyone reacts differently to meds. Maybe it'll work for you.

Why am I being treated like this at the pharmacy when I’m just trying to pick up a medication my specialist specifically prescribed for me?

Are they asking for too much personal information and stuff like that?
I’ve been going back and forth with them over the dosage they have on file. Does anyone know how I can resolve this...
Has anyone else dealing with insomnia run into these kinds of hurdles?

Total idiots—you just got unlucky, either you ran into some jerk or they're just rookies who are too nervous to do their jobs properly...🤷

Even Ambien didn't do a thing for me...

Personally, I deal with sleep issues myself. Every single night, I find myself wide awake around 4:00 AM. And I mean every single night, without fail.
It’s starting to really get under my skin. Even if I take something, I still end up waking up...

I have a controlled prescription for Ambien, and honestly, it seems like the only thing that actually works to keep me asleep through the night. I usually have no trouble picking it up at the local CVS... it's pretty straightforward.

I was on Zeldox for a couple of months, combined with some other meds, and things actually seemed fine at first. But after a while, I just started falling apart. Constant weakness, dizzy spells, and these muscle spasms—especially around my eyes—that made it impossible to even look at anything. I went to see my doctor and all my blood work came back perfectly normal. Eventually, she told me Zeldox was the culprit and switched me over to Zyprexa. Has anyone else dealt with those kinds of side effects from Zeldox? And what’s your experience been like with this newer stuff...

I’ve been on Zeldox for five years now, and I’ve put on about 65 pounds in that time—which I guess is a "win" considering when I was on Zyprexa a decade ago, I packed on that same amount of weight in just six months. The only real nightmare is this side effect that kicked in about a year and a half ago where my muscles started seizing up, specifically in my hands and knuckles, so they put me on Cogentin to deal with the stiffness.
Right now, I’m taking 20mg, once in the morning and once at night, along with half a dose of Cogentin.

But honestly, there are no rules when it comes to psych meds; one person handles them fine while someone else gets absolutely wrecked by them. Everyone reacts differently. Back when I was on Zyprexa, I felt so bloated I looked like I’d been stung by a swarm of bees, and I had this relentless, unstoppable craving for sugar. I just couldn't stop eating. It was awful.

I’m constantly dealing with food cravings too. So yeah, I should probably brace myself for some weight gain. 😁 I already put on quite a bit while I was on Seroquel, but the main issue was how much it dilated my pupils—it got so bad it actually messed with my vision...

I’ve been taking Prozac and it seems to be working wonders for me, though I am on a combination of several different pills, so I can't quite pinpoint which one might be causing this slight fatigue—nothing too serious, though.
I also take Lamictal and Ativan.
Everything is going great so far; I haven't gained any weight, and I actually ended up losing a little bit.
If you find yourself struggling with significant weight gain, I highly recommend picking up some L-carnitine; if you pair it with even a bit of physical activity, it really helps with slimming down.

Oh, absolutely—I made my own escape from the Mayo Clinic, so seeing someone else run for the hills actually makes me chuckle. 😁

Alright, I’m looking to hear from anyone who has gone through the process of tapering off Zoloft...
What kind of experience should I be bracing myself for? 🙂

If you have been taking a high dose and decide to quit cold turkey, you should prepare yourself for intense nightmares during the night and significant irritability throughout the day.

If you choose to taper off gradually, then you might only expect somewhat unpleasant dreams during those first few nights while maintaining peace during the day.

However, if you follow a very gradual tapering process, you likely won't encounter those side effects at all.

P.S. And for the record, nobody has ever run away from me at Mayo Clinic!
