Do any of you know where I can pick up some sturdy trays with clear lids? Also, where’s the best spot to find decent deals on cookie boxes?

We picked some up at Metro for my sister's wedding. They didn't break the bank, though I can't recall the exact price point off the top of my head.

Wait, does that bakery even exist? And where on earth is it located?

It's in Kobiljak... though honestly, I have no idea where Kobiljak is, but it says Kobiljak, Suburban Chicago.

Still on the hunt for the perfect cookies... 🙄

I've received a few suggestions.

If you had to choose from this list, which would it be?

Emma's Bakery
M&M's Bakery
Tom & Anne's Suburban Chicago shop
Sweetheart Bakery

🤷

Help me out........... 😕

Does anyone have any insight into which ones are actually good and which aren't...

They ended up grabbing stuff from Emma too. They tried them and were totally obsessed! Plus, their prices are pretty standard.

My cousin actually used Heartfelt Helper; they really are the most affordable option available, and the desserts are simply wonderful...

Ugh, I honestly have no clue what kind of cake we should go with, and frankly, I don't even have the energy to deal with the whole decision!
It used to be so simple—we just had the one original version, you know? No fancy layers, no nothing, just a massive rectangular sheet cake, and that was that...

That’s basically right near the Antunovic highway area in San Jose... heading toward the suburbs... but I’ve actually never heard of that specific bakery. Usually, most people grab their stuff from Tom & Anna’s in San Jose or Hemingway’s Sweets over there too. We used to get cakes from those Hemingway guys for Seka’s communion, and they were fantastic. Back then they were like $22 a pound... now they're probably like 75 bucks or $27... but they really feel homemade and every single cake actually tastes the way it's supposed to. Plus, they’re fully licensed and everything

I actually love that idea most. I attended this wedding where they did exactly that—a white, single-tier cake that was huge. They decorated it diagonally with flowers (they used long-stemmed callas, but you could totally go with whatever you want), and it looked absolutely stunning. It was just so simple and elegant, yet it made such an impact because it was different from the usual stuff. Either way, 👍.

Thanks!! Honestly, I think that's what we're going with in the end! If anyone happens to have any inspiration photos, please feel free to post them... thx.

What’s the price per pound for the cookies and cake?

Usually, they set them up on trays at about half a pound each, which puts the price at $30/lb. If you're DIY-ing it or hiring a local catering crew, you're looking at maybe $27/lb.
As for cake, I think it's roughly $4.00 per slice (for our group of 100 people, we ended up paying about 1 $67), but honestly, it just depends on what kind of stuff you pick out..

Look, I’m usually the type of person who skips the dessert table entirely at weddings—I’m much more about those savory appetizers 😉, but even I realize that sweets are a massive part of the whole experience.
So, following some expert advice, I booked this incredible high-end bakery. Honestly, their selection is insane... the variety, the presentation, the flavor profiles... they are just divine. Basically, $20 is the price per pound, and a custom cake is $500. They have everything from parfaits and tiramisu to Black Forest—thank God, because I absolutely cannot stand those overly heavy, mushy cakes loaded with canned pineapple and peaches.
Ladies, what kind of pricing are you seeing at the confectioneries you’ve booked for your big days?

Prices fluctuate quite significantly, ranging from $60 to $40 per pound for pastries, while slices of cake typically run between $10 and $6.00. That is the general reality of it.

is it really that expensive where you guys are?
because I noticed back in $12it was roughly $33 per pound, and cake slices were easily
and up, and honestly, I have never had anything better

Those prices seem a bit steep to me... back home, finding $27 pound of anything decent feels like a total gamble, and you can find cake slices going for 18-$7.25 bucks. It’s honestly ridiculous...
