Would anyone be so kind as to share some photos of simple, single-tier, just plain "rectangular" cakes??
Thanks!

This one is mine—is this really the kind of thing you were looking for?

Honestly, I spent some time scrolling through the internet the other day looking for an image of exactly what you’re after, and you wouldn't believe it—I couldn't find a single one. Nothing. Zilch. Zero. To make matters even worse, staring at all those gorgeous, over-the-top cakes actually triggered a massive sugar craving, so I ended up ducking out of work early just to go grab some chocolate. And of course, I'm supposed to be on a diet right now.

Anyway, I'll ask my friend to send me a photo of that cake I mentioned earlier, and then I'll get back to you.

Help me out here... does anyone know where I can track down some little bride and groom figurines for a cake? I'm trying to pull off a theme inspired by that Tim Burton movie, Corpse Bride.

You can only find them online, though they aren't exactly cheap.

I'm just not sure if they actually ship here to the States.
Here are a few ideas to get you started...

Usually, for smaller wedding receptions, you plan on about 1 pound for every 8 guests, and then package them in 9-ounce portions.

Has anyone actually ordered treats from that lady over in Green Valley? I feel like I’ve been hearing about her everywhere lately... people swear her baking is incredible. Does anyone know if she lives up to the hype? And honestly, does anyone have an idea what her pricing looks like? Also, I was wondering about Sweet Treats too... if anyone has any intel on them, I'm all ears...

Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth—I mean, I’m the type who’ll happily polish off nearly a full plate at a wedding—so I definitely wouldn't want to run short...😉

In the end, I went ahead and grabbed 12 kg for 50 people.

I just put in an order with Smile Bakery—they’re only $22/kg.
The flavor is incredible, and honestly, you can't beat that price.
For a cake big enough for 220 people, I ended up paying around $533 total.
Highly recommend them.
But here’s what really got me: on Saturday night, after working a full shift, I walked into the shop and there wasn't a single dirty spoon left on the counter. Everything was spotless, and there wasn't even that overwhelming smell of bleach or heavy-duty cleaners hanging in the air.
That level of cleanliness totally won me over!

Check out this link www.pazin.info/antica/asortiman/601_211_342 or just look through what's listed here... there are plenty of rectangular options there.

I highly recommend Sweet Treats...👍
I buy them, my godmother buys them, and plenty of others I know do too. They look great and taste even better.

So, here’s how things went down at my place:
The cake situation for 60 people was actually three different cakes on one big stand—one was a Nutella parfait, another was just a plain parfait, and the third one was strawberry parfait, which was basically just white frosting decorated with roses and a little ribbon. Oh, and the topper was this funny little bride and groom figure where the guy is trying to bolt and the girl is grabbing him by the collar to pull him back (it was pretty much the same design we had on the invitations). I paid $250 for those three decorated cakes $33 (those little toppers weren't cheap, either). The bakery they used is based out of Newark, but honestly, they deliver everywhere—from the Bronx to Oakland, even way up into the Appalachian Mountains—and they are seriously incredible. If anyone needs their number, just shoot me a DM.

Well, I actually got them at the bakery where I ordered my cake, but I guess you could probably pick some up at an Odds and Ends shop—I think they have a website or something where you can just order them online if you don't feel like driving out there.

I ordered cookies and cake from a bakery in Kearny over by the Dubac transit hub. We had $27 per kilogram of cookies, which arrived on trays with lids already on them. It was super easy—no hassle of unpacking boxes or arranging everything ourselves. As for the cake for 200 guests, it came out to about $0.00.

This was my cake from the Srčeko fundraiser back on May 1st, 2009.

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out... as for whether people actually liked the dessert, I won't even get into it, they just absolutely demolished the whole thing...
