Drew Turner72 said:That's such great info! Do you happen to know roughly what size they are? I might be heading down toward Monterey in a couple of weeks, so if I can swing it, I'll definitely try to stop by and check them out... thanks so much.. 😉

Of course! 😉
It's about 8" x 4" and 3" high—pretty much your standard size, I'd say.
There is also a slightly larger, squarer version that's a bit shallower—it costs a few extra bucks, too—but honestly, I think the first option is the way to go...
😉

If anyone’s looking for something specific—like a photo of a certain cake to use as inspiration—just say the word. I’ve got a massive folder of images sitting around. Happy to help out. 😍 😉

Hey there!

I’m honestly not even sure where else to turn, so I figured I’d just throw this out here and see if anyone can help.🙂

I'm looking for those custom wedding cake toppers—you know, the little figurines of the bride and groom? I’ve been scrolling through various sites online and found some styles I absolutely love, so now I’m wondering if anyone knows of a specific artist or shop 😉 that actually specializes in making these kinds of custom decorations.😉

Thanks a million!

Hey ladies, has anyone here actually dealt with a square wedding cake before? I’ve been picturing this two-tier square design in my head, but now my aunts—who think they’re total experts on desserts—are breathing down my neck telling me it’s a bad move and that I should just stick to a classic round cake. They won't even give me a real reason why. Honestly, what do you guys think? Is a square cake actually a bad call?

Seriously, why??!! Where is this coming from??!! It’s total nonsense!!! There is absolutely no reason for it, nothing bad is going to happen, and it’s going to look stunning... I honestly have no clue what they're even talking about!! Don't let them get to you...

Or maybe your aunts just happen to own a round pan? 🤷

When we went to ask, nobody even brought up the shape; they just said they could whip up whatever you want, and looking at their portfolio, they probably can. If I’m reading you right, you're over in Quincy, right? Who told you all that anyway?

Can any of you successful ladies out there give me a breakdown of what kind of dessert spreads you actually served? I’m also totally open to tips from anyone currently navigating this same stage of planning! 🙂 We're looking at a crowd of about 200 people. I heard about one wedding where they did 70 pounds of dessert for 220 guests and everyone was stuffed, but honestly, I haven't even dug into the specific varieties yet...

Aaron Bennett71, look, we’ve got about 120 to 130 people coming, and we already had a solid plan in place for the restaurant and the dessert spread. The lady running things crunched the numbers and figured we need 29 batches of dough total. Each batch is just a bit over a pound, but keep in mind she’s already factored in those 60 little gift boxes—you know, the 10-ounce ones for everyone to take home

Regarding the square cakes, I find the pastry chefs' reasoning quite baffling. My own baker insisted on them solely because they offer cleaner slices, though some old superstition suggests such shapes invite misfortune into a marriage 😛 which might be their true motivation. I have decided to proceed with a square one anyway 😉

As for the variety, I am opting for everything except coconut, and I am still considering adding some crescent cookies to the mix. There will likely be sixteen different types of sweets in total. If you require inspiration, here are the photos and varieties—which I happen to have personally selected

We aren't even really planning on doing a traditional cake, more like muffins or cupcakes instead..😁
Something like this, though maybe just not in those specific colors..😉

Honestly, it might be easiest just to grab some ready-made ones at a place like Target😉. Or you could always just order them through Amazon

I was actually thinking about doing a four-tier cake, you know? But I have this vision where the second and third tiers would be tilted or set at an angle compared to the base... if that even makes sense 😕 . Does anyone happen to have any photos of something like that? I stumbled upon a picture online the other day that I absolutely loved, but I totally forgot to save it and now it’s just vanished into the void of the internet...
