Hopefully this washes away that bitter aftertaste from the last attempt. I've got pretty high expectations again! 🍿

I used to dream about seeing Reynolds pop up in the F&F series somehow. That was back during the Walker era, since they look like long-lost brothers, but this just feels mid.
They hyped up a massive cameo, but the actor I actually went to see at the theater didn't even show up!!!! What kind of "massive" is that!?

Also, those Reynolds moments, the nod to good job in Italy, Vanessa Kirby.
The movie is a huge letdown. When I think back to Fast Five... that’s still his best role to this day.
Now he's just like a neutered Hercules.

Personally, I was cracking up every single second he was on screen. I was losing it, couldn't even pull myself together! It was brilliantly ridiculous. 🍿

Man, that was us! I didn't go as far as punching pork halves, but I definitely ate a raw egg because of him and spent my whole life looking for Adrian. Rocky is still the GOAT, though. Then again, Top Gun was basically the Rocky Guarantee for some people. They're both absolute classics.🍿

Whatever. For me, it just stayed legendary. Everything from the museums and sunglasses to motorcycles and leather biker jackets. Everyone was obsessed with that stuff after seeing the movie.🍿

It hit number one at the box office. 🙄

Who's saying it wasn't popular? 🤔

Looks pretty intriguing. Got the jacket, the shades, even the bike! And Jennifer!🍿

Wikipedia is responsible for all these accusations. There's no debate there. I know because we write exactly the same way. The difference is that when I argue with people, I don't take it personally. He lets it get to him, then tries to act like some big baby to prove he isn't the bad guy. Then he starts acting like a toddler, running to report everyone. You can't go reporting the crew when you're doing the exact same stuff. But that inner child always trips him up. When the group isn't around, he just goes around telling everyone how great he is and how evil everyone else is. Naturally, the people he’s fighting with get fed up and report him back. I can't really blame them. Even his enemies are saying they'd lower his permissions just to get him off their backs. Honestly, I'm offering the moderators a bribe! $100 a month to dial back his perm. I think he deserves a two-month ban on Forest since he's being pretty thirsty, and maybe four months on the US wiki. But if he starts his old routine of reporting and arguing again, just exile him to religion sites so he can only post there and nowhere else. 🍿

It’s actually not that bad. It starts off slow and the plot gets a little messy at times, but there’s a certain charmingly dull vibe to it. For me, it’s a pass. 🍿
What defines a "heavy" movie? in Movies ·
Paramount Pictures, New York City— This movie is heavy. I don't know who can actually sit through this without feeling drained. It’s going to spark a lot of talk.🍿

I don't deal with that. I just turn around and give them a piece of my mind. 🍿

Adam Cooper16 said:From what I can tell, all the best sequences and gags from the original made the cut here. Aside from that one bit I remember where the Mexicans find an Albanian provocation hidden in a road sign year or something—which was a killer gag—this American version actually adds a few great bits the original didn't have. Plus, swapping out the Mexicans for Native Americans adds this extra layer of political correctness satire to the mix. I don't know, if you watch them back-to-back, you might find this new one too derivative to even bother with. But if we're talking about execution and vibe, you could argue it's funnier depending on how you look at it, though script-wise, the original definitely holds more wit.

That’s exactly what I was getting at. For me personally, the acting makes this one way funnier. I always vibed more with the dark humor in the original. Since I'd already seen the original, I went into this one prepared, so of course the punchlines felt a bit blunt. Honestly, the whole thing was a letdown for me. It feels just like that original French movie about the guy in the stroller being messed with by a Black guy, which the Americans remade last year.🍿

Adam Cooper16 said:What's this garbage even about?

It’s basically the same director ripping off his own work, but this version is way funnier. He leans hard into every possible cliché, poking fun at everything from masculinity and feminism to minorities and political correctness.

I don't know. Honestly, after seeing the original, this version was just laughable and almost unwatchable. The acting was pretty weak. It’s the first Liam Neeson movie I’ve seen that felt totally ridiculous. To me, the first version is about ten times funnier. Plus, the cast is leagues better—especially the lead and the villain.🍿

I watched the original first— A Walk Among the Tombstones—and then went and saw this.

Dammit, the original is way better. I’m promising myself right now that this is the last time I try watching some Hollywood remake of a solid European film.

Yeah. Compared to the original, this is absolute garbage and nothing can save it. But that’s because the original is a total gem.🍿>
My dream is a McDonald's cinema. That fancy setup at Madison Square Garden with terrible food and lounge chairs just doesn't hit the spot for me. But if they let me grab a Mickey every single time? I'd be happily munching away while watching a movie. 🍿
Morgan Brown4 said:What do you mean, "how do I think?"
I just think. That's how it works.
Paid $7.25 for a ticket and then sat through three movies at the cinema.

Shh! Don't go spilling the secret that they won't be hunting us at the entrances!🤣
nimblescout50 said:If I’m being honest, my biggest gripe is how overproduced the whole thing felt—it was just way too much—not to mention those ridiculous ticket prices.
I mean, for eighty bucks, you might as well be sitting in a dive bar with a sticky table between you and the screen, just watching a documentary about pizza and burgers. It had all the charm of that old AMC theater downtown.

👍I spent my whole childhood there! And yeah, the volume is ridiculous. I asked them to turn it down more times than I can count. Pretty sure they crank it up on purpose for some reason. 🍿

Jacob Alvarez said:Hehe, bring it on! 👍

Meh. I almost fell asleep. Didn't really vibe with it, but there wasn't much else playing at the theater anyway, so I just powered through. It felt too mindless for me. The plot just falls apart constantly. 🍿
Morgan Brown4 said:But she didn't say they stopped selling popcorn—just that eating it in the theater wasn't really the vibe back then. 🙂

I was always popular, though. People were eating and drinking just as much as they do now. Maybe even more intensely. I remember being a kid in the early 80s when things were so chill you’d even see people smoking in the theaters. Everything has its pros and cons. Nowadays, you actually have plenty of options. If you want a quiet screening, you can easily find one. I've had countless times where the whole theater felt like it was mine alone. Of course, if you go to AMC Theatres on a Wednesday for some massive blockbuster because tickets are half off, expect a flood of kids making a mess and causing a scene.🍿
Morgan Brown4 said:Oh man, the ladies.
A couple of years ago at AMC Theatres watching King Kong, I was sitting right behind these two women who showed up with a bunch of kids. Must have been some kid's birthday or something, because there were like ten children and the two women.
The kids were actually quiet and polite... but the women clearly couldn't care less about the movie. They were only there to babysit. So they spent the WHOLE DAMN MOVIE talking non-stop. 😠

BTW, my mom told me that back in the day in the South, bringing outside food and drinks into theaters was looked down upon big time. Apparently, that practice almost died out by the late 80s, but then it came back once things changed. Can any of the older folks here confirm or debunk that?
I remember my mom never letting my brother and me get popcorn or a Coke those few times we went to the movies as kids (back in the late 90s/early 2000s).

I can. I disagree. In the theater where I grew up during those years, you’d actually see people rolling strollers right through the aisles. They even had special seats in the back rows that came with their own little bar where you could grab whatever you wanted to eat or drink. So those stories don't really hold up. Eventually, things scaled back a bit and you were just stuck with popcorn and peanuts. Those were sad times. Once AMC Theatres showed up, everything got a lot better. Now you can actually sit back and have full meals served to you.🍿
