Great, so now that I’ve followed Microsoft’s own instructions to "reset to default settings," they went ahead and wiped my entire Office 2016 installation along with a whole bunch of other stuff 🤦

Ever since I installed Opera, my left-click on the Windows 10 Start menu just isn't working right.
Basically, instead of getting this:



I end up with this when I right-click:



It’s also acting weird with the taskbar icons—if I try to click ones that used to be in the menu, they pop up for a second and then immediately vanish.



Does anyone have any clue how to fix this?

By the way, the issue from that previous thread is still hanging around, too.

I went ahead and completely wiped Avira from my system—just left Malwarebytes running for now.🙂

So, I installed Avira yesterday—and now it keeps popping up like some kind of search engine redirect...😵

Which one? I haven't tried that yet.

I did—I swapped them back to the generics and the blinking lights finally stopped, plus I managed to get a test page out. But then it went right back to being useless; you can hear the machine working like it’s printing, but it just spits out a blank sheet every single time.
The only thing that actually works now is the scanner.

Is there some kind of diagnostic tool out there to help troubleshoot the printer itself?

When I pulled out the color cartridge, the ink icons started flashing—usually, it’s just the black ink light that blinks 🤷 so I took the black one out too, and then all the lights started flashing at once.

So, my printer is completely dead—won't even spit out a test page. There’s this orange light blinking next to the black ink icon. At first, it was acting like there was a paper jam, but I've checked everywhere and there isn't a scrap of paper in the tray. Then it threw this error message at me:

To make matters worse, the scanner isn't working either.

I'm using generic ink cartridges—I just popped them in the other day, and they actually worked fine for a test print back then.

The model is an HP DeskJet F4180.

Any ideas? Help!🙂

I already tried installing the HP Solutions Framework, but that didn't do a thing.😠

Does this Asus model actually hold its own against Dell or Toshiba? 🤔

The specs are basically identical, so you should definitely check Best Buy for the best deals. As far as the warranty goes, Dell gives you 3 years, whereas Toshiba provides 2—though if you register on the Toshibin NMWT site within 14 days of purchase, you get an extra year plus NMWT coverage during that first year. So, Toshiba actually has a slight edge there regarding protection...

Either way, both laptops are solid machines; you really can't go wrong with either one.
