You really need to start checking the pulse of what’s actually happening on the ground instead of just relying on those news portals...

Look, I know that mindset inside and out, and I know exactly where that road leads. It’s like hitting a cheap synthetic high. You get that quick hit of dopamine now, but you're basically trading your entire future for a momentary buzz. Total disaster waiting to happen.

Man, everything would be fine if we could actually get people to listen, but honestly? Like 90% of these folks live exactly like that anyway. They’re out there preaching it too. It’s just this weird, desperate nostalgia for those chaotic, mindless eras that didn't make any sense. To me, it feels just like that old-school mindset from back in the day before everything went south in the States. You know how it is—everyone acts like we’re all one big happy family until someone starts throwing punches.

Ashley Bailey6 said:American politics is a total mess.

And we’re talking about people who don't even live near the border or anything. Like, you look at some rural parts of the Midwest—the absolute heartland—and you'll find more people secretly obsessed with that Eastern European vibe than you’d ever believe.

It just goes to show how backwards things are... or, if you want to be polite, how uneducated everyone seems to be.
I honestly don't get why everyone is so obsessed with those cheap plastic negatives?

Take Feraud, for example—to me, he’s basically the definition of pure human malice, just a straight-up psychopath.

And look, I don't need some gratuitous onscreen gore just to feel that sense of dread.

What kind of small-town nonsense are we even talking about? This isn't some backwoods nothingburger or a cheap knockoff of a Hollywood thriller like those old Alan Ford comics or whatever

It’s more like Sergeant Ironside

Jessica Gonzalez said:Even the posters around my neighborhood are advertising that show "Terror" lately. A coworker mentioned he started watching it and thinks it's great so far. I caught about half an episode while flipping through channels, and the setup seemed really tense and interesting—a ship stuck in the ice, arguments breaking out, people defying the captain, etc. It’s that classic claustrophobic survival scenario. I liked it. But then, suddenly, this creature leaps onto the ship. It climbs the mast and flies through the air. A few scenes later, they reveal it's some kind of hybrid polar bear monster—this mysterious creature trying to kill everyone that seems to defy the laws of physics. So, I asked my friend the next day, "Why is that monster even in the show? The story works perfectly without it." And he just said, "I don't know, you're probably right, it doesn't make much sense." I guess audiences just can't handle a straightforward period drama anymore; they need fantasy thrown in too. It feels like a strange modern trend.

"Why is there even a monster in this show? Like, the series is top-tier without it?"

so you have something to spoil, duh. ☕

Man, what can I even say? Started watching this about ten days ago, but after maybe ten minutes I hit a wall, felt totally drained, and just thought, "Yeah, I'll pick this up tomorrow..." Well, fast forward to today and there isn't a single damn thing drawing me back in. 🤷

What kind of absolute morons are these people? Instead of just pulling off a quick, efficient heist under the cover of darkness, they wake up half the entire State Police and start spraying bullets like they're storming Omaha Beach.

Give me a break... total garbage right from the jump. ☕

I honestly feel like Ridley Scott swapped out Kevin Spacey for Christopher Plummer for reasons that have nothing to do with the pedophilia allegations, because let’s be real—Plummer is the only thing keeping this whole movie afloat.
I can't even imagine what this would've looked like with a masked-up Spacey; it would've been an absolute train wreck.
I didn't get the vibe that this was a coherent piece of work at all. The movie just can't decide if it wants to be something great or just total garbage, and by the end, it basically loses its mind like a toddler having a tantrum.
The kidnapping isn't even portrayed properly, and they didn't really nail Getty's character either. Such a waste.

The ending saves it somewhat, though; it actually gives you a moment to sit back and think.

Man, I remember catching Star Wars when I was just a little kid—it must’ve been back in the late eighties when they used to air it on some local channel around here—and I swear I nearly lost it when that sphere showed up on screen.
Total classic.
"Proud Mary" isn't just missing from the top 10, man... it’s not even cracking the top 150 👎

Man, this poster is just... it's uninspired. It’s giving me nothing. Honestly, just looking at it tells me everything I need to know. There is zero chance I’m stepping foot into an AMC Theatres without reading a single review first. ☕

Man, look at this guy. Total faceplant right there. Just bit the bait like a hungry bulldog on a steak. 😂

Honestly, he couldn't have played it smarter. He showed what being a true American is actually about by stepping into the ring without all that extra junk—no flags, no tacky patterns, none of that useless decor that honestly just makes me cringe a little bit if you catch my drift.
The way he did it was just classy and smart. It proves that patriotism is something you carry in your heart, and that the US is his home too, even if he’s got roots elsewhere. It's about soul, not stuff.
Turns out the guy isn't just a genius inside the ring; he's got brains outside of it too. Major respect to him.

Because this approach hits way harder, and frankly, let people complain if they want to.☕

This is the blueprint for every other athlete and anyone working in sports. This is how you do it.

briskhound2 said:So what exactly was the post that bumped this thread again?

The post pointed back to an article from December 27, 2017 (attached) where they’re debating the exact thing I’ve been talking about—is it Aliens or David?

And if you actually took a second to watch the "controversial" video linked in that article—the one I posted—you'd see it's basically a retrospective of Prometheus and AC combined, plus a comment from Ridley Scott doubling down on his vision. That video pretty much distills everything important and relevant happening right now.

http://www.alien-covenant.com/news/w...lien-awakening

A link to a clip we've all seen ten times already, one single quote (without any actual link to prove it's even news), and the usual "Ridley is a genius" nonsense. Nothing actually happened here except that the thread got bumped.

The topic was brought up because of those reasons mentioned above—there's legal wrangling going on between the studios, and I don't see how that isn't enough of a reason to post about it. 🤷

Just drop a link to some actual new info and give us your take—nobody’s been censoring you so far.

Yeah, you're the one who deleted my link, as stated earlier. ☕

Are you trying to say that my post (and the ones after it—where people were asking why you keep repeating old news) got nuked just because I don't like the movie, rather than because it's total nonsense?

And then you have the nerve to call me a troll. 😂

You say "nonsense"? What's actually nonsensical is insisting on sticking to something (Aliens) that the creator himself (Cameron) ran away from like it was some state secret. Now THAT is nonsense, my dear Deckard. ☕

In principle, you're just repeating things said a hundred times already, and every other post you flip-flop on your opinion... That's trolling. Smart trolling, sure, but still trolling. When you actually have real news, just post it. But there is no news.

Since day one, I've been showing nothing but pure hype for these movies, so I honestly have no clue where you're getting this "trolling" idea from.🤷
Before this, all the trolling was just straight-up hating on the movie, which is different from my take.

Case closed.

🤔

Look, you’re being provocative here because you’re acting like nobody loves any movie as much as you love the latest Alien. Or maybe Star Wars. You clearly don't know the people here. You have no clue how much users actually care about the movies they love watching.

Nah, I'm talking about those times when one person is a true fan and someone else won't let them express that passion consistently, especially since we're dealing with a franchise that's still very much alive. 🤷

Drama queen.

You guys are the ones making it dramatic. Acting like your entire world is ending just because of some discourse on a movie thread... honestly, even elementary schoolers have more chill than this, for Christ's sake.

So, I started the thread for Prometheus over on the Movie subforum, and if I’m reading the room right, there’s this unwritten rule where whoever kicks off a topic basically becomes its unofficial curator or even a mini-mod. It means you’ve gotta stay on top of everything—latest news, trailers, the heated debates, the rumors, deep dives, all that good stuff.

And look, I actually do that. Every now and then, I jump in, and naturally, I always kick things off with my own take because, let's be honest, I'm a total fanatic. I’m out here trying to keep the conversation alive through sheer force of will, especially since people are constantly fighting about what’s next for this movie and where the franchise is headed.

Then, out of nowhere, some random guy pops up acting like I’m doing it all for attention or just to stir the pot. He thinks I'm some kind of troll. And apparently, that was enough of an excuse for the mods—and mind you, one of them is a notorious hater of this specific movie—to just wipe my posts clean???

So, I'm asking you guys: have I actually stepped on anyone's toes? Has my engagement, every single word and comma I've typed, infringed on anyone else's rights on this forum?

What gives? What's the catch?

Honestly, I’d be thrilled if someone showed even one percent of the passion I have for this 🤷

I certainly wouldn't dream of trying to shut them down or get in their way. 🤷

Someone please give me a straight answer, because if this is how things work around here, then this whole place is pretty much pointless. ☕

The 2002 version is absolute perfection. It’s exactly how it should be. Honestly? I feel like people totally slept on it—it just kind of flew under the radar, which is weird. Like, seriously weird.
