You probably have some kind of extension or software running in the background—though you didn't specify which browser you're even using—that keeps aggressively clearing your cookies. That’s why just checking the box isn't doing the trick.
I'd suggest taking a closer look at everything you have installed on your system.

This is exactly what happens when a thread is being moderated, like when posts are being migrated to a different topic.
It doesn't happen all that often, but when it does, the lag can drag on for days and it’s incredibly irritating; there is currently no way to speed things up while we just wait for the server to stop glitching out.

I just wrote a test post in this thread, refreshed the page, and the post vanished into thin air 🙏

Posts can be deleted within a short window after they are published. How are we supposed to prevent a discussion from blooming around a thread only for the original post to vanish?
Just take a moment to think about whether you actually want everyone seeing your words before you hit "send"; if you do, you won't have to constantly pester the moderators. I reserve the right to deny any such request if the staff decides that deleting a post would derail the entire conversation.

It’s honestly ridiculous that there's a username here with more than a couple of posts, and frankly, the change is just too drastic—something you're clearly aware of yourself.
Think of something similar to your current handle, check if it's actually available, and then maybe we can actually move forward.
