So, I wrecked my arm in a car accident a few days ago. Broke my forearm—right in the middle between the elbow and the wrist. Both bones are snapped, so they had to use a metal plate to hold everything together. I’m wondering, what are the odds of the bone shifting away from that plate? This cast they put on me is honestly terrible; my arm feels like it's sliding around inside it.
Just before New Year's, my buddies and I were hanging out, just talking about whatever comes to mind, until one guy dropped this bombshell: "Hey, did you guys hear that beer is loaded with female hormones?" Since we all like to think we're amateur scientists, we decided to see if there was any truth to that. So, we sat down and knocked back about twenty beers (strictly for the sake of science, obviously). Here are the results of our little experiment. After 20 rounds of testing, we found: A) We all gained weight. B) We all started talking at once without actually saying anything. C) Naturally, nobody was listening to anyone else. D) Driving straight became a bit of a challenge. E) It was impossible to think rationally about anything, even the simplest stuff. F) We flat-out denied making mistakes, even when it was obvious that we had. G) Every five minutes, we all headed to the restroom in a pack.
I guess the theory is proven... BEER IS PACKED WITH FEMALE HORMONES!!

Pure wisdom right there...
But look, if you aren't overclocking to actually make things run faster in real apps or games...
you aren't really doing it. You don't learn that stuff on internet forums.
Sorry if I'm off base here... but shouldn't you bump the FSB first and then adjust the voltage to match what the CPU needs? I mean, more voltage means more heat, which means a higher chance of everything frying. Pushing voltage to the limit from the start doesn't make much sense to me. (Look, I haven't spent a ton of time messing around with AMD builds, so I might be wrong.)
William Kim13 said:Fair enough. True. But what happens when you crank those RPMs up from 2200 to 2850? :-) works for me👍
I run mine at full throttle. I actually installed a custom potentiometer because the one included in the box didn't cut it for me. At max speed, it pulls slightly under the full 12V. Just to be clear—don't get me wrong, the potentiometer that comes with the Zalman isn't bad. It’s actually perfect if you want low, quiet speeds. But if you're looking for absolute maximum performance? You won't be satisfied. From what I can tell, most people get their peak performance out of this cooler using a Cooler Master
P.S. If we take what brightgull15 said into account, then the Zalman definitely isn't built for extreme overclocking, especially on an AMD build.
William Kim13 said:So Zalman isn't meant for overclocking? Fine, if you say so.
I actually own one, so I know how it performs firsthand. You can always dig up some online benchmarks to verify, though. A Zalman is great for building a quiet PC with solid performance, but don't expect top-tier extreme cooling. For instance, I’ve used it to cool an Intel Core i7 up to about 3.2 or 3.3 GHz without any issues. Beyond that, it just can't keep up with the heat—and that's using Arctic Silver thermal paste while encoding DivX on a Northwood chip.
Look, let’s not get carried away about audio quality. If you’re just burning CDs, Nero gets the job done just fine. But if you actually care about how things sound? Just buy the original disc.
haha... you won't believe what this guy told me. He actually thought you could only play Doom if you bought it bundled with specific graphics cards. Then he tried to sell his buddy a floppy cable by claiming it was a hard drive cable. To top it all off, he insisted that if you put 400MHz RAM into a 333MHz motherboard, the whole thing would just fry. 😁

Not quite. It’s more that nobody wants to dwell on past romance when it just serves as a painful reminder of how things are right now.
I was just lounging on the couch, scratching my stomach, when this gorgeous girl walks in carrying a six-pack of cold beers. She cracks one open for me and says, "Honey... you seriously have the best dick in the world." Then she leans down... flips the channel to the game, and starts going to town on me. Right then, her friend walks in holding a slice of pizza, hands it to me, and goes, "Robert... you really do have the best dick in the world," before joining in on the action. The game ended with my team winning by about 500 goals. Ah... romance...😁
