Day 4, and I’m down about 5.5 lbs this morning—well, roughly, since I totally blanked on weighing myself before I actually started the diet 👍
I know most of that is just water weight, but honestly, you can see it in my stomach. My jeans are way more comfortable now; they don't dig into me when I sit down, and I just feel so much better 🙂
I don't know about all of you, but if I can stick to this for a full 7 days, it’ll be a huge personal win for me. It'll prove I actually have some willpower... I mean, I can't remember the last time in the past four years that I managed to stick to ANY kind of dietary change (healthy or otherwise) for more than two or three days.
Once this phase is over, I’ll keep going, but I’ll do it on my own terms... I'm hoping to look great by the time summer rolls around 🙂 My goal is to drop about 10-12 lbs by the end of June, and if I lose even more, hey, that's a bonus 😁
By the way... I've heard a ton of nutritionists say this diet isn't actually that bad, provided you supplement it with some extra vitamins. It basically just flushes out your system and doesn't last very long 🙂 You won't even be able to complain if you can just power through those first couple of days.. 🙂
Anyway, I just had some Tang and felt a sudden wave of dizziness hit me 🙂
Then again, I deal with migraines—so I guess that might be playing a part too.. On a good day, I don't even feel that bad, even when I'm starving 🙂
I mean, what can I even say? Today at lunch, I mentioned to my mom that I wanted her to make that for me, and she totally snapped at me the second I brought up soup. She started going on about how half the people at her job eat it and they haven't lost any weight 🙄 (well, obviously, because every third night they were out eating pork or lamb 😁 😁)... then she added that I don't even need it...
My brother just sat there listening to the whole thing in silence, and then finally chimed in: "Look, I don't want to get involved here... but my girlfriend, who's just as tall as you, is already 8 pounds lighter than you." 😁 😁
Give my best to your brother and tell him his timing is absolutely perfect for a comment... 😁
And honestly, we probably don't even need it since it's basically a diet designed for 330-pound heart patients (like someone else mentioned earlier).
But personally, it’s worked for me a few times already. 🙂 And it'll work again. It has to.
Melissa Cruz2, trust me, I get it. But sometimes life just happens and you simply don't have the time to hit the gym and prep perfect, high-quality meals every single day.
How on earth have you been sticking to this diet for two whole weeks already???? 😲
So I’m walking around town today, the weather is absolutely miserable, and honestly, I just feel terrible. I’m nauseous, dizzy, basically feeling like I might pass out... plus I am STARVING, but apparently, I’m not allowed to eat a single thing! 😲
I don't know, maybe I could manage two weeks if I took a break halfway through—but two weeks straight? No way!
I mean, what do I know? I lost about 15 pounds using that chicken noodle soup recipe a while back, and it happened in stages... A little bit of soup, then a break, then more soup... Pound by pound, with breaks, obviously. Over a few months, my clothing size actually dropped 🙂
The diet itself is fine, mostly because it flushes out all the crap you usually put into your body... But seven days is the absolute, total limit! It’s just not healthy for the long haul!
Look, I get it—it's way healthier to exercise and lose weight through a steady calorie deficit over a longer period, etc., etc. But honestly? Every single time I've seen the most progress, it's been when I was starving myself. There's no magic trick to it, really.
When I'm actually working out, I just eat everything in sight; you seriously can't stop me.
My first day on the soup is just about over. My stomach hurts from hunger so much I could actually cry. But whatever, I earned this after all those times I went overboard on mini pizzas and peanuts at the office.
If you ask me, it’s probably just a minor hormonal imbalance or maybe some kind of inflammation or yeast infection. I really doubt it's anything too serious 🙂
But honestly, the most important thing is to head straight to the doctor the second you notice any kind of change. It's all about prevention before things turn into something way more unpleasant.
Maria Kelly6 said:I’ve only got two weeks until my wedding and birthday, and my stomach has just ballooned up out of nowhere. On top of that, I can’t even button my favorite shorts because I managed to pack on a few extra pounds again this past month. I really need to drop at least 5 or 6 pounds, so please, I need some advice—something fast and actually effective... any help? 🙂
That’s actually pretty simple 🙂
The hard part is sticking to it afterward... 😁
Eat fruit for breakfast, keep lunch light (skip the greasy stuff and the bread...), and you absolutely have to go to bed hungry—your stomach will look like a deflated tire 👍 in the morning, and just keep chugging water. It works, trust me!
Hmm.. 🤔, I think I could probably pull that off for maybe 4 or 5 days right now.. 🙂 But starting tomorrow, of course. 😁
It’s common knowledge that blood pressure spikes whenever you get worked up... or when stress hits. What kind of work are you doing? How much are you stressing out on a daily basis? Are you the type to bottle everything up inside, or do you just scream at the top of your lungs?
I've dealt with similar episodes myself, and I'm only 22. My reading was 130/85.
Yeah, I was stressed—like, seriously stressed. But I stopped. Now, I cap it at maybe one coffee a day (if I even have one), I'm trying to cut back on the smoking, and I don't go overboard with the salt.
My whole family is just genetically prone to high blood pressure... with a few exceptions. But whatever, nobody's perfect; you just have to learn how to live with your issues. 🙂
Maybe the real trick is to not even let the word 'stress' cross your mind, you know? Like, don't even frame it as something you "have to overcome."
It might be better to just live, I guess. Just focus on the good stuff—your friends, your boyfriend, that trip you have coming up, summer, anything that actually makes you happy. Just forget about all that damn stress. 😘
You can do it! 👍
I mean, the first few days might feel exactly how you're feeling right now (it definitely was for me), but after that, things just start looking up.
Look, if you want my two cents, just try to get through one single night by sticking to that one drink, and then spend the rest of your day just constantly telling yourself how great everything is and how fast you’re going to bounce back... I mean, maybe if you indulge in a little bit of retail therapy and some heavy self-suggestion, you won't even feel the need for that tiny daily fix 🙂 You just have to keep your head wrapped around the idea that you'll be right back to your old self in no time and see.. 🙂
Honestly, I've been dealing with these annoying little tremors since I woke up this morning, but I'm just ignoring them—everything else is absolutely stellar! I am not letting this get to me.
One night right before bed, he told me, "I’d probably just take a little bit earlier... and then the rest whenever you need it, if you're feeling really worked up."
I don't know, personally I haven't really needed more than that single dose. 🙂
I don't know, I think the absolute worst part for me was just being terrified to admit to myself that I actually NEEDED help getting through certain things. Whether it was medication, talking it out, or just taking someone's advice on how to handle stuff on my own.
It’s all starting to click now... I've spent my entire life under this crushing pressure that I have to be able to do everything by myself, and that it's somehow shameful if I ever accept help from anyone else..
Update.. Honestly, after those first two days, I didn't even feel like I needed the pills anymore 🙂 By the evening, I’d be totally fine without them, just feeling completely normal. Then yesterday, I headed out downtown to catch some sun, and I was just riding this huge wave of positive adrenaline.
I’m going to check in with my doctor to see if maybe they can taper me off these things already.
Alex Foster6, I'm so glad you reached out.. My doctor asked me about insomnia too, but I haven't really had an issue with that. Yeah, those sleep aids definitely make you drowsy at first. What else did they tell you?
I think it’s just this initial phase while I’m still getting used to the tablet! Maybe it’s because my job is such a non-stop grind—you know, one of those roles where you're constantly racing against the clock, juggling a hundred different things at once, and trying to stay ten steps ahead on everything simultaneously... It’s intense. When I have my coffee at work, that first thirty minutes to an hour is always a struggle because I feel so sluggish and just incredibly laid back (even though I actually feel great!), but once that initial haze lifts, I'm totally fine again..
Lisa Ortiz17 said:It’s wild how some pharmacies will just hand you Person without a prescription; in some places they actually ask what you need it for, but in others, they don't even blink. I actually got mine from my primary care doctor after asking her directly. I used it occasionally, and there was one short stretch where I took it every single day, but I never ever did three times a day. Back when I was going through an incredibly brutal mental health crisis, I really needed it because I couldn't function—I'd just be sobbing for no reason, having full-on panic attacks... but once that phase passed (my issue was tied to a specific situation), I shouldn't have been on them anymore.
So, were you actively seeking it out yourself? 😲
I mean, it doesn't feel like the same level as something like Voltaren or Person, you know? It hits way harder. 😁
Like, if I see a coworker or someone at the office looking totally stressed out, am I supposed to just casually offer them some..? 😕 😁
Spica slows me down just a bit—it gives me this rubbery, floaty feeling where it’s hard to stay locked in from one task to the next. It’s like this mellow, laid-back euphoria, but once that initial wave passes halfway through the day, I feel incredible! My brain is firing on all cylinders without any of the stress. Honestly, I even feel a little lucky!
Once it wears off, I start feeling those old symptoms creeping back in, so I guess that’s when I really need to hit the gym to build up some strength...
I’m a little anxious about it, though, because I was practically counting down the minutes until I could take my second dose. 😁
Alex Foster6, I’m going to send you a DM right now!
You know, I have to admit, the absolute worst part of that whole conversation was when I realized he was basically saying I’d mostly have to handle this on my own... 😲, I swear, I nearly lost it right then and there. I just sat there panicking, thinking, "Oh my god, if I'm really doing this by myself, I am totally screwed!"
It all feels a little surreal right now, but honestly? I'm actually looking at the whole thing with a ton of optimism... 🙂
In theory, I should be burning through this whole therapy process by just using positive thinking to pull myself up, treating the meds more like a little backup plan rather than a crutch... He really seems to believe in my ability to handle it on my own, seeing as that’s how he advised me 😁
