God, sleep...
I honestly feel like I could sleep for 24 hours straight and not miss a beat...
My personal record is over 12 hours, and that’s not even after pulling an all-nighter; just a perfectly normal night's rest..
I can never seem to wake up without an alarm, and even if I do, I’ll just drift right back into a deep slumber. There is absolutely no motivation to ever get out of bed..
The sound of the alarm is the only thing that actually gets me moving because it signifies I have somewhere to be. But if I don't have any specific plans? I'll just sleep until lunchtime. It's terrible, really, but I just can't bring myself to fight it. My only thought in the morning is always "just five more minutes," and before I know it, hours have slipped by in five-minute increments!
Then, on the flip side, I can pull off six hours of sleep and function perfectly fine
I tried that whole routine of going to bed and waking up at the exact same time every day, but it was useless. Even my weekend trips out disrupt the entire schedule anyway.
😢
I’m increasingly giving up on trying to change anything about it.😢
I try to comfort myself with the idea that I'm just a "night owl," but honestly, I would give anything to be able to wake up at 7:00 or 8:00 AM naturally, regardless of when I went to bed. I truly envy people who can do that...🙂

Gabriella's Wake-up Call in Movies ·
How did the movie actually wrap up? Did she end up falling for that guy, and did he feel the same way about her? Or was she still seeing that waitress?

It was a mediocre film, though I will admit the striptease scenes were well-executed—the choreography and movement were quite polished...
When a Man is in Love with a Woman in Movies ·
This is a fantastic film with truly exceptional characters.
(Usually, when movies tackle alcoholism, they lean on the cliché of the husband being the alcoholic, so this feels like a fresh perspective.)
The title is spot on.
Andy is absolutely perfect in this role.🙂
I’ve actually sat through this one a few times already.
I don't see myself seeking it out specifically to watch again, but if it happens to pop up on TV, I’ll definitely give it another look.😁

I don't have one, sorry. However, I’d suggest renting a high-quality digital copy from a service like Apple TV or Amazon rather than relying on DivX files. Most of those compressed versions are subpar, and frankly, the ones I've encountered lately were such poor quality it was almost an insult to the cinematography. :/

PS: Regarding *Mission: Impossible*—if I recall correctly, the killers, Alex and Eric, aren't actually brothers, right? And that scene where they're having breakfast and the old men tell Eric he could grab breakfast anywhere else... those are Alex's people, isn't that right? 🤔

I think the film is good—really good. Maybe even great. It’s certainly different from anything else.
It isn't exactly easy to pin down why. If you look at it objectively, there isn't much of a traditional plot; it lacks the standard introduction, rising action, and resolution, yet it possesses this certain "something." The film moves at a slow pace, filled with walking, ambient sounds, Beethoven... and no matter how slow it feels—which might seem tedious to some—there is a persistent sensation pulling at you. It isn't the fear you get from a horror movie, nor the suspense of a thriller or a drama, but rather a specific feeling that simply compels you to keep watching while your mind simultaneously wanders through reflections on what you're seeing. You find yourself asking "Why?" almost instinctively, though that isn't even the most important question. The kids are portrayed perfectly; that little boy with that particular look in his eyes, that flawless scene with the dog—wow—then the photographer, and that moment where he captures the killer kids just before death. Then there are those three girls who eat barely anything at the table before immediately and ritualistically rushing to the restroom to purge, serving as the climax of it all. These killer kids possess such a distinct quality—one can't quite put their finger on what it is—that right before the massacre, they tell each other to enjoy life, fully aware of how young they are and how much they haven't experienced or lived through (you'd expect them to want to survive). They even share a kiss just so they don't die without having tried it once (some people labeled them as gay—they aren't). I haven't seen characters captured this effectively in a long time. While it might not be strictly stereotypical, if you actually observe high schoolers, it really is.
All in all, a big 👍 for Gus van Sant, and I'm off to watch another one of his films.

PS: I loveeee how he works with the camera 😍

I am not asking which movie you consider a masterpiece; I am specifically interested in the titles themselves.
Try to set aside whether the film is actually good and focus solely on the quality of the title.
😁

The first one that comes to mind for me is "When a Man Loves a Woman."

Differin gel reviews and tips in Health ·
It’s called Differin, isn't it?
I used one tube of it previously under my dermatologist's guidance. However, when I went back to pick up a second tube, the pharmacist insisted I consult with my doctor again before they would sell it to me. They wouldn't budge.
How to stop biting your nails? in Health ·
I was 19 when I finally stopped biting my nails—I’d been doing it constantly until about six or seven months ago. My dad bites his, my aunt does too, and my brother is the same way. People suggest it's hereditary, though they claim it isn't.
I tried applying all sorts of cheap polish to deter myself; my mom would lecture me constantly about it, blah blah blah, but nothing really made a dent.
Then, I decided to get gel extensions done—not those flimsy drugstore ones, but actual professional salon gel nails. I kept them on for about a month and a half, and during that time, I simply couldn't bring myself to bite them. I had to exercise self-control because, let's face it, they cost a small fortune. By the time I had them removed, my natural nails had grown out and looked beautiful.
Nowadays, I still get the occasional urge, but instead of biting, I’ll just grab a nail file and smooth things over, or put on some polish. I do occasionally slip up and bite one if I’m feeling particularly high-strung, but I never go back to that stage of biting down to the quick or even drawing blood... ugh, just thinking about it gives me chills.
So, if you're a woman dealing with this, maybe give the salon extensions a shot if you haven't already. Or maybe not... I don't know. I guess I just felt the need to share my experience.👋
Would you be an organ donor? in Miscellaneous ·
Well, certainly after they’ve run about a thousand different tests to confirm I’m actually deceased—rather than having them start an autopsy while I'm still very much alive and unable to shout "Wait, no!"

😂

In any case...

I haven't signed up to be a donor, but still...
The film is certainly intriguing, I'll give it that.
However, I don't really perceive it as a vision of the future; rather, it feels more like an exploration of the past—an account of how our modern world came to be. 🤔

The lead actor delivers a solid performance, though if we look at the precedent set by films like The Matrix and others in that vein, casting a major star can often act as a catalyst for a film's success. Perhaps they should have considered someone with a bit more traditional leading-man charisma for the role.

The ending leans a bit too heavily into science fiction for my personal taste, but all things considered, it’s a compelling concept.

6 -> I'd have to see those glasses in action to decide how good they actually are. 😁
9 -> Not really my cup of tea.
11 -> I haven't seen it, though it feels like something I should have caught. If I'm mistaken, please set me straight immediately. 😛
12 -> I can't quite recall if I've seen it 😳 but I have a feeling I have, and if so, it's quite excellent (though I should double-check).
14 -> Hahaha... that elevator scene is great, 😎 but I doubt I'll end up picking it up.

The rest -> Pretty much forgettable.

Kenneth Sullivan58 said:The cuts are so shallow you practically have to be a skeleton just to fill them out!

Honestly, how? Just... how? *sighs*
Are you seriously telling me every single cut is endlessly shallow???
Because here I am, tirelessly searching for something shallow—and I mean truly short. Everything I find sits way too high on my hips; I want something that actually hits right at the mid-thigh level (if that’s even the right term for it), something that feels genuinely LOW. So far, the only pair I’ve found that even comes close to a 3/4 length was at Teranova... besides that, nothing. It's all too high (slightly lower than the standard cuts, but still not what I'm looking for). 🤔
🙂 🙂 🙂
Please, point me toward these ultraaaaaaaa-shallow cuts you're talking about. 😍
Once upon a time... in Lonely Hearts ·
I think that sentence could be interpreted in a few different ways (at least from my perspective)

She fell in love before I even laid eyes on him (way before that)
- it was through an online connection, quite a while back

She fell in love based on his intellect and conversation rather than his physical appearance (much more recent)
- just lately

There are probably several other valid interpretations out there...
