idiot

btw, did it ever cross his tiny mind that the patient might actually be more educated than he is? 🙂 😱

thank goodness she reported him.

So my husband is just your "average Joe"—I mean, he barely touches more than a teaspoon of sugar a day, but he definitely isn't eating the way you described here

He's actually pretty good-looking 😍—not quite my type 😁 and lean too

Look, if someone actually feels a physical compulsion to binge on those kinds of amounts, they're dealing with an eating disorder, plain and simple

Most people struggling with insulin resistance or Type 2 diabetes are overweight. And honestly? You can eat the healthiest food on the planet and still end up gaining weight... it all comes down to portions.

I don't know the exact sugar count in a Coca-Cola, but let's be real, it's incredibly sweet. I usually stick to Diet Coke anyway—it's better for me (well, except for those times when I'm dealing with hypoglycemia)

Different people have totally different nutritional needs depending on what's going on with them. It’s not healthy to basically put certain foods on an altar of condemnation, because seriously—the key is mostly about quantity.

By the way, I know this woman who eats a few pounds of fruits and veggies every single day, along with some whole grain bread and fresh cheese.

And she is HUGE.

dustycanyon6 said:Look, spiking your insulin levels like crazy is straight-up dangerous—and I'm not just talking about people with health issues, though for them, it’s even worse. It's bad news for anyone, period. And you know what's driving that whole mess? Sucrose... pure sugar. Just a massive, unwanted surge.

Yeah, true... but like, even something like white bread—you know, that processed dough stuff—it still triggers insulin release too...

Look, I'm telling you—for the eighteenth time now—it all comes down to the sheer volume of stuff you're shoving in your face. You've got one of those little sugar-addicted characters out there claiming they need less insulin for a massive plate of whole wheat pasta... seriously? Trust me on this one... 😉

And don't go forgetting that you can get just as fat—and pack on all those other nasty side effects of being overweight—by simply EATING MORE THAN YOU BURN, regardless of whether you're hitting the refined stuff or the "natural" carbs

(basically, white bread vs. whole grain)

The whole trick is in the portions... there’s no such thing as "unprocessed," "all-natural," or "healthy" bread or dough that you can just shovel into your face endlessly without consequences 😉

Back when I was a kid, after being sick once, I ended up staying skinny and pretty frail.

You want to know how I actually gained weight? By eating nothing but so-called "healthy food"—but in massive amounts. Seriously, zero Glucose, no white flour, just perfectly balanced, healthy meals. And I was doing that six times a day 😬

Sandra Hayes88 and dustycanyon6 seem to think (though I’m not totally sure they actually get it...) that how fast your blood glucose spikes matters

but look, the reality is that sucrose is gonna hit your system way faster than the starch you get from eating bread

and honestly, if you pair that sugar with some indigestible stuff—you know, fiber—it’ll slow down that glucose release compared to just eating plain old starch. that’s why we eat salads🙂 and if you actually want to feel like you're doing something productive for your body, stick to whole grain

Basically, a faster spike in blood glucose means a quicker response from your pancreas—meaning more insulin gets dumped into your bloodstream

and let me tell you, that can be a real nightmare IF YOU ARE, SAY, OVERWEIGHT. Or if you're dealing with type 2 diabetes.

dustycanyon6 said:It’s all just apples and oranges over here... Honestly, I don't know—you and driftinggull13 are out here playing these semantic games, trying to lecture the rest of us like we're too dim to see through it. You think we're just gonna swallow whatever you're selling? Please. You deliberately leave out everything else just so you can "prove" your little point—all so the debate—pardon me, let's call it what it actually is, a total shouting match—goes your way...

Look, blood glucose is obviously essential for staying alive—no argument there—but we aren't talking about that specific glucose, right? We’re talking about sugar... specifically sucrose. And I don't even mean sucrose floating around in your bloodstream (is that even a thing? I don't know...), I mean actually eating the stuff—which is what I meant when I was rambling about sugar earlier. I’m definitely no expert here, mind you, but isn't there this whole concept called the glycemic index? And doesn't sucrose have a way higher GI than something like whole wheat pasta? So, if that's the case... does it really even matter if we're slamming sucrose or just sticking to the whole grain stuff? Or am I just overthinking things again...

Plus, when you look at all the different types of food out there, we end up getting plenty of glucose just from that—enough energy to actually function without having to shove extra sucrose or any other kind of nasty sugar down our throats... which, honestly, sounds like a win to me.

It all kicked off because McGregor was busy messing around with those pears and apples... just total chaos from the start...

By the way, having actual sucrose in your bloodstream isn't even a thing—it just breaks down into glucose and fructose before it even gets a chance... honestly, people get this stuff so wrong all the time.

If you actually sit down and read this whole damn "discussion"... 🙄 Everything else aside—including that whole mess with my nipples—maybe then you'll finally get why I was screaming my head off...

Of course Sahara spikes your blood sugar way faster than the starch in whole wheat pasta—especially since all that fiber in the whole grain stuff just slows down the absorption process anyway... but hey, we haven't even touched on that yet.

See, that’s exactly why I go straight for the pure Glucose whenever my hypoglycemia starts acting up... honestly, nothing else works when you're crashing like that... 😉
And when I’m running low on glucose... I just go straight for the sucrose... 🙂

Look, not everyone out there is overweight, and honestly, not everyone is struggling with insulin resistance either... seriously. There are plenty of people who aren't obsessed with orthorexia—you know, that whole thing where you're terrified of a single carb—who just live perfectly healthy, normal lives without some doom-and-gloom preacher breathing down their necks telling them the apocalypse is coming... all while trying to hawk some miracle supplement that supposedly "neutralizes" the toxic effects of stuff like Glucose. It’s just exhausting...

So, look—you get a quick spike in blood glucose... which means your body just dumps a bunch of insulin all at once. Honestly? There’s nothing even sketchy about that part... it's just how things work.

Look, let's get one thing straight—you still need insulin, and Lucy needs it too, even if you aren't eating a single damn thing... I just don't see the logic in anyone stuffing their face with massive amounts of whole grain bread just to chase an energy boost. Like, seriously? You can get that exact same result by just eating a way smaller amount of white bread instead... it’s not rocket science... 😲 ...if you toss it in with some fresh veggies... 😉

And all of that without any of that extra insulin spiking—which is exactly what you want to avoid if you don't want to pack on the pounds... I mean, let's be real, insulin is an anabolic hormone, so if you've got too much glucose floating around, your body is just gonna Store Fat immediately...

It’s really that simple—just eat less... honestly... 😉

But hey, if it’s the truth, what am I supposed to do? 🙂

Back then, I looked way older than I actually was

But now? No wrinkles, no gray hairs, and my figure is still pretty much the same (whatever that even means at this point 😁)

Maybe it’s all that time spent doing chemistry in silico—you know, computer modeling stuff... 😎

it’s basically that whole "half-full vs. half-empty" glass situation... you know?

Look at it this way: these women hitting forty today? They look like they were barely twenty yesterday—seriously.

Anyway, I’ve looked pretty much the same since I was seventeen...

even though I'm twice the age now.

Back then, people used to give me way more—now? Barely anything at all. 😉

Honestly, just making it to forty is a win in itself—better than not seeing it at all, right? 🤔

Over at www.zdravljeizivot.com/forum, you can get some insight from Darko Husar

Sandra Hayes88 said:Look, I'm sorry, but Kumek literally said sugar is HEALTHY.
Anyway, rustymoose54, you’re living proof that a degree doesn't mean everything... it’s honestly a shame they don't teach basic human decency or how to talk to people without being a total condescending snob—even if they aren't on your level of "genius"—in school. 👋

Where exactly did I claim to be a genius? But hey, unlike you and a few other "intellectuals" on this board, I actually think people underestimate how much education matters.

If you actually cared about being educated, maybe you'd finally grasp that GLUCOSE IS SUGAR.

And you know, that stuff your body absolutely needs just to keep your brain and organs from shutting down? You finally learned what that is yet?

It's GLUCOSE, honey. And that bowl of whole wheat pasta you love so much? What does it turn into in the end? GLUCOSE. For crying out loud, Kumek and I didn't just make that up—it's just science.

ps. Funny how you conveniently skipped over my point about breastfeeding... 😉
Bread consumption habits in Health ·
Sandra Hayes88, if you actually bothered to read what Kumek was saying instead of just skimming, you'd realize he never once claimed anything was "equally healthy" or "equally unhealthy"

He was just trying to hammer home the point that any sugar we eat eventually turns into glucose anyway, simple as that...
And honestly, comparing ice cream to a full dinner when talking about "health" is just a ridiculous comparison. I mean, the meal you mentioned has way more food groups in it than a pint of Ben & Jerry's does—it’s diverse, right? Plus, if you look at the actual math, the fat content is heavily skewed toward the ice cream side. So, your question is totally pointless—it's like asking if it's better to have a dead Saddam Hussein or a living George W. Bush 😬

btw, I have never in my life sat down and polished off a MASSIVE plate of pasta—whole wheat or regular, doesn't matter—all in one go. So, no, I'm not some kind of lumberjack, for crying out loud. It’s probably no wonder you’re struggling with nutrition if you’re just slamming huge amounts of carbs into your system at once...
As for that link you sent me, I can't even get the page to load. Apparently, the site blocks entry to anyone who fits the description mistybear4 gave regarding women being more interested in showing off their chests than having actual brains. Access denied. 🙂

spam, spam, spam

man, you’re so busy being "open-minded" that you completely missed the point—there are countless peer-reviewed journals out there, all with different impact factors, where people spend their entire lives—whether they're grinding through a PhD at some Ivy League school or they're already established professors—just constantly pumping out their research results. And these papers don't just magically appear; they go through rigorous anonymous peer review before they ever see the light of day

to actually get a doctorate and then, you know, actually *survive* in academia, you have to cite thousands upon thousands of those studies, all while doing your own research on top of it... it’s just a never-ending cycle of citing, citing, citing... researching, researching, researching... publishing, publishing, publishing...

honestly, with your total lack of basic science knowledge (don't even get me started on biomedicine) and your pretty obvious inability to think analytically, you wouldn't even be able to wrap your head around these papers if you tried. I mean, hell, even I can't sit down and actually comprehend a paper on particle physics because I didn't go to school for that—I'm not that educated in that field. So, it never even crosses my mind to talk trash about particle physicists, even if, let's face it, like 80% of their work is basically just educated guesswork😁

there are no easy answers here. there are serious people doing serious research, trying to find actual answers... with varying degrees of success, and varying levels of scientific integrity. but you? and people like you, who basically make a living off of people's fear of getting sick by using methods that look a lot like brainwashing? compared to them, you look like some stray dog tied to a post in a rural town, barking hysterically at the ocean and watching these massive ships sail past in the distance... poor thing just keeps yapping away, but you can't break that chain. and the ship just keeps sailing...

god, man, your references, your blatant contempt for actual knowledge, and your complete failure to grasp basic chemistry (let's start there, 😉) just makes you totally unconvincing.

anyway, go buy a book or something and go to UCI!

mistybear4 said:Look, I’m not trying to downplay all your hard work or what you know, but having a degree doesn't give you some divine right to act superior and look down on people who don't have one... and thinking that a piece of paper makes you an absolute authority over everyone else? Honestly, that kind of thing doesn't impress me at all—it just feels like 🙂 .. 😁

Poor little guy... you must be seriously burned out if you're getting this worked up over the anatomy of someone you're just talking to on a forum 😁 and honestly, I probably don't even have the patience for this 😉

mistybear4 said:You can't possibly grasp the extent of my knowledge, just like I can't know everything you know, so arguing about who knows more is just a complete waste of breath... every single day there's new research coming out regarding nutrition and health, and in that sense, I might actually be ahead of you because I'm staying current with the latest info and learning how to actually apply it to real life.. 😎

but YOU PROVED RIGHT HERE THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE BASICS, which is why those of us "with degrees" are calling you out 🙄

You're great at copy-pasting, but the second you need to explain something about nutrition or chemistry (which, by the way, you HAVE to master if you want to talk about food), you totally ZAJEBES

You've basically turned this health subforum into a joke that people visit just to laugh at you

Seriously, go read some books and get back to basics first, maybe then one day you'll actually know what you're talking about instead of just lecturing everyone with your sermons.

Honestly, the worst part about your spam posts—aside from the massive lack of actual knowledge—is the ideology you keep trying to push as legitimate "science" and whatever else

And you claim it's all because "you want to help people" 🙂

Help people, my ass 😎

mistybear4 said:maybe you’re some kind of sugar guru and know everything there is to know—seriously, hats off to you—but you’re still missing a ton of pieces to the puzzle if you think you actually get the full picture on nutrition... 😎

hold up a sec, are you seriously claiming you know more about diet than I do? 🤣 please, stop embarrassing yourself already 😁
so, tell me, have you finally wrapped your head around the fact that energy value and calorie count are literally the exact same thing?

mistybear4 said:i don't do fake humor, and if you're gonna make a joke at your own expense, then just own it and take the joke for what it is instead of turning it into some big provocation... would you honestly rather someone call you stupid than call you a woman? ... 😕
look, i love women, especially smart ones—though i can't stand arrogant people..

okay, so you're still under the impression that my being a girl matters more to this debate about carbohydrate chemistry than my actual knowledge and all those years I spent in school? 🙏 not even going to mention that I've been forced to learn everything about nutrition since I was a kid... honestly, it's basically defined my entire life path and career choice 🙄

i have no idea where you got the notion that i was making fun of myself 🤔
and i am proud of my degree—dead serious, because i earned it through blood, sweat, and tears. and when you're actually proud of something, you should be able to use emojis on a forum to show that emotion

since there isn't an emoji here that perfectly captures: TOTAL BULLSHIT:, i just picked the one that comes closest 🙂

as for what kind of women you do or don't like, go vent about that in the lonely hearts section... it's got nothing to do with me 🙂

mistybear4 said:first you wave them all in, and then suddenly we’re the bad guys? .. 😁

So, let me get this straight—you think you're totally justified in claiming my credentials don't matter when we're talking about sugar chemistry, yet somehow I should have just flaunted my chest instead (since I'm a woman)? And apparently, the fact that I used a Smajlic gives you the divine right to be such a jerk?

Honestly, I feel bad for you. Like, how much energy does it actually take to copy-paste all this garbage you dump on us, all for the slim chance of making a few bucks... instead of finding a decent job and doing whatever it is you're actually good at (if that even exists). Maybe go out and work construction... find a girl in real life? But hey, word of advice: if you actually want to land a date, maybe don't lead with your Herbalife pitch. 😉 😁

🙂 🙂 🙂

Like I already said—commenting on my body versus my actual credentials and degree? Yeah, you totally deserve a ban for that. Not to mention your little friend Sandra Hayes88, who, despite being a self-proclaimed feminist, didn't find a single thing wrong with how you were talking to me... 🙂

I’d give you an answer (again!), but my glasses are just way too big right now and I can barely even see the monitor... plus they're stiff, so there's no way I can just squeeze them onto my face for a bit

Maybe that guy mcpropovjednik has some kind of fix for my glasses situation? Seems like he's pretty obsessed with the topic anyway

But seriously: you've already been answered on this more times than I can count

Like, look at this right here:
Kumek said:In those whole-grain breads, there's a part made of fiber that doesn't get digested (mostly cellulose—which, by the way, is also a glucose polymer just like starch or glycogen). Because of that, the bread actually has a lower caloric value which makes you feel fuller (since your stomach is physically full), but provides less energy for your body—what vets call "bulk feed"—so you don't pack on the weight as much.

mistybear4 said:lol, okay, your little title doesn't exactly blow my mind... maybe try bragging about whatever you're waving around instead.. 🙂 😁

ps: don't go grasping at straws here—there are plenty of scientists out there (wasn't even talking about her specifically) .. 😎

well, newsflash, I wasn't trying to impress *you*—I was aiming for everyone else 😁

and honestly? just wanted to make it clear that you're talking to people who actually, you know, KNOW THE TERMINOLOGY... unlike you

P.S. seriously, based on that little comment in your P.S., you basically deserve a ban
