OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
So, how exactly do you think a doctor, a herbalist, some wound specialist, or anyone else can actually help if you don't even think you can see the issue yourself? I mean, seriously... how were you even supposed to know it was a skin fissure in the first place?

Look, personally? Food is just fuel for me to get things done. I’d much rather have the energy to actually move around—even if I'm running on toxic sludge for a bit... 😬

I don't think people should just be popping out like they're on an assembly line... I mean, if you don't want kids... then don't have them, and make sure you stay that way (like, prevent pregnancy instead of dealing with an abortion!)... if I were actually a religious zealot, I'd be whining about condoms and birth control pills...
just join a church then... you'll find plenty of those types there

hm, so apparently nowadays, being totally inconsistent is what we're calling "not being a zealot" now... 😎

🙂

hell, he can use both hands for all I care—honestly, at this point, it's more about how many fingers he's got left to type with... 👍

So what's the move... do I wait for it to die down or just chug it right now 🙂

just hang tight until the "shhhhh" sound stops...

and maybe actually listen to Christian Lee13 for once

😁

I get it... honestly, all you can really do is try not to wreck your throat. Whatever, maybe she'll just find a legit alto part instead

and it's such a bummer she isn't singing mezzo

It’s kind of wild to me that you’re only just feeling this after three years...

Usually, people—specifically women, in my experience—hit those roadblocks right at the start... you know, before they actually figure out how to breathe from the diaphragm instead of just straining their throat through sheer willpower.

Do you actually feel your back muscles engaging when you sing?
Rumors? in Health ·
Look, I’m hardly some world-class vocal coach—I’ve only messed around with singing a little bit myself...

You really shouldn't be pushing for alto territory, especially if you're naturally more of a mezzo-soprano. But hey, I'm probably not dropping any massive revelations here...

So, did someone actually sit down and map out your vocal range, or are you just winging it? How are you even warming up?

Honestly, just try to hunt down a solid recommendation for a legit solo vocal coach.

man, seriously... that's just straight-up bad luck.

Look, if the person who started this thread doesn't actually have celiac disease, then ditching all gluten is just... I don't know, pointless? It’s basically impossible to pull off, and honestly, it’s freaking expensive too.

Besides, I’m getting the feeling this whole thread is heading straight into psychology territory—like, we're gonna end up with people nitpicking over what counts as "healthy" versus "unhealthy" before long... just another circle jerk of opinions...
silvermason16 said:I'm not complaining one bit.
dyeing my hair every now and then; surfing... well, I guess that's just the grind;

Nah, I am definitely complaining... 😬

I was totally messing with you earlier...
rustymoose54 said:hehe, so we're back to needing to move our bodies... in any capacity, really.

honestly, I only walk because I have to—not even for the "health benefits" or whatever, just so I can actually get my life together and hit all my errands

as for working out? yeah, no thanks. too boring, way too repetitive... just not my vibe
silvermason16 said:she wasn't out there bleaching her hair five times a year, she wasn't getting absolutely pummeled by the 24/7 news cycle and all that junk,

look, maybe just stop dyeing your hair so much and get off the internet for a bit, you know? just as a starting point... 😁

and for crying out loud, go for a walk. I don't even hit the gym, but I'm constantly on my feet moving around like a maniac...
polly said:Those little savory snack bites? You mean the ones that are perfectly golden-brown, super tight, and just shatter like potato chips when you bite them?

I gotta admit, those kinds of snacks are basically off-limits for me—total taboo territory... 😬

even if the ones you're describing don't actually seem *that* greasy. But whatever...

Rachel Brooks63, it's true that living with chronic stuff often ends up shaping who you are—there's an entire field of clinical psychology dedicated to how that works. Honestly, though? I think my own personality was shaped way more by my time serving in the military... and man, so many people went through that same grind at the same time.

Anyway, I know a ton of "colleagues"—young folks dealing with diabetes—and they're honestly totally fine, in every sense of the word. Maybe having extra glucose makes our brains run faster or something? 😬 Just kidding, it’s probably the exact opposite...

The one thing where we really don't have much of a choice is what people call "discipline." It takes a massive amount of effort just to stay healthy, whereas it takes almost zero effort to let everything go to hell. So, we just walk that fine line and hope things stay mostly okay...
Rachel Brooks63 said:The fact that you actually get what's going on with your body—being way smarter than most, knowing your own biology inside and out, and putting in so much damn work to stay healthy... plus you're insanely disciplined (which I've honestly admired since the first time we hung out together during that trip to Europe 😉).

😍 thanks, thanks

meanwhile, I'm over here feeling major guilt about eating bacon

honestly, when you're stuck in a situation like mine, you don't really have much of a choice—smart or not, you just deal 😬
Rachel Brooks63 said:It’s just genetics, plain and simple...

So how do you explain me being in pretty good shape, despite having diabetes and eating all that "superfood" stuff you're obsessed with?

The real secret is just not overdoing it by eating the exact same thing every single day—doesn't matter if it's labeled "healthy" or some low-cal miracle food, it still adds up...

I mean, honestly, Billie doesn't even eat that much, so that's probably not the solution to her specific issues...
jadesailor14 said:That’s kinda what I was getting at.
Just a little bit of everything. Enough to satisfy the craving, but not enough to go overboard... you know? Just keeping it moderate.
Other people can just pig out on sweets whenever they want—like sitting in front of the TV and demolishing a whole box of Entenmann's.

Yeah, obviously, I don't touch the sugary stuff because of the diabetes, plus I'm trying not to pack on the pounds.

It doesn't mean I turn down a slice of cake every single time someone offers it, it just means I have to balance it all out with my insulin later.

Not to mention those hypoglycemic crashes where I have to scramble for some glucose... which, of course, usually involves more sugar... ugh. 😁

I feel like people who don't deal with health issues just guzzle down these sweetened sodas—carbonated or whatever—and they don't even realize how much junk they're actually shoving in.

Even a basic fruit juice with no added sugar has so much natural sugar in it that I still have to correct it with insulin.
jadesailor14 said:I mean, you don't eat that stuff 24/7, right? Surely you make room for some pasta or rice and maybe some veggies—cooked or raw...
Look, I shove all kinds of junk down my throat too... honestly...
And don't even get me started on those "light" products. They’re such a joke—totally mindless marketing, and if you actually bother to read the label, half the time they aren't even that low-cal anyway.

I hit all six food groups every single day. Just staying away from the sweets.
