Dealing with aura migraines in Health ·
I reckon you could probably pop some Tylenol just to take the edge off, but seriously, don't go overboard with the dosage... just be careful

I went through something pretty similar after my blood sugar crashed once—total nightmare—and honestly, I have no clue how I’d even survive the migraine without painkillers. It's just brutal...div>
Plasma Donation in Health ·
Casey Campbell said:By the way, Kenneth Hernandez67, are you actually one of those people who does the whole voluntary blood donation thing?

Hey, by the way, Jesse Ortiz4... 😁Look, let's get one thing straight—you can't exactly be an involuntary recipient and a voluntary blood donor at the exact same time... it just doesn't work like that, you know? It’s basic logic, really... 🙂

shadowfalcon33 said:Clorox? Please. I just stick with that plumber’s gel stuff. Just pour it down the drains every now and then and call it a day.

As for the bathroom... Lysol is decent enough, I guess, but lately I’ve been using this one from Clorox—you know, the white bottle with the spray nozzle on top.

All those Clorox bottles are basically the same thing anyway—they only really differ by scent. Honestly, there’s a bit too much chlorine in there, but hey, I don't mind... it kind of gives me these weirdly nostalgic vibes of being a college student back in the day, working in those sketchy labs without any proper ventilation... seriously, who gave those professors their licenses? lol 😁

Lysol works fine, but I have this weird soft spot for Nature's Miracle blue (definitely gotta use the spray version!). I don't know... I get way too emotional about cleaning supplies. It's a problem.

🤣

honestly, I’m all about Clorox. For cleaning up the bathroom, obviously... though if we're talking stains, maybe stick to something like Tide or whatever...

clearly and loudly: I Made It.

Good Lord. What an absolute load of garbage. I'm out of here. You guys are seriously boring me...
Wait, do I owe money for something?😁 😁

nah, you "made it" alright 🤣 by being a total idiot and illiterate. again. 👍

as far as paying goes, honey, you definitely already paid up 😁 😉
Hannah Harris87 said:Write a novel called "Girl with dragon tattoos," or maybe:
"The Girl with the Wrong Accent"; or just go visit Oprah Winfrey.

Or just flush the toilet.🙄

Honestly, it’s no wonder those doctors in America were so rude to you—and to your illiterate grandma, too. ☕

I don't get what’s supposed to be pathetic about me giving an example of a doctor who actually knows what they're doing? Is it pathetic that I had to deal with doctors at all? Or because I was a refugee? Or just because I'm saying stuff that doesn't fit into your little narrative about America?...
Hannah Harris87 said:I get it—I can be pretty blunt with my grandma, just this illiterate old lady living out in the sticks. People like that... they're actually fine once someone on their level stands up to them. Intellectually speaking/academically... you know, people like you or me?

Nah, that’s not really how it works.

I first met my endocrinologist back when I was a total outsider—just some kid, basically a refugee with a "wrong" accent 😉 , barely even had any health insurance (besides the bare minimum), and she treated me exactly the same then as she does now that I've finally "fitted in." She's just a genuinely good, decent person doing her job to the best of her ability.

But honestly? My academic credentials didn't do squat when I ran into those doctors who were way less qualified—the kind who just couldn't handle a patient actually asking questions 😢 jerk.
Hannah Harris87 said:Total jerk.🙂 🙂 🙂

Look, sorry things turned out that way for you—really, I am—but honestly? That’s got absolutely nothing to do with some doctors in America expecting extra cash under the table for their services... it's just not like that.
Hannah Harris87 said:blabla...
In America, if you’re even slightly different from the status quo, people immediately label you as some kind of radical freak, or a lowlife, or a total Dummy, etc., etc., etc... 🙂

🤣 I mean, honestly, I’d love to know which specific group they’ve shoved you into 🤔 since you clearly aren't anything out of the ordinary... give me a break... 😂
Hannah Harris87 said:The high-society types just stick to private hospitals. You pay through the nose at a private clinic, sure, but at the public ones? It’s free. And there’s no extra "under the table" nonsense required.

good for you

the real kicker is that in America, you can't just get every single procedure done at those fancy private clinics. So, you end up stuck at the public hospital... and if you realize that without dropping some cash you're gonna be waiting an absolute eternity—but hey, you're still breathing—then you just slide them an envelope and suddenly everything's fine.

though honestly, it really just depends on which doctor you're dealing with. Not everyone is looking for a kickback, and not all of them are jerks, either! Some will go above and beyond for you... I mean, I've had my endocrinologist looking out for me for 12 years now, so I know there are good ones out there.
So, does homeopathy actually work? in Health ·
Rachel Brooks63 said:they aren't exactly at risk of getting bankrolled by some "evil Big Pharma" overlords or anything... and I doubt they're just cooking up results to suit their own agendas either.

🙂 🙂

but seriously, shadowgardener12, I don't get why you think a study done in America would carry any more weight when we're talking about the actual scientific evaluation of homeopathy... it's all the same stuff, right?

and one more thing—some of the people you're arguing with have actually seen a bit of the world, it's just a fact. honestly, you look kind of ridiculous trying to dismiss them with that whole "you've never left your hometown, you stuck-in-the-mud types" routine... it's just not working.😁
Sweating—it's all about thermoregulation.

We sweat across our entire skin surface...

Antiperspirants would only be dangerous if we were slathering them over our whole bodies (and even then, only if they actually worked 100% 😉). But used locally? They don't mess with the body's ability to regulate heat, they just block the flow in those specific spots where you put them.
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
northernfalcon9 said:Get some bifocals and practice with them. Stop wearing those standard glasses because they aren't going to fix your vision.👋

man, that advice is just brutal...

look, glasses don't actually "cure" myopia or farsightedness—that's just not how it works. 🙄

but they sure as hell make life livable, so I'm thankful for them, I guess. 🙂

feralfalcon72, if we're strictly talking about prescription strength, anyone can tell you that.

I go to a specialist at the hospital who handles my prescription anyway, so I can't really give you any direct help here, sorry.
now what?!!! in Health ·
Your folks are totally spiraling right now because they feel like they’ve lost their kid—you—and they’re freaking out about what’s next for you. But hey, look on the bright side, your old man gave you a hug, which is huge... don't you feel 🙂

Seriously, don't sweat it. Well, okay, maybe worry about the baby for now, but everything else will eventually fall into place. It’s awesome that your partner is stepping up for you, so just try not to let any of this drama get under your skin... once things settle down, just focus on enjoying being pregnant.

🙂

Do you have any brothers or sisters, and how old are they?
It’d probably help if you mentioned them first...

I mean, one way to handle this—if you want my two cents—is to sit your parents down for a real, serious talk. Just tell them straight up that you've found someone you want to build a life with, and that you guys have already mapped out your future together. As for the baby... well, that was just part of the journey, you know?😁

New problem: my skin just split open on my finger. And before anyone starts—my dad was busy slicing up tomatoes in the kitchen, so I know for a fact I didn't cut myself on a knife. I haven't even been... you know, "busy" with anyone else. Just myself. So, does this mean I have a nasty cunt? 😢
Oh, so what—you think I’m gonna go ahead and slather that hemorrhoid cream on you too? Seriously?... Honestly, some requests are just straight-up unhinged. I’ve heard some wild stuff on these boards, but this is taking the cake—or maybe the whole bakery at this point. Just... yeah, no. Definitely not happening.

What would you rather rub cream on? Your... well, let's just say "down there" or just use a finger? Honestly, life’s too weird for straight questions like that—just a thought floating around in my head while I stare at the ceiling...

If you think for one second that your teeth are looking a little jagged or whatever... maybe try dripping some fluoride acid over those bottom molars—just enough to melt them down, I guess? But hey, watch yourself, don't go spilling any on your skin. Seriously. If you do end up burning yourself, just run to the local CVS or Walgreens and grab some hemorrhoid cream... then just smear it all over those holes that’ll be showing once the acid does its thing... 😬 ...but only if you grease it up with some Vaseline first.

Wait, did I just see that? No way... hold on, let me get my bearings—actually, never mind, I’m already losing it. Anyway, where was I? Right. Just another day in this absolute circus we call life. Everything feels like a rerun of a bad sitcom lately, doesn't it? Like, you wake up, stare at the ceiling for twenty minutes questioning every life choice that led you to this exact moment, and then—bam—reality hits you like a freight train on the interstate. It’s exhausting. Honestly, if I have to deal with one more "groundbreaking" trend or another person acting like they've discovered fire, I might actually lose my mind... or just go take a long nap. Probably both. Let's be real. 👋

Nah, she just sits there and takes it—kind of like every other girl here who thinks it’s totally normal to have everything snap at once during sex, yet somehow still feels the need to jump into these threads...

And then you’ve got these ones trying to act all high and mighty, telling her she should probably see a therapist just so they can confirm she isn't actually dealing with anything more serious than a massive hemorrhoid. Lmao...

btw my dad had surgery for hemorrhoids.

What’s there to even look at? It’s basically just a hemorrhoid but bigger, right?
And I don't need to go to an OBGYN myself, I don't need any "experts" giving me unsolicited advice... besides, I didn't even ask for it!!!!!😠

Based on how you're typing, sounds like you've got some major issues with seeing a doctor—which is probably why those "experts" told you to stop messing around.

And honestly, the whole bit about whether a doctor should actually *look* at a patient during an exam? You're killing me here.

It’s like going to the dentist—cavities are cavities, what else is there to "examine" while they're drilling away? 😁

Skin cracking (or, uh, I guess the mucosa) around the vaginal area is NOT a normal thing that just happens to girls... you could have a yeast infection or something, and when it comes to stuff like that, figuring out the actual cause is HUGE.

Megan Wright9 said:Watch yourself......with that mirror 😳

And honestly, what’s the deal with the gynecologist? How can you even claim an "exam is impossible"?

I mean, they don't have to go running a colposcopy on you, for crying out loud, but they actually need to see what's going on down there...
