Anonymous said:Just a quick question for anyone who's sent stuff through The New York Times. Is it normal for the lady at the newsstand to say she'll wrap up the package later once it arrives today (instead of just doing it right then and there)?😕(rather than handling it on the spot)?
aha.. mine was the same.. because she said her orders were to prioritize customers (some guy came by for the papers), and packages get "dealt with" during the downtime.. what's worrying you about it? I actually brought my own wrapping for my packages, so I wasn't too concerned.. And as of today, one was picked up and everything went fine🙂
Man, just thinking back on it... I haven't dealt with this in at least five years, but when I was going through that phase, it was nasty.. The whole thing—I'd wake up, fully conscious, but my body wouldn't move a muscle.. and everything hurt, just tight.. like tiny thorns. It felt like I could actually feel my own circulation, and every pulse or pump through my veins just felt stronger, more painful, more intense.. and all I could think about was how much I wanted to scream, but I couldn't.. or how I wanted to run, but I couldn't.. When it happened for the first time, I honestly thought I was being abducted by aliens 😬 🤣 I couldn't tell if I was dreaming or if I was actually awake.. I'd just stare around the room.. watching the clock.. minutes passing by.. it was terrifying 😲 I did some reading on the subject later and saw that it’s actually pretty normal and harmless, but I absolutely hated the sensation.. I knew exactly when it was "starting to happen" The only way I found to get out of it was to focus entirely on waking up my body.. trying to move just one small thing or forcing my brain to kickstart everything back to life.. It was a total nightmare, honestly.. It used to hit me quite a bit from ages 15 to 25.. it came in intervals.. sometimes nothing for months or years, and then a few times in a single month.. Thankfully, it's been a long time since it last happened 🙏
If anything helps you figure out why—it usually happened most often when I had overslept or when I was chronically exhausted 😉
My OB just prescribed Sumamed because my swab came back positive for strep in my vaginal culture. I’m a little nervous about taking it since I’m 15 weeks pregnant... 😲 Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this? 🙂
Hey everyone, does anyone happen to have a contact number or an email address for Ivica lisjak? It looks like the info on his website isn't actually working right now.🙄
Trust me... I’ve pretty much been obsessively in love with every single person I've ever crushed on. It’s a terrible, messy feeling—you know everything about them, yet you just can't help yourself. Eventually, you realize there isn't really a fix other than de-glamorizing them. You have to break the illusion that they have the perfect nose, the best lips, or the most graceful walk. Once that initial rush and passion fade in a relationship, you start noticing things—like how he picks at his toes with a toothpick, or how he doesn't actually walk so much as shuffle along. At that point, you either grow to love those quirks, or you find them "gross" and get tired of them. Either way, the fantasy eventually breaks. It’s all just brain chemistry that we end up inflating ourselves with through these unrealistic fantasies... and there's not much we can do about it.🙂 I know it sounds harsh toward the girl, but you aren't the one to blame here. It's really on him if he were to let anything happen between you two. He isn't walking around with her, and you don't have those deep feelings for her, so there's no reason to hold back. He's the one who needs to consider the consequences. It might sound cold, but I guess people today tend to overcomplicate things too much. Life is short, and you have to take risks; if nothing else, you'll learn something. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but there's a lesson behind every failure. Ultimately, you'll move past this obsession and be able to look at someone who actually deserves your attention. Don't waste your time... the pace of life in the US is too fast and high-pressure to let an empty crush run over you. Besides, you have to enjoy life... especially the emotions. There isn't a better feeling than love, but it has to be healthy love. Obsession just drives a person crazy. It feels sweet at first, but over time, it starts to leave a bitter taste in your mouth. So, just go for it.😉
Obsessive infatuation usually stems from physical attraction, glorifying someone you don't actually know, and constant daydreaming. That daydreaming part might be the worst, honestly. We tend to build up these perfect, imaginary scenarios in our heads that just drive us crazy. We turn people into these non-existent deities, which leads to seeing them everywhere, dreaming about them, and thinking about them 24/7. The only way to break that cycle is to realize that the person isn't some kind of god. They aren't everything we imagined them to be. You have to tear down that house of cards we spend all day building. The easiest way to do that is to actually get to know them. Once you see their flaws and the reality of the situation, that intense fascination tends to fade. I guess if you just hang out with them, you'll start to see who they really are. It’s like reading a book page by page; eventually, the obsession starts to cool off. Time usually helps you realize how unrealistic you were being—that they're just an average person and it wasn't worth the stress. Most of the time, it ends in disappointment once you realize how much you were just fooling yourself. Or, maybe after that phase passes, actual love develops—but it's a calm, peaceful kind of love that has nothing to do with obsession. In my experience, those are the only ways to deal with it.😉 As for the harder cases where someone claims to be taken or unavailable—if they're showing interest in you and letting you in, then they aren't really unavailable. Maybe they're just too cowardly to leave their current situation or change the routine they've built around their partner. Real love and the right person will find you regardless of whether you're currently in a relationship or not. I mean, who can truly say who is "right"? There's no guarantee. You could be in a relationship for ten years only to realize that person wasn't the one once you finally meet the right one. It's all pretty relative.🙂 You can't really fight love. And when it's real, you just feel it. You don't go looking for other options when that happens.😉
It usually settles down after a few years... most of the time, it’s just a psychological thing. Even though our hands and feet have the highest concentration of sweat glands... I think I read somewhere that there are tens of thousands more on them than on the rest of the arm (I can't be certain if that specific stat is accurate, though). Basically, I dealt with this myself until about age 23, especially when I was trying to meet new people. But eventually, it just calmed down on its own. In the last few years, it rarely happens. I still get a bit of sweat here and there if I'm dealing with extreme anxiety or nerves, but it's nothing compared to how bad it was during my teenage years.
I actually saw a show where plastic surgeons were removing those sweat glands from the hands of a Japanese businessman—apparently because he had to shake hands constantly with business partners. It seems to be a pretty popular procedure over there. Personally, though, that feels a bit too extreme for me.
Jacob Howard76 said:So, did you end up going in for the biopsy (because of the inflammation)?
I didn't... I mean, I could have, but since I've had these symptoms for three weeks now—plus it only lasted a few days back when I was dealing with a nasty exam—I guess I just kind of forgot about it... It only crosses my mind whenever I scroll through Facebook and see a thread about it... Ginić did a full check-up on me and said everything seems fine... Apparently, appendicitis can be hereditary too, though I don't think anyone in my family has ever dealt with it for generations... I've had issues with my ovaries and digestion before, sure... but specifically the appendix? No one...
Maybe it passed. It wasn't anything major back then anyway... just a dull, mild ache...🤔
Anthony Howard33 said:I’m dealing with all of that too, but on top of everything else, there’s been blood in my urine for about nine months now. Nobody seems to have a clue what’s going on; I’ve gone through every doctor you can think of, and they all come up empty-handed, yet the pain just keeps coming—this dull, heavy ache that just leaves me feeling completely wiped out and exhausted.🤷 I honestly don’t even know who to turn to anymore.
Maybe it’s related to your urinary tract? Could it be cystitis that’s turned chronic?
Jacob Howard76 said:Maybe it was just early appendicitis... I had those exact same symptoms once.😍
I thought the exact same thing immediately, but it feels more like it's lower down... I've gone through vet school, so I know a little bit about anatomy and medicine.😬 I hope you're not just talking... honestly, it's already been three weeks, Mir. I hope things stay that way. 🙂
wanderingheron8 said:God knows what's going on. It isn't my first time dealing with this, yet here I am today, feeling like nothing even happened. I don't buy the idea that I'm just being paranoid. Honestly, it feels more physical; whenever I get that sharp, uncomfortable pain, there’s always this discharge—almost like some kind of heavy leakage... 🙂 and how else am I supposed to describe it? 😁
Rebecca Foster7 said:It’s either all or nothing—either you're clear or there's an infection. You should probably go get an ultrasound and a urine culture just to be sure.
Like I mentioned earlier, that wasn't it... everything is sorted out now 🙂
Everything was fine at Ginić's... It was about colon issues... plus all the stress from exams 😬 The exam is over, but it's been three weeks now and still nothing 🙂
So, here’s what happened... It looks like all that exam stress was actually playing tricks on me... Turns out it was my gut—once my digestion finally leveled out, everything else calmed down too.. Regardless, I'm still heading over to see Ginić so she can take a look at my ovaries. 😬
Henry Moore2 said:I used to get these sharp, stabbing pains during my cycles and right in my ovaries, so I was there too. But look, it’s not some terminal illness. It’s honestly better than dealing with kidney issues; at least this is something you can actually manage easier.
I guess we'll see what happens at the doctor's appointment in a few days.😬 Honestly, the pain isn't there today—it's actually a bit of a miracle.🤔
Henry Moore2 said:It could be ovarian inflammation. Honestly, you're probably better off going to see Ginić. I know exactly what you're going through because I'm incredibly sensitive myself. I deal with constant inflammation in my ovaries and bladder, so please, don't play around when it comes to this stuff.
Oh, I’m definitely going to see Ginić soon—I actually already have an appointment scheduled... I know it isn't something to mess around with... that's why I couldn't even wait until my appointment with Ginić before starting this thread. I'm just worried it might be an ovarian infection, though today it feels more like it might be my large intestine acting up... I don't know. I just hope it's nothing serious.😢
It all seems to be connected to my gut, honestly... I had a really rough exam recently and it completely trashed my digestion. One minute it's hysterical nervous cramping, the next I'm starving or just totally out of it... I think that might be the main cause, or maybe it's something else entirely... I'll probably take some probiotics for a few days to balance my gut flora, then we'll see if that was actually the issue.
It's probably not a kidney issue, most likely. It’s either a thick intestine or some left-sided issue... maybe. I have a political brain—but the right-leaning kind... I'm not really sure what's going on right now... I guess I'll know once I go see Ginić.
Feeling some twinges during ovulation is pretty normal, but this has been happening every single day for a month now. Plus, I'm 31. I've never actually experienced ovulation pains before—so that's definitely not something I usually deal with. 😬
