Justin Patel said:I’m heading in to see it in about thirty minutes. Honestly, I can’t wait for anything starring Russell Crowe because he’s clearly the greatest actor on the planet (quoting him: "I am the greatest actor in the world")... but this one is a bit of a historical piece based on a novel. It features plenty of massive tanks, and then there's Russell being a total brute while also playing the violin... hopefully, it actually holds up. $9.75(With zero chance of success given how much I hate those Broadway types—not actual Broadway, just those theater nerds). Why did I even bother? I really hope someone else posts something more meaningful about this movie once they've seen it (since I haven't yet).

It wasn't pure Humor—everything just boiled down to twisting fairy tale tropes, which started feeling exhausting after a while. And the whole bit about Fiona turning into a green creature just like Shrek was 👎—it wasn't even subversive—more like exactly what everyone expected it to be.

Richard Hernandez13 said:It wasn't actually about communism—that was just the excuse former distributors used to cover their tracks. As I mentioned before, Kubrick was an absolute nightmare when it came to distribution and copyrights; he had incredibly high standards regarding how his films were handled. Back then, the distribution system in the former Yugoslavia was pure chaos and looked nothing like anything you'd see in the West. That’s exactly why Kubrick wouldn't allow most of his work to be distributed there.
That pattern carried right over into the independent and sovereign United States era, simply because it took them two or three years to finally release what we have on DVDs today.

Richard Hernandez13 said:It’s likely a foreign release.
Kubrick (well, his estate now) was a total pain in the neck when it came to licensing his films.
mirrorball said:...a video rental shop up in the North of our Beautiful America... and unfortunately, I’m just stuck there grinding away (basically acting as a manager for some small unit)...
Richard Hernandez13 said:Unfortunately, it's not available—Dr. Strangelove is the only one from the Kubrick collection that hasn't been released in the US.
Aaron Gonzalez4 said:The movie is just a prelude; the sequel should hit theaters here in May, and I seriously can't wait... I'm going to watch it again. I heard the American dubbing for Finding Nemo was also total crap.
Jeffrey Long said:A masterpiece. The music, the script—everything gets a perfect 5/5... 👍 👍 👍
PS: Does anyone know if Dr. Strangelove is available on DVD?
