I’m not even going to argue about the left side; I’m with you on that one, no questions asked. As for everything else, you clearly aren't paying attention to how many posts have been nuked or just how much work the moderators are actually putting in behind the scenes on this subforum. It’s pretty funny to you to go around calling people slugs and then act all surprised when things get messy.
Is we're talking about some kind of undercover marketing here—like, is it just people sharing their honest thoughts on something, or are these folks actually the ones building and selling those boats?
Matthew Anderson4, nobody is handing you a ban just for the hell of it; you earned that one all by yourself maybe try actually thinking about that for a second?
Emily Kim67, I’m assuming the whole idea was that someone eventually loses their cool, goes overboard, and ends up getting hit with a seven-day timeout just to let them chill out heavy insults don't happen all that often, and if they did, a moderator would easily step in if they saw someone repeatedly breaking the rules and just deal with that problematic user manually
I honestly find it hard to believe they were even looking for you but look, however you slice it, getting hit with a fine is still a hell of a lot better than totaling your car somewhere, especially if you start applying that logic to a few thousand units...
And honestly, even these colorful characters on the forum aren't above following the rules and basic internet etiquette Usually, we let a lot of their nonsense slide, but you can't just turn a blind eye to everything—it simply isn't fair to everyone else
If you’re looking at this strictly through the lens of handing out warnings and bans, then sure, I guess you’ve got a point there but what if we actually focus on what constitutes acceptable behavior here?? Nobody wakes up in the morning with the grand ambition of handing out reprimands or banning people from the board, but we all share the same goal of learning how to talk to one another without the constant insults and cheap shots. The folks who just can't seem to grasp that end up racking up those penalty points until they hit the thousand mark and—*poof*—they're gone. Meanwhile, you've got other users who have been posting for years without ever seeing a single warning.
The general idea here is just to watch how you carry yourself so those bans don't start "happening" to you unexpectedly. Once you hit that 200-point mark, you're looking at a three-day suspension and it's the same deal at 300, and again at 400. That being said, the moderator actually has the discretion to just hand out a direct ban if they notice someone is relentlessly pushing the same tired narrative, depending on how much they think that person might actually succeed in causing trouble.
First off, maybe try actually reading through some stuff to see what a high-quality, well-constructed thread looks like before you dive in secondly, do us all a favor and check if someone hasn't already started a similar discussion elsewhere
The morning rush is always a nightmare because the server just can't handle the sheer volume of incoming requests at once It looks like some security settings are being way too aggressive and won't let the site hold onto its cookies, which ends up kicking everyone out of their sessions entirely
I'm not sure what kind of setup you're running when you jump online, but personally, I make it a point to lock my computer every single time I step away so nobody can mess with anything
