Look, they aren't practicing here in the States, and they certainly aren't operating on this forum.
Out in the real world, there are certain beauties to life: you have freedom of speech, sure, but you also have accountability for what you say.
Around here, that second part tends to get a little blurry sometimes.
🙂

silverpuma542, I didn't quite catch your drift there.
Could you elaborate a bit?

Jose Barrett said:Look, please don't go blurring the lines between actual medicine and quackery, or suggesting that people here should just "choose" whichever version suits them better.

What kind of counterpoint is that!?
comparing a PhD researcher like Ivan Đikić against Braco from Srebrenjak 🤣

Look, I'll be blunt, but people have every right to decide what works for them, even if they end up making a mess of things personally.
The only thing you shouldn't be doing is trying to steer someone away from legitimate medical science.

Honestly, that’s just not fair
I mean, they’re both grown enough to ensure this whole mess doesn't bleed into this side of the relationship
Actually, scratch that—I don't think, I know

Aside from that, I’m not actually asking for this kind of thing to be codified into law. My point is that a person should have the right to say that something is okay or not okay based on their own convictions, faith, or religion (regardless of the topic). Those are two fundamentally different things—demanding that something becomes official law versus simply expressing one's religious perspective on a matter.

Now we're just circling the drain again: has US law ever actually processed or declared any tenet of the Christian faith to be illegal??? I don't think so. So, it really all comes down to the moderation policy of Reddit rather than the Law itself.

neither mellowraven22 nor I banned Christianity from the forum, we just banned you.
as for whether a certain belief is actually part of Christianity or if it's just your personal interpretation—well, who's crazy is who, you can figure that out with Christianity yourself; just make sure you stay in line with actual legal regulations and basic standards of civilized behavior.
in any case, you can't go around posting such garbage on the forum without consequences; whether Saint Peter, Allah, or Satan revealed something to you is entirely your own problem.

Jeremy Young19, since Mirzakv is the one who went out of his way to emphasize his religious identity before adding what ego has in his signature, maybe the real question we should be asking is whether he’s actually spreading religious intolerance or just a general civilizational bias rather than anything else.
In this specific instance, ego is just the guy pointing out that the emperor has no clothes, yet you seem more bothered by the fact that someone is speaking up than by the actual reality of the situation itself.
🙂
Besides, I’m not exactly a fan of pigeonholing people either, so if you ask me, labeling him as a "declared Muslim" feels a bit off and isn't quite the right way to frame it.

So what, are we just going to declare it perfectly legal to draft contracts on a newborn calf next??
it says in the holy book
🙂

Let’s get one thing straight once and for all: laws are mandatory, whereas religions are optional.
Religion or faith is a deeply personal matter for the individual, while the law applies to everyone, period.
Hate speech is a violation of the law, and frankly, nobody cares what someone read in their holy book—or any other book, for that matter—whether they printed out their own copy or decided to proclaim it sacred...
Hiding behind imaginary authorities like that isn't going to fly here on Reddit, at least not as long as we live in a secular nation.

dustypuma5, calling everything from Coldrex to Ginkgo Biloba "quackery" is quite the stretch,
the only thing I’ll actually give you credit for is agreeing that telling people to ditch mainstream medicine entirely is just plain illegal advice.

I’m honestly starting to think you’re going to have to take those questions straight to the marketing department
🙂
All I can tell you is that I find it pretty hard to believe you'll actually manage to draft a contract where you end up being worth anything at all
but hey, if you actually pull it off, I fully expect a massive surge of green wave supporters flooding the gates, no matter what the fallout might be

The topic here is the Armada, so I’m going to ask you all to actually stick to the subject at hand and maybe try to keep your hormones in check for once
. Honestly, when it comes to the insults being thrown around, you're mostly just describing yourselves anyway.

Look, I’m more than happy to hear from anyone who feels they've been wronged, and honestly, my door is always open if you have a grievance to air
but
I’m not interested in vague venting; I need a specific, legitimate complaint and a direct link—or at least a very clear idea of where this happened if the post has already been scrubbed

It’s pretty obvious that emotions are running way too high around here right now, and frankly, that’s a terrible foundation for actually getting anything done, unless the goal is just to have everyone bickering with one another indefinitely
Going forward, if you have a concrete question or a formal complaint, feel free to start a dedicated thread right here, or just shoot a private message to tyndall or myself

Thanks

this whole thing is basically a textbook example of what needs to be shut down, especially within the music subforum
look, folks, if you just want to blow off steam and argue about absolutely nothing, we have plenty of other subforums and off-topic sections specifically designed for that kind of nonsense
i honestly find it hard to wrap my head around the fact that anyone would actually complain about closing
9/11 Antisemitic Conspiracy Theories in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Well, quite a lot gets swept under the rug here, sometimes even more than is reasonable, if you ask me.
Unfortunately, most people just don't seem to grasp the fundamental distinction between actual free speech and simply being silenced.
In my experience, the complaints from forum users usually end up doing more harm than good, especially when they start targeting the moderators just because someone took things a bit too far.
Why? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
anytime 😁
Why? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I honestly don't get why someone who isn't even currently sitting in the ban corner would feel the burning desire or have some sort of desperate need to start a thread over there, especially when the rules laid out in that section are pretty damn obvious to anyone with eyes.
I mean, if you’re really going to be that stubborn about it, I suppose I could be persuaded to meet you halfway...

The alternative is just another subforum like any other, though there was a period where it suffered from a serious lack of moderation.
I think we all have a pretty clear grasp of what freedom of speech actually means, but we also understand the difference between exercising that right and simply abusing it.
It’s a lot like how the fact that there isn't a specific law dictating exactly what you wear doesn't mean you have a free pass to walk around town completely naked.

Since nobody seemed to grasp why those posts were being wiped and tossed in the trash, let me try explaining it this way: just stop acting like a bunch of spoiled brats.
ZgSash's explanation! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
There’s a massive difference between using something as a running gag and actually taking a direct shot at someone
. It isn't exactly a display of high intelligence either, watching someone pull the exact same stunt right after being slapped with a formal warning
. At the end of the day, we have established forum rules for a reason, and then there’s this other thing called basic human decency
. If all of that feels a bit too complicated for some people, they should probably just find a different hobby and stay out of everyone else's hair
ZgSash's explanation! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
it could still be more than that
I'm just not really in the mood today for people acting like complete idiots
