well, considering the level of competition out there...
Retaking the exam in Law ·
Nah, I think the actual priority should be getting some drunk idiot back onto the road as quickly as possible, assuming they can somehow manage to scrape through a standard field sobriety test without completely falling apart.
😁

Rachel Sanchez11, look, I don't have anything against the topic itself, but please, let's try to keep this discussion somewhat coherent instead of letting it devolve into nothing but pure trolling, mindless spam, and endless chatter.
Paying bills online in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I’ve been using this for years now, and honestly, I think it’s easily one of the best things banks have ever rolled out
I can keep a tight grip on my spending without having to waste my life standing in some endless line at a branch, plus I can just settle my bills whenever the mood strikes—middle of the night, midday, or even on a holiday...
Martial arts/sports: your therapist, psychologist, or priest? in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
It’s funny you say that, because my experience was almost the exact opposite—it actually dialed back my aggression, yet somehow managed to crank up my confidence and sense of resolve

Alright, let’s say someone somehow manages to snag a belt they didn't actually earn,
what’s the actual payoff for them, and how does it play out for me—is it a win or a total loss?
I mean, in most real-world scenarios, they aren't going to go around announcing their rank to everyone, and I'm certainly not going to be walking up to strangers asking what color belt they wear.
🙂
Keeping it real! in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
A martial art is way more than just a collection of rehearsed moves and fancy submissions, which means it really ought to be
fundamentally speaking, it should be an entire mindset, a way you approach things, basically a lifestyle
that whole petty aspect where it’s just "I hit you, then you hit me back" or some low-level ego trip involving a referee stepping in to break things up—that’s honestly the lowest possible level of anything
true self-discipline, composure, reading the room to find the most efficient way out of a mess, physical fitness, reflexes—all of that constitutes the actual art, and frankly, it’s a pretty solid way to navigate life in general
fighting for the sake of fighting doesn't solve a single problem and it certainly doesn't prove anything about who you are
I feel so ugly... in Psychology ·
It isn't depression; it’s an obsession.
An obsession with these arbitrary standards that frankly make zero sense to anyone with a functioning brain, and then, naturally, the depression just hitches a ride on top of all that nonsense.
You could be tall, short, curvy, thin, athletic, pale, tanned, or any other impossible combination of physical traits you can imagine.
There will always be some reason to feel satisfied, just as there will always be a reason to feel miserable.
Honestly, if the first thing someone notices about you is your flaws, you should probably just be grateful you aren't actually dealing with whatever mess they're projecting onto you.
The insults eventually fade, but let's be real—you're going to gain weight, you'll age, you'll get wrinkles, things will sag...
But on the inside, you’re still the same person you were, except now, someone might find your "vibe" or your presence a little more appealing.
Just be yourself and learn to value the people who actually bother to look a little deeper than the surface level.

hollowtrucker77, you remember those old threads? The ones asking what you notice first when you meet someone?
What’s the very first thing that catches your eye and basically defines how you see a person?
I’d bet my life savings that in 90% of cases, the answer is eyes.
🙂
There really isn't anything better or more captivating than an open, honest gaze paired with a little hint of a smile peeking through.
It’s funny how these massive corporations try to push this impossible standard of perfection just to pad their bottom lines, leaving millions of women constantly struggling to chase an ideal that those same companies can barely even find in a professional model. I mean, think about it—why are those models paid such insane amounts of money and treated like icons if the look they're selling is supposed to be the "standard" everyone should already have?
🙂
I went through my own rough patches back in the day where I was constantly obsessing over my looks and my skin, and honestly, it was exhausting.
But looking back, my physical appearance wasn't actually the issue; the real problem was my own mindset and how I viewed myself.
Because at the end of the day, if I don't carry myself with any self-respect or genuine self-love, why on earth would I expect anyone else to give me the respect and affection I'm looking for?

Eh, bowing down to the golden calf... how incredibly fitting, really.
🙂
Kudos to you, faithful ones.
Yeah, I mean,
anyway, if I were in this situation, I’d just head straight over to her place and take those keys back myself—and honestly, if things got heated, I wouldn't mind using a little bit of force to make sure it actually happens.
Then she can go ahead and try to sue me if she feels like it.
🙂
Does she have the spare keys on her too?
Police badges in Law ·
Running red lights isn't something they're allowed to do, whether they're on the clock or just driving around town
They aren't even supposed to break basic traffic laws unless they've actually got the lights and sirens going
Now, in the real world, obviously, anyone who’s been handed some kind of special privilege is going to exploit it, just like everyone else does
Police badges in Law ·
sowwy
Once he steps outside the US, he isn't some officer of the law anymore; he’s just another tourist or visitor, plain and simple, just like everybody else
Police badges in Law ·
Sorry, but you've got that completely wrong here.
A police officer is an officer twenty-four hours a day, which is a massive distinction compared to, say, a private security guard.
That’s exactly why security guards have to check their gear at the end of a shift and aren't allowed to just wander around in uniform whenever they feel like it.
An officer has the right—and honestly, it's more of a duty—to step in and intervene regardless of whether they're officially on the clock or not.
Now, I’m struggling to wrap my head around how that badge can be used for personal business, whether that's while they're on duty or just out living their life.
Is there a Spider-Man service? in Law ·
I can already hear the lawyers whining about how this goes against legal precedent and insisting we should have called the cops to report a stolen vehicle
but honestly, life tends to operate on a completely different set of principles altogether.

Look, Galatea, it’s really nothing personal
I just wanted to demonstrate how grating it sounds when someone tries to shove you into some arbitrary little box or label you with a category that doesn't fit
It’s honestly pretty unpleasant when people start preaching at you, especially when they try to frame your own unique way of being as if it were some sort of inherent flaw, wouldn't you agree?
To be perfectly blunt, I couldn't care less whether you decide to switch over to solar power or not
🙂
Are vegetarians actually smarter? in Psychology ·
First, there’s the headline, followed by a bunch of justifications that defy both basic human nature and common sense
it's all just a window into how a toddler perceives the world
honestly, if you ask me, the crowd that suddenly decided to go full vegetarian is just a group of people doing absolutely nothing with their lives, so naturally, they aren't burning any actual energy and they feel perfectly fine about staying in their little "balanced" bubble
🙂
but, I’ve started noticing a pattern where, once they lose a bit of body fat, their nerves start fraying and they turn incredibly aggressive and erratic
my guess is that their primal survival instincts eventually kick in and they start acting like predators because their bodies are screaming for some real fuel
Are vegetarians actually smarter? in Psychology ·
