Best rafting trips in the US? in Other Sports ·
go ahead and head over there first
well, consider it your little introductory tour of the local river currents and the water quality
of course, once you've got the hang of that, you’ll probably be itching for something more intense, but honestly, I think you'd be hitting the social scene in a place like Colorado way too soon after that
if you want real mastery—try the Zambezi
🙂

Rafting down the Colorado River is honestly such a solid way to spend an entire day with the family
By the time you finish up a big hearty portion of chili, everyone’s heading home with a massive grin on their face
🙂
I also think it serves as a perfect introduction if you're looking to get your feet wet with rafting for the very first time
Taking out a loan just to pay the phone bill in Close to Politics ·
Basically, you really ought to dig into whether AT&T actually has any decent security protocols on their servers, because once you find a gap, you can start tearing their entire defense strategy apart

Bryan Sanchez86, look, what I'm talking about actually happened a few years back
The logs just "vanished," and back then, the telecom provider was basically their own little sovereign nation, and honestly, I just didn't have the energy to go to war with them—or the government—through the court system
I mean, I actually submitted a formal request to see the log files since I work in IT, but they shut me down without even blinking
So, a friend of mine who’s an attorney sent them a letter demanding access via a court-appointed expert, but by that point, the logs were already gone, yet they still had my bill sitting there as "proof"
Basically, they screwed me over without a second thought, and at the end of the day, I was stuck choosing between a lawsuit—which would cost me years of my life and interest rates I probably couldn't win or afford anyway—or just folding
I ended up paying, and they played nice enough to let me split it into six monthly installments

it happened to me
I just woke up to find a bunch of extra minutes on my bill for calls I never even made, even though they were charged to the specific number I was actually dialing
🙂
Look, I’m not exactly the kind of idiot who’s going to call Verizon just to chat for thirty minutes straight, but according to the call logs, that's apparently what happened

dialer , simba , dialer (the nickname)
a dealer is something else entirely; they’re out there handing out burgers, cars, pastries, and narcotics
🙂
the truth is, as usual, it’s fifty-fifty
users really ought to take the time to actually read and learn something once in a while, seeing as they’re staring at computer screens all day, but then again, AT&T should probably bother having some actual quality security protocols running on their own servers too
at the end of the day, people are paying for the service of connecting to those servers and browsing safely, not for connecting through some shady proxy in the Caymans
that’s why we don't need AT&T
I’ve run into plenty of people who were using a dialer, and when I tried to warn them, they just gave me this look like, "Why do I care? It's not my problem," right up until the moment their bill arrived
and then suddenly, they come crawling back in a total panic, looking for help because they've already blown through their entire budget
Thought experiment in Health ·
Back in elementary school, there was this one girl whose parents were basically ghosts, never around
she lived almost entirely on nothing but snack cakes and candy
after about two months of that, she actually broke her leg just walking up some stairs and ended up in the hospital with severe rickets
I guess we’re all a little too spoiled these days, constantly nitpicking what we like and what we don't
it would probably be a lot smarter if we just learned how to appreciate some variety
Look, if I absolutely have to
I actually kind of enjoy being the one people turn to when there’s something worth saying
🙂
oh, please
it’s nothing more than just thoughts
😁
if it really comes down to it, I’ll sink so low that even a cannibal out in the deep jungle would think twice before getting too close to me
Now, I don't mean I'd ever get physical—I go out of my way to avoid that kind of thing whenever possible—but...
there are certain ways you can make it incredibly clear to someone exactly where they stand in the social hierarchy.
I’ve even mastered that specific facial expression that carries just enough weight to remind them of a funeral procession or some deep-seated trauma, especially when paired with the right tone of voice.
🙂
At the end of the day, regardless of whether we're talking about the Prime Minister or the President, people are expected to act with a basic level of decency and civility!
If they don't, they might just find themselves getting a much-needed lesson in manners from someone who actually knows how to behave properly.
😎
So he just brushed her off like that? Is that really how he thinks he should act?
😁
I can’t help but picture what it would be like if someone treated my girlfriend or my wife that way.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmhgrr 😠
I’m fully convinced that "Mr. Doctor" would have actually offered an apology if he had any decency.

so what’s the deal here??
i'm just wondering if anyone actually has some kind of inside scoop on this club

The Musubi Aikido Club is pretty much right around the corner from me,
does anyone actually know anything about that place?
Lease agreements: Tips, questions, and experiences in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
And here’s that little "detail" everyone seems to conveniently overlook: if the company goes belly up and files for bankruptcy, they take the car right along with them.
You didn't actually own it; you were just renting it from them.
Sure, credit the leasing company for the service, but personally, I wouldn't want to spend five years sweating over whether some random corporation is going to stay solvent enough to keep my wheels on the road.
The growing trend of smoking bans in Health ·
Personally, I think splitting up bars and restaurants into smoking and non-smoking sections sounds like a perfectly reasonable idea to me.
As for all this talk about medical costs and stuff, who exactly is picking up the tab when someone wipes out on a motorcycle without wearing a helmet? Or when some worker ignores basic OSHA safety protocols on the job?
Besides, since when did we start acting like non-smokers are somehow immune to cancer?
Are you living the dream? in Spirituality ·
I’d say I’m about 80% satisfied with how things are going, though I tend to view that remaining 20% as nothing more than fuel to keep me moving

Parenting in the new millennium? in Spirituality ·
Can you actually explain to me why everything has shifted so drastically?
I mean, shouldn't we be teaching kids about discipline and self-restraint?
Isn't it fundamentally a parent's job to instill a sense of self-respect in their child?
And shouldn't they be getting just as much love and attention as any generation before them?

Look, I’m sorry if this sounds blunt, but it feels like people are making a massive mountain out of a molehill regarding this whole issue.
I see it all the time—parents dodging their responsibilities because their own personal comfort matters more to them than their own kids.
Since when did raising a child suddenly become this impossible feat?

those kinds of shadowy, underhanded players don't even need anyone else to take them down
they've already set the whole thing in motion; they're just sitting back and waiting for the clock to run out on everyone else

honestly, being someone's enemy is such a massive waste of energy, and frankly, it's just plain stupid

Choosing to ignore things is basically just a coping mechanism for people who can't handle reality.

If you actually managed to wrap your head around what the Vjescc was saying, you’d see exactly how that nasty little hiccup gets neutralized once and for all.
And honestly, that’s on all of us to fix.
To put it in plain English: stop stressing yourself out over nothing and quit giving yourself an ulcer.
