2013 Car Reveal & Winter Testing Kickoff in Formula 1 ·
darkmarlin16 said:It’s April again, and honestly, I’m just sitting here hoping their end-of-season results actually match up with how they looked last year. I mean, come on, let's just aim high—let them grab that 2nd place spot in the Constructors' Championship and leave Coca-Cola in the dust.

It seems the season hasn't even kicked off yet, and you're already getting under my skin—really. I hope you find some inner peace... or perhaps a more feminine side to lean into. 👍

OK. (🙂)

Having posts removed will actually be a win for more constructive discussions.
Yes We Can! 🙂

Man, you really let me down. Are you actually looking for trouble?
This championship isn't some official production—after all, there's no major organization backing it. It’s really just a game played by us users. Please, could you look into updating the rules?
Terry Carter2 said:Just a reminder!

Are you being serious right now? Honestly—look around. Everyone is losing their minds over the championship, no matter how much you try to stay composed... just let it go.🤷
William Bennett53 said:In all seriousness, you are easily one of the top contributors on this entire board—one of those few users I actually respect. So, if you're truly looking for a permanent ban, go find someone else to bother. 🙏 😁

I told you—it sounds like quite a challenge 😁
William Bennett53 said:cosmicridge5, you should definitely vote for the option that imposes financial penalties for dropping out mid-season. That way, you might actually force redheron12 to stick with the championship even after he hits that first inevitable slump once the season kicks off. Of course, there’s no guarantee it would work and he could still bail, but at least then—in the spirit of gender equality—we could view his penalty payments as a form of forum alimony. 😁 🤣

Ethan Jones5, are you planning to vote for yourself, or are you waiting until the other players and candidates have made their moves?

Now you've gone and provoked me. A Permaban on redheron12, please. If you won't do it, I'll just have to make it my mission to push you toward a perm 😁

mistybear87 said:Which of my "replacements" among the moderators has stayed on long enough to actually gain the experience needed to run the PDF independently? None of them.

On another note, just so everyone can rest easy, I’ve already announced my departure (which William Bennett53 and Terry Carter2 can vouch for). It doesn't matter exactly when—it will be soon enough.
Furthermore, when I first mentioned leaving, one of the moderators reacted by asking, "You must be joking?" That tells you everything you need to know about how great an idea it is to leave "the very moment a new moderator is found."

And as for the Creator, please, enlighten us: what exactly did I censor, and when? The threads on the Formula 1 PDF are absolutely riddled with attacks on the Creator and various commenters, yet nothing has been deleted or censored.

Don't mistake the animosity of other users on Reddit for your own. 😉

You know what they say—a fool's promise is often nothing but a fleeting joy—but when it comes to the Creator, there was definitely some serious censorship involved back when that whole mess erupted between Štetner and Jergović. 🤷

Don't go mixing up your personal grudge against an individual with your frustration toward the moderator—it’s really two different things. 😉

Setting that aside for a moment—if you're running this team, and especially now that the moderator who banned Jason Campbell70 has moved on—why not let the new moderators decide his fate themselves?

mistybear87 said:FYI, instead of TBF1D, the moderator is now William Bennett53, and I doubt you'll see TBF1D popping up around here much longer.
TBF1D has stepped away from the Reddit community due to some private matters, which he already addressed over in the moderator section (though, really, it’s none of your business).

As far as I'm concerned, I've mostly been ignoring this thread because everything that needed to be said has already been said.
But, since I don't want to leave you hanging, let's talk about quoting. There is a massive difference between me quoting an entire sentence or a complete thought to respond to it, and you cherry-picking a single phrase or fragment out of context. You seem to do that quite often, usually when something doesn't suit your narrative or simply to stir the pot.

And just to clear things up for you: there aren't any specific rules regarding how partial quotes are handled, so please stop splitting hairs. The moderators made a suggestion, the super-moderators signed off on it, and that's the end of it.

You're really grasping at straws here. Honestly...

I don't see how you have any standing to chime in at all—considering you're a contributor and a mod over at a rival forum and news site, you've abused your mod powers multiple times, and your standards are totally inconsistent. You call one thing ridiculous but label "mixed heritage" as racism; you hand out warnings for using certain slang while simultaneously calling your own interlocutors "brainless idiots." Don't give me that—you censor any discussion about the Creator or Štetner, and so on, and so forth. Honestly, all the chaos on this subforum started when you began those senseless bans and thread closures under the excuse of "the mod is always right." If there is any animosity from users toward the moderation team, it's primarily directed at you.

It’s honestly tragic that the administration has rotated through at least five potentially good mods—all under your watch—even though you've mentioned several times that you'd leave as soon as they found someone else.🤷

Let's take a quick look back at the record:

So, I really don't understand why you're even showing up, let alone why you're defending Jason Campbell70's nonsense regarding partial quotes.
One of my teammates just quit on me—so now I'm really questioning if I’ll be playing next season at all. Still, am I allowed to cast my vote?

Good grief...

You all seem to be swinging from one extreme to the other—discussing a specific driver's tactics isn't actually a massive issue. These drivers aren't saints, after all, so criticizing a particular move shouldn't be off-limits. If this turns into mindless trolling, though, just move it to the chat and call it a day...

What really gets under my skin is the blatant insults—calling people idiots, morons, or worse. Then there's the gloating whenever someone makes a mistake or spins out... that’s what should be sanctioned.

As for those wishing for someone to crash or wreck their car—that should be an immediate ban. I'll never forget when Ayrton Senna passed away. My first gut reaction to seeing a driver spin back then was "yes!"—simply because it meant the McLaren was headed for the podium. Looking back today, given how everything ended, that feeling stays with me as a bit of a dark thought.😢
Edward Howard2 Asks:
I’d suggest we find some way to let those competitors vote if they can't access the PDF during the election—perhaps by letting them weigh in on the F1 topic over on the OFF forum.
Regarding the other options—I honestly think the fairest approach would be to grant voting rights to anyone who has actually competed in any capacity over the last four seasons—meaning anyone who stepped onto the track for even a single race in the SL or any tournament. Of course, we’d need safeguards against bot accounts and those people who promise they'll show up next year but have never actually participated—we all know there will be folks who click a name without intending to compete, which just leaves us having to manually recount everything at the end. The only exception should be candidates like asdfg5 and bambus17; since they haven't competed yet but are running for leadership, they should be allowed to cast their own votes if they choose to. 😁

The winner is ultimately whoever manages to win over Maminh—with that many clones running around, they could probably take on the entire Republican Party and their dead voters combined, let alone everyone else on this forum. 👍

Today was likely the deciding race—the energy in this thread was so intense I actually thought it was being broadcast this afternoon.

I can't tell if that's because they raced this morning or if it's just the atmosphere here on the subforum.

The mods should really be staying on top of things—facilitating discussions, keeping threads organized, and filtering out the spam and mindless fanboying... basically everything needed to keep a community healthy. Instead, it feels like all they do is hand out warnings. Sometimes those calls are fair, but other times it seems like they just don't get the context—or won't bother to—and it often feels more like an ego trip or a power move.

Look, I get where they're coming from—the forum is so chaotic lately that even the casual users are getting frustrated, which probably puts them in the crosshairs too. I suspect it’s just easier to slap a warning on someone than to actually clean up the mess, especially when we're dealing with constant 503 errors every few seconds.

Formula 1 without Pila is... like a veggie burger—it's just missing the soul and the substance.

If the administration actually had any sense, they would have made him a permanent fixture for the fashion scene. Because, despite all his flaws, the man was principled—smart enough to never even need a lecture on what racism is.

He certainly wouldn't be putting up with this kind of nonsense today.
Matthew Young35 said:To be honest, I’m completely exhausted by all of this. If we don't see some drastic shifts in how moderation works and how trolling is handled, I'm done participating in these threads. It isn't an empty threat; 🤷, I know you're all preoccupied with whether I'll stick around or not, but I'm simply stating a fact.
It has become genuinely exhausting having to wade through mountains of legalistic jargon just to figure out if someone earned a single point more or less.
It's exhausting, my friend.

Tell me, though—how can I actually help you with any of this? If a permanent ban would make your time on the forum more pleasant...
Matthew Young35 said:Then by all means, carry on.
Without me.

Well, there will likely be a vote—just have a little confidence in yourself.😁
Matthew Young35 said:No, what we have now is pure anarchy.
And not the good kind.

Still, I’d take anarchy over a dictatorship any day... in every sense of the word.
Matthew Young35 said:Here are the most critical points from my proposal that I would like others to incorporate into their own rules.

4. The final standings shall be announced by the championship host or someone specifically authorized by them.

6. Transcribing results is permitted.

7. If a player is dissatisfied, they may lodge a complaint with the host. If the host stands by their decision, the player must either accept the ruling or withdraw from the competition. However, if they can gather more than half of the competitors to support their grievance, the host shall be removed from their position.

9. The HOST and the MODERATORS are responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the competition.

10. Rules are to be interpreted in good faith. Therefore, if anyone exploits a loophole to gain a scoring advantage or simply to troll for the sake of it, they will be ignored. Furthermore, moderators are encouraged to issue appropriate penalties in accordance with the site's anti-trolling policies.

Everything else is secondary.

In short... "get lost, because I'm the host"—which is basically what we already have.😁
Question for the TBF1D Moderator in Feedback & Suggestions ·
David Anderson72 said:Is there any administrator out there who could actually step in here? It seems like the moderator can't handle the blatant rule-breaking—or perhaps they just don't realize their own mistake. I'd love to hear what the admins think about this situation.

What part of this isn't clicking for you? This is Formula 1, not a football match—the rules are different, people act differently, and generally, there's less trash talk. But once someone targets a driver or a fellow forum member, the penalties start flying... I've already flagged this to the moderators myself, and I'm sure I'm not the only one—just so we're clear, it wasn't Michael Lee4.

And believe me—I am the last person who would ever want the mods doing me any favors by handing out penalties. 🤣
stormybadger8 said:Look, sorry, but I’m not interested in playing guessing games about what you're thinking or if you're actually going to race...
All I care about is whether you want to be in the poll and if you want to be the host.
Your plans regarding the championship? Literally don't matter to me.

To be honest, I couldn't care less if Jason Campbell70 decides to host or not. It's just the rest of the discussion that keeps me reading. 🤷

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. 🤣
Matthew Young35 said:Since I was mentioned, I figured I should weigh in.
I have absolutely no intention of participating as long as a small handful of people are allowed to spend their time nitpicking the rulebook and trolling everyone else just for the sake of it. It’s pretty obvious who we’re talking about.
Honestly, it has become exhausting.
Until that dynamic changes, you won't see me among the competitors—and if history is any indication, many others will be staying away too.

Accusations of trolling or mindless rule-lawyering are all too often used as an excuse when someone lacks any actual, coherent argument. To me, the "because I'm the host" defense sounds much worse—and nothing is more frustrating than seeing people hide behind moderator authority...

Personally, I find looking for loopholes in the rules to be fun—after all, even in Formula 1, teams constantly push the boundaries of regulations and specs—but it stops being fun when someone tries to force their own agenda through sheer intimidation. Using moderator powers as a hammer is, quite frankly, a form of bullying.
