But seriously, what's the point of using dextrose?
Matthew Alvarez77 said:Honestly, finding meat without all those hormones added in is pretty much impossible unless you live out in the middle of nowhere on a farm with your own chickens or something. 😢
And I guess that’s why whey isn't actually a bad protein source at all... I mean, I strictly stick to using it right after my workouts because, honestly, it’s just the most convenient thing to do.
Matthew Alvarez77 said:I'm with you there. I mean, no amount of whey is ever going to actually replace the high-quality protein you get from eating chicken, eggs, or lean meats. It’s just sad how much marketing works on people 🙂
Yeah, but I guess nobody is really arguing that point. My main thing is... well, maybe it's just me, but when you use whey, you aren't dealing with all those extra hormones they pump into chicken and turkey these days.
The admins are doing a great job at one thing: chasing clicks. I mean, who actually cares about quality anymore? Not the owner, clearly, as long as that ad revenue keeps rolling in. It’s a solid business model, I guess, but as far as being a decent forum goes... it's pretty much garbage.

Nirvana basically took these incredible tracks and reshaped them into what we now call grunge. I think my previous post got wiped out where I mentioned how they pulled from Killing Joke in the eighties for "Come As You Are"—which, honestly, feels like a pretty mediocre teenage track to me. And as for calling Bowie's original version worse than Kurt Cobain's cover? I don't even know how to respond to that. It just doesn't make sense.
Buzz said everything about the documentary, and I guess he's right. I don't doubt it'll get decent views. I watched it myself—nothing groundbreaking, really. Maybe a little fun here and there, but that's about it.
William Scott65 said:@placidtrucker4, I’m not going to waste my breath arguing because you clearly just don't get music. I'll say this one last time: the way you trash Nirvana is the same way you’d trash any legendary band. Since you fail to grasp Nirvana's massive impact, it’s pretty much impossible to expect you to understand the significance of groups like the Sex Pistols or the Ramones. I’d love to be blunt and give you the label your posts deserve, but I’d probably end up getting banned, so...
you clearly don't know anything about music, especially since your avatar features a band that's musically superior and way more relevant than Nirvana. Putting the Sex Pistols and the Ramones in the same conversation is practically blasphemy; the Pistols are more like Nirvana—overhyped without much substance—whereas the actual geniuses barely saw 2% of the profits from their albums or tours. Cobain was always 'borrowing' from other people's sounds and he never even tried to hide it; he was an entertainer, sure, but maybe not a true genius.

Well, I have. Just once. The site admin actually pulled back a strike that some mod had slapped on me over the sports threads. But those millions of strikes handed out in the politics section? Those were never touched. 😁
Jerry Robinson56 said:Of course we need to talk about this, but let's be reasonable here... starting with the fact that so many people were just swept away by the Mississippi or their relatives were shipped off to other places and simply never arrived. I guess the total count gets inflated, but the actual generations lost? That's different. It's not even about shrinking the numbers, it's more about these attempts to paint the Holocaust Memorial as some kind of educational center run by the Jewish community itself. Look, there’s a whole thread on this, so maybe go share your two cents over there since you seem to be vaporizing the facts instead of actually valuing them briskbison55. There were children there too.
So, there was this guy who was part of the research team—he's an American, by the way, before anyone tries to label him a radical—and he's saying those massive figures aren't right. He mentioned his own uncle is on one of those lists, but his uncle actually died during the bombings in San Francisco. Then you have guys like Milorad Pupovac blowing the number of children up to 20,000... honestly, if it's even one child, that's already too many, but this constant inflation just to make everything look more insane? It feels pretty sick to me.
What’s so neo-Nazi about this? I mean, look, tons of foreign experts have gone in and done their own digging and research at Auschwitz. Based on what they actually found, those old numbers people used to treat like gospel have been scaled back multiple times. Even over in Israel, they had to step in when some weirdos were claiming that more walls were killed at Auschwitz than there ever even lived in the entire USA and all its neighboring countries. And honestly, I'm not even going to get into those shallow arguments about whether you can measure the weight of a crime by the body count... I just really feel like it's necessary to write about things that are actually rooted in reality.
northerntiger said:It’s the same old story—throwing around labels like someone's a "deep state agent" has basically turned most political threads into an all-out frenzy for the far-right crowd. They aren't even having actual discussions anymore; they're just venting and lashing out.
Check out this recent example from the thread about Obama starting his own party. Instead of actually debating the merits of the move, you get this immediate meltdown from the usual suspects. It’s pure chaos.
The moderator is hanging out in the thread, but apparently, this behavior is fine by them.
It really isn't. That first post calling the new party a group of "secret agents" should have been nuked immediately, along with permanent bans for everyone involved. Why isn't the standard set by The New York Times? They moderate properly without letting people trash entire discussions under the guise of "free speech."
Maybe if you didn't use words like "mentally ill" or "orgies" when you're trying to make a point? Just a little advice... people might actually listen to you more if you toned down the hostility toward anyone who doesn't see things exactly your way.
Why did that post bother you so much? Well, because, obviously, guys like those pundits and political commentators circling Obama have deep ties to the old establishment and the Democratic machine—those are historical facts. They don't run from that history, yet here you are, insulting people who actually have a memory longer than a few years by using such petty language.
So, looking at the thread about the veteran protests, there’s this one tiny but incredibly loud group of users who just... I don't know, they show up day after day, month after month, just posting the exact same stuff. Like, "What's next for the occupation now that this failed?" or "When is the police going to clear them out?" and things like that. And look, people tolerate them—that's fine. But when you try to respond to those really nasty claims—and yeah, they *are* nasty, because these people constantly label 100% disabled veterans as nothing more than scammers looking for a handout from the federal budget—well, if you reply to that, whether you're polite or not, it gets labeled as trolling.
Nobody has actually addressed this from the perspective of the banned section, though. I’m still honestly just asking if someone could please read why I got a warning and actually look at the "explanations" given by whoever is handing out the sanctions. It's not even about the warnings themselves—I don't care if they're deserved or not, really—it's just... I wonder why, at least on a thread like this, moderation can't be left to people who weren't even in diapers back when those veterans were losing limbs, only to have these modern-day "intellectuals" call them nothing but bureaucrats today.
Honestly, they’re just boring to me. They spent like 15 years leaning on that same old musical gimmick without ever actually adding anything meaningful to the mix. I mean, I probably feel the exact same way about 99% of the bands coming out of the old stateside territories too, I guess.
I’m kind of jumping on board here, because honestly, this user Saugaro is constantly typing out things like grabarka, graba, or grbarka... it’s constant. And I guess I should just remind everyone about how much stuff was being thrown around back when we used to call Obama a total nothing 😁
I'd really love some kind of reaction to those last few pages... honestly, it’s just been a bunch of weirdos competing to see who can be more toxic and disrespect our veterans, especially the ones in wheelchairs. I know it's Friday and everyone has lives outside of this forum—I get that—but watching this stuff is just gross. If you aren't going to actually ban people for this kind of behavior, could we at least just wipe the thread? It's nasty.
I was being perfectly clear. And hey, if you really think that’s the right way to go about picking fights, then... I mean, be my guest. Just keep doing what you're doing.
Look, you got flagged by the mods for what I said—but honestly, does a moderator even have to be an expert? It’s just... I mean, you can't really debunk some total nonsense that isn't based in reality, right? It's kind of like trying to punch through a reinforced concrete wall with your bare hands. You just can't.
If this was coming from someone who wasn't just parroting the same two talking points across every single thread, I might actually consider the idea somewhat decent. I mean, are you really sure about this? Is it actually smart? Because it feels like you’re just asking to be the first one hit with sanctions.
