Lyrica usage and experiences in Health ·
Hey everyone, is anyone else dealing with side effects from Lyrica?
I just started my second day on it, but honestly, I feel as sluggish as an elephant in mud.

Hey everyone, any get-togethers happening in NYC lately? If not, I’d love to be looped in on the next one 🍿

I’m feeling pretty devastated right now—honestly, a bit shaken up, too. He was one of my absolute favorite actors. There was this specific sense of calm he brought to the screen, a kind of steady presence I’ve really only ever felt from De Niro. I’ll always remember him for his work in Magnolia, 25th Hour, Ripley, Mahoney, and Boogie Nights.
Harrison Ford in Movies ·
He basically embodied two of the coolest characters ever put on screen—honestly, what else is there to say?

At this rate, he’ll probably end up directing a Blade Runner remake next.🤣

Chris Kim7 said:Thanks, feralstag72, you've given me a bit of hope here 😁

My doctor is on vacation right now, and she just wrote me a prescription for the q-tab, so I can't change anything until she gets back. I have no idea why she put me on the long-acting version 🤷 I'm taking 15 mg. I get those headaches too, but they aren't too bad. Today, I don't feel overly sedated.

Insomnia is my biggest hurdle. My appetite is fine and my weight is stable, so I just hope I don't start packing on the pounds.

Normabel doesn't really do much for me, maybe it would work better in this combo, but I'm not touching my Clonazepam without talking to my doctor first.

Thanks again for reaching out! 🙂

NO NO NO, absolutely not the q-tab!!! You don't need that, especially since it's extended-release. That just means you won't feel the hit immediately when you take it, and the sedative effect is weaker compared to regular Remeron. Listen to me, go to the pharmacy and ask them for Calist. It's the exact same formula, so even if your script says q-tab, just explain the situation to them. You can trust me and take care of it yourself—nothing bad will happen. Calista hits faster and harder, which is exactly what you actually need!!!

I’ve been on 15mg of Mirtazapine—or Calixt, depending on how you look at it—for about four and a half years now. Honestly, it was what pulled me out of that deep depressive rut I was stuck in back in early 2010. For me, the main issues were that total lack of drive, feeling completely lifeless, and having zero appetite. I cycled through a thousand different medications before finding this one. As far as sleep goes, if I take it about an hour before bed, it hits me pretty hard and knocks me right out. I’m not sure how high your dosage is, but you could probably bump up the milligrams a bit if you need more sedation. It definitely kicked my appetite back into gear, too. Personally, I felt the effects almost immediately. The only side effect I dealt with was some intense headaches when I tried stepping up to 30mg, so I dialed it back down to 15mg. Anyway, talk to your doctor first, but maybe try increasing the dose slightly. You could even pair it with a little Norvasc to help stay calm, though Mirtazapine itself is already pretty sedative and calming. I usually wake up feeling normal in the morning and don't feel groggy during the day. Just a heads up: I wouldn't recommend the Remeron q-tab because it lasts way too long and leaves you feeling totally drugged all day long.

Jason Vaughn482 said:I personally tried the 15 mg Q-Tabs, but they did absolutely nothing for my anxiety—they only helped me sleep. Ultimately, I had to give them up because they contain aspartame, which I try to avoid. Now, if I’m really struggling to drift off despite taking Ambien, I’ll just take half of a 15 mg Calixte—which is essentially the exact same medication anyway.

The trick with those is the extended release—it doesn't knock you out fast enough, then you're left feeling like a zombie the next day.

I picked up some 15 mg Lipitor 20 mg from my psychiatrist today.

I switched from Mirzaten to the Mirzaten Q-Tab version and honestly, things have gone downhill since the change. Has anyone else dealt with this?

The ingredients are identical—it's just that the Q-Tab is designed for extended release.

Jason Vaughn482 said:What makes you say that? My therapist actually suggested I could, though I don't really do it—I just have about ten pills left over, so I'll toss one in here and there when sleep just won't come...
George Allen71 and I are kind of in the same boat—she’s just got her mom, and all I’ve got is my daughter. Aside from her, I don't really have any family—or rather, I just don't talk to them.

I think when my doctor offered me Zoloft, it was specifically because they told me I had to stop taking Mirtazapine—if I remember correctly, it wasn't an "either/or" situation, but more of a "one instead of the other" thing.

Jason Vaughn482 said:In my estimation, we are all essentially solitary figures in this struggle, regardless of who might be standing by our side in the family; it is a profound truth that no one can truly grasp the depth of another's experience unless they have walked that same dark path themselves. Even when we attempt to support one another, there is a disconnect—you may be grappling with the desire to vanish while I am desperately clinging to existence, my greatest fears being illness and mortality. For instance, I rarely find myself moved to tears, yet I am far from okay. I find it difficult to even step foot outside my house, not out of fear, per se, but because of a crushing sense of helplessness; I am perpetually exhausted, drained of all vitality, often setting ambitious plans for the next day only to watch them crumble before they even begin. To make matters worse, since I started taking Zoloft, everything seems to have taken a turn for the worse. I think I'll skip my dose today and see how I feel tomorrow... truthfully, the only moments of reprieve come when I manage to catch up on sleep and wake up feeling somewhat rested, but solving this chronic insomnia feels like trying to catch smoke with my bare hands.

George Allen71 is essentially alone

And I'm not entirely sure if you're allowed to mix Zoloft and Mirtazapine—you really shouldn't be doing that anymore.
Henry Campbell5 said:I’m not talking about prison in general—I mean specifically >. Even the title itself feels a bit pathetic. And that whole dynamic where they act all sad when he gets framed, then suddenly happy when he sets up Morgan? I know the movie doesn't show it explicitly, but how else would a cold-blooded killer feel about him?

Wait, what?😕

Larry Lewis said:Look, you're sick just like most of us on here. Illness doesn't pick favorites. It might sound harsh, but you're spending far too much time weeping over your own situation, and that isn't going to get you anywhere.
I respect that you're ill and I know it's hard, but wallowing in self-pity brings nothing good to the table—and I'm telling you that from my own life experience.
Sorry, but I had to say it, because whenever I read your posts, it's just constant complaining and self-pity.

Can people with mental health struggles be good parents? in Psychology & Therapy ·
In any relationship, we basically just project whatever baggage we’re carrying inside

And honestly, it's the same story with kids.

In principle, yeah—if the parents are struggling with serious mental health issues, that’s going to bleed into how they raise their children.

That’s why we end up with so many broken people in this world; you can't ignore the fact that parents carry a huge chunk of the blame.

Fear isn't something you're born with—it's something you pick up during childhood.

Hey, Rosie

Just one more thing for you

Technically speaking—and this goes for actual psychiatric standards too—an "attempted suicide" via pills isn't even classified as a true suicide attempt in the medical books.
If there’s a psychiatrist lurking in this thread, do me a favor and weigh in—because you aren't going to get any actual wisdom from us mere mortals.

slybison45 said:People here aren't really looking to hear that kind of thing, so I don't think it's even worth arguing about... plus, imagine ending up in a psych ward and trying to tell them you don't need medication. Just look at how Jack ends up in that classic movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on ABC... he was a rebel against the whole system, insisting he was perfectly fine, and well, we all know how that turned out

I'm not sure which part of my post went over your head.

I personally know plenty of people—and I've seen enough cases—where panic attacks and anxiety were managed solely through solid psychotherapy without any meds.

I also realize that for some folks, life just isn't manageable without pills.

But I also know that the first thing they'll do when you show up at a mental health facility is pump you full of drugs—basically treating you like a lab rat because they aren't actually equipped to handle anything else.
