Maybe they just shut down because they're trying to distance themselves from that person, or maybe the person is just getting on their last nerve..
😉

Man, what did I even say?!

any idea why some people act like that?

thx 😘

I mean, maybe they're just super friendly with everyone initially, but once they actually get to know someone and realize that person is a total jerk (like, seriously, a complete tool), they just shut down.
wearyowl29, you’re acting like a total loose cannon here—just pure chaos!
I mean, seriously, how on earth did you end up thinking that "old school" parenting—you know, like keeping kids quiet at the dinner table or banning phones and TV—is somehow outdated?! I’m actually dying to hear your logic on this...
Old-school parenting is still the absolute gold standard if you ask me! It builds those core traits in a person that actually matter for making it in life.
I honestly feel like how you're raised and the whole environment you grow up in is still everything when it comes to who you become as an individual.

I'm basically just winging it through life one day at a time!

Man, I really thought this thread would blow up more than it did! What happened? Did everyone suddenly become perfectly well-adjusted overnight or something?!?!?! It’s always the same thing at first—everyone’s all over the place shouting "I have this" and "I have that"—and then, boom, total radio silence. Like everyone’s living in some flawless, utopian version of America where everything just makes sense... Come on, guys, just open up a little. Seriously, it’s way easier once you start talking, and we could actually learn from each other's stories! Or am I just shouting into the void here?

Does anyone else just... worry about gallstones? Like, all the time?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that any movie—even if it isn't exactly "groundbreaking"—can totally win you over if it's just pure and innocent enough...
HIV/AIDS in Health ·
Walter Garcia53, good to see you popping up somewhere other than the "Auto Enthusiasts" forums!

The fact that she was bleeding definitely bumps up the risk of catching something. But then again, if the blood didn't actually "get in"—like, it just touched your skin and there weren't any cuts or anything—then I guess you can lean into that feeling of relief.
And about condoms... honestly, I don't think they're ever 100% foolproof, and I don't mean that like some shady legal loophole manufacturers use to dodge blame. I mean, I know plenty of people who used protection and still ended up dealing with something after nine months. If you can catch a pregnancy from a condom, you can catch anything else too...

Look, my gut says our "hero" didn't get infected, BUT TESTING IS NON-NEGOTIABLE!

Man, you aren't kidding! Generally speaking, American films—whether they're great, terrible, or just "meh"—just lack the marketing muscle. People, especially here in the States, don't even realize what kind of filmography we have. The only ones showing up to the theaters are kids, or maybe the slightly older crowd who actually know what an MP3 player is!

So what? Is Ivy actually Oscar material or what?!
HIV/AIDS in Health ·
So, yeah, you can totally catch an STI. Doesn't even matter if you used a condom or what. I mean, obviously, using one definitely lowers your chances, but...
I can't give you an exact percentage or anything because even the big-shot scientists at the CDC can't agree on the specific numbers 100% of the time. It's kind of a mess.
Also, just a heads up, if she's on her period, that actually does bump up the risk factor...

I don't know, I'm kind of leaning towards saying that if someone doesn't appreciate what they have while they've actually got it, they aren't really going to value it once it's gone either. Sure, maybe they'll go ahead and bash their head against a wall thinking, "Man, how did I miss that?" but honestly... deep down, even with the regret, that person still just doesn't get it. They're still totally clueless.
The Plaza Hotel in Movies ·
Man, "The Plaza Hotel" is such a fantastic movie! Wim Wenders really knows how to work his magic behind the camera, and honestly, Mel Gibson totally crushed it here—he proved he can handle much heavier, more complex roles that might be a little harder for a casual viewer to wrap their head around!
Red Dragon in Movies ·
Honestly, all three of those movies about Hannibal Lecter are absolute masterpieces! Adding Red Dragon just rounds out an incredible trilogy perfectly!
