LOL, honestly though, people are human specifically because we aren't part of the Animal Kingdom... I don't even know what kind of shallow psycho would say that...
mistyranger42 said:God, guys, what really gets to me is how everything I find online about schizophrenia always points back to one thing: if you’re having hallucinations where you hear people talking about you, they just label it schizophrenia right away. They list all these symptoms, blah blah blah, but if you have that specific one, they say, "Yep, it's schizophrenia." Right now, I'm not actually hearing full conversations, but I used to—now it's just... sounds, I guess. Another thing that's weighing on me is that I'm way too focused on myself. I think I'm OVERTHINKING EVERYTHING AND NOT DOING ENOUGH, so I'm scared things won't turn out okay... It's just so hard to motivate myself to take on work. Usually, once I'm actually working, I don't feel this way, but MAN, IT'S SO HARD TO JUST GET STARTED.
Maybe try working out a bit? You could do some push-ups, sit-ups, squats... stuff at home... or maybe find something to do outside... Just something to physically tire you out... It might help you focus better on what you actually need to get done... Like, even just walking for 20 or 30 minutes straight can help your concentration... Maybe that'll give you enough headspace to stay focused on your tasks for a little while...
So, my trick after shaving is splashing my face with the coldest water I can find, just to really chill out the skin 😁 Then I go ahead and apply some ointment 😁
So, I’ve got this one issue that isn't exactly easy to explain... For years now, doctors have been flagging my high bilirubin levels. After I spend a few days being super careful with what I eat and taking it easy physically, they find my bilirubin sitting at 35 (when the max is supposed to be 20). It really gets to me when I think about how high it probably climbs during those stretches where I'm pushing myself too hard physically and—let's be honest—eating whatever I want. But even when I'm actually trying to be good, my "body rhythm" just feels totally off...
The reason I'm starting this thread... is mainly because I want to hear from anyone else dealing with Gilbert's syndrome. How do you guys actually live with it?
I mean, there are days where I am just completely wiped out... totally dead. All I can do is lie there, and even that feels like work sometimes. Thinking? Walking? Zero chance. It’s honestly pretty tough for me to deal with, especially since I've got studying to do, and I really do love staying active.
If I want to stay even remotely "in shape," I have to be incredibly strict with my diet. Which is freaking hard... partly because I genuinely love food and just enjoying a good meal 😉 As for exercise, it's hit or miss depending on the day. Even if I eat right for "activity days," I usually end up crashing straight into bed afterward. I can't even imagine being one of those people who goes for a morning run and then feels "refreshed" for the rest of the day. For me, before that crash hits, I'm basically useless for the whole day...
The worst part is my primary care doctor just brushes it off. He’s like, "Oh, that high bilirubin? It's nothing. You're just imagining things, probably just some passing depression..."
So, I finally grabbed ZWCAD. Just finished cleaning up all my Layers, too. Man, what a slog... barely 30-something MB, but it took me over two hours just to get it all sorted out.
So, I’ve got this project I need to knock out in AutoCAD. It's basically some practice assignment for my mechanical engineering course over at Jack at Zion.😁
It's just some basic part with a few symmetries, dimensions, hatching, all that good stuff... The catch is, I don't actually have AutoCAD installed. So, I've got a few questions for anyone—anyone at all—who might be willing to help me out...🙄
Since my internet speed is absolute garbage right now, and I really wanted to get this exercise done over the break using some kind of CAD software, what would you guys recommend instead of AutoCAD? Like, what tools should I be looking at?! The newer Autodesk's versions are massive—way too many megabytes for me to try and download on this 56K modem setup. I was thinking maybe an older version of AutoCAD... like the 2000 version, or even something older than that... just something I could actually pull down in an hour or two without losing my mind...
If I were to go after some other program (maybe something free or open source) that's a smaller file size, it really needs to support AutoCAD files—you know, so I can "save as" and actually open them in AutoCAD later. Plus, it needs to recognize the templates I'll need to grab from the web for "AutoCAD."
Man, I've rambled on quite a bit here. Hope I haven't lost the plot entirely... I honestly don't know the first thing about AutoCAD, and I don't even have the software on my computer yet... Since the campus Wi-Fi is totally dead during the holidays, I'm basically stranded out here in the wilderness... Help a guy out.👍
I don't even know how to start this... just kind of staring at the screen, thinking about how everything feels so heavy lately. It’s like, you wake up and there's just this weight on your chest, you know? Like that feeling when you realize you forgot something huge, but you can't quite remember what it is. Just a constant, low-level hum of anxiety. I was sitting here with my coffee—burnt, obviously, because I'm a disaster in the kitchen—just wondering if anyone else feels this weirdly disconnected from everything. Like we're all just playing parts in some movie we didn't audition for. Anyway, sorry. I'm rambling. Just one of those days where my brain won't shut up. I can't even begin to explain this... honestly. It’s just one of those things where you look back and realize how much you missed. Like, really missed. I was thinking about it earlier—just sitting there, staring at the wall, you know? And it hit me. Everything feels different now. It's weird. A little overwhelming, maybe? But yeah. Anyway, what was I saying? Right. Just... wow. So, since we’re already talking about belly buttons... why is it that some people have one that looks like a little little pit, while others have one that's basically just a weird, protruding knot? What does that even depend on? Like, what's the actual deciding factor here?🤔
It really just depends on what kind of mood Grandma was in that day.🤣
19, we're talking about one hand here... I can't really give you an answer on what kind of pain we're dealing with, since it's not even my own issue...
So, what would it actually feel like if you had this weird, nagging pain shooting all the way down your arm... If I had to put words to it, it’s like... my veins are just throbbing or aching deep inside... The thing is, the pain travels through the whole arm, and it won't let up for days. Then, after a few days of feeling okay, it just comes crashing back again...
Since I know I was being pretty vague there, I was wondering if anyone here could share their own experiences with stuff like this...
I should probably mention too, just for context, that this is happening to a woman.😍
If you're messing around with a Linux based OSEv and it's acting all weird because it can't find your SATA drive during setup, you might want to try toggling that "Compatibility" setting in your BIOS under the SATA options. It's a little trick that sometimes clears things up.
I'm guessing Windows XP might get just as confused by the same thing.
So, I’ve got this birthmark, about 3cm by 2cm, right on the back of my neck. Had it since day one. But then, over this past summer, I noticed this weird little bump—kind of like a skin tag—starting to grow right out of the middle of it.
I went to see a dermatologist back in July, but honestly, he spent almost all his time obsessing over these two irregular moles in the center of my back instead. He basically told me if I was actually serious about getting anything removed, those two on my back were the priority. I mean, I’ve always had a ton of moles all over, though.
It just feels super sketchy to me how he didn't give much thought to this 2cm x 3cm thing that's literally growing something new... He just brushed it off, saying it looked inflamed and that I should probably stay out of the sun more. He also mentioned that removing a mole that size isn't easy. Like, seriously, how hard can it actually be to get a mole that big taken out?! Any advice or thoughts? What do you guys think?
So, apparently, there’s proof that people living with Schizophrenia actually have a higher average IQ than the rest of us. Which basically means if you're dealing with this "malicious" illness, you might actually have a better shot at being on the smarter side of things...
I mean, we haven't really seen enough studies on other disorders to say for sure if psychiatric patients in general have a higher chance of having a massive IQ or whatever.
But I guess you could argue that someone who’s more sensitive to all the "sins" of the modern world—someone whose senses are just dialed up way too high to all the "noise and visuals," you know, like someone struggling with anxiety—might end up with a higher IQ than the average person out there...
Though, you gotta be careful with that line of thinking... because having a higher IQ in "potential psych cases" can sometimes JUST act as a catalyst that makes a disorder or an illness show up even faster.
Ronald Lopez3 said:Nah, I wasn't even at a hospital. I went to this private specialist in Chicago. You just show up for a consultation, and then you guys hash out the details—like when and how they’re actually gonna do it. Basically, once he checks you out, he tells you what the plan is. The first day was just the exam, and then he hooked up the IVs and put those little rubber bands on them to cut off the blood flow. The second day, he basically burned them away... honestly, I don't even know a better way to put it. "Burned" feels like the most accurate word. Then comes the part where they have to, you know, die off. It’s brutal because you still have to deal with normal bathroom trips every single day (you need things to stay pretty consistent—not too hard, but not like diarrhea either), and everything you're passing is just... painful. It's a lot.
If there's anything else you wanna know, just ask!!!
Seriously, props to you for getting through that.👍 Now you can handle pretty much anything life throws at you.🙂
David Miller15 said:I was just asking for the WORD to start forming SENTENCES from its own "head." Not based on some made-up science or a fictional god who doesn't even distinguish between GOOD and EVIL😲 😢
But look, now I’m sitting here wondering, "Why would God kick us out of Eden if He can't tell good from evil?!" But hey, you don't believe in God, so I guess it doesn't matter.
And another thing, I'll say it again... Sin is an insult to God. That's a Christian concept. If you don't believe in the Holy Word, I don't really get why you're even bothering to ask stuff like "what is sin" anyway.
Look, I know what sin is. And I know a few other things about sins and God, too. But the point is, it's about what I believe and what I *want* to believe—and honestly, I know from experience that this is the right path.
Man, it's like everyone watching just doesn't see it. You're the same way. You can claim the Church is just a bunch of "sheep" or that God is just too invented to make sense of certain things. But the bottom line is, there are people out there who actually see that something is "there." And they live in that truth—they've felt it.
Anyway, it's pretty hard for me to explain any of this to you, mostly because maybe you just don't want to know.🙂
Look, if you really want to wrap your head around what sin actually is, there are a few things you gotta get straight first. God made the angels. But one of them decided he didn't want anything to do with God, and that's why he's known as zlo. He goes by a lot of different names, too. Then God made Man to live in Paradise—this perfect place He set up for us. Just meant for us to multiply, live life, and enjoy ourselves. There was just one rule, one thing not to do: don't eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. But zlo talked Eve and Adam into sinning. So, basically, sin is just a word for insulting God—who is the ultimate, most beloved good—but it’s also an insult to what a human being is at their core... to our very nature. Once they took that bite from the tree of knowledge of good and evil... well, things happened. Stuff we all wish hadn't occurred. I won't get into all the messy details here.
The point is: If we had just listened to the One who actually wants what's best for us, things would be great right now. We'd probably just be lounging around in the sun, totally carefree. But NO. We didn't want to listen to what was good for us. We wanted to be like God. We ate that knowledge, we hurt ourselves, we did exactly what zlo wanted, and now we're paying the price.
It’s totally possible that some pills you’re taking—maybe meds or even just certain supplements—are messing with your liver enzymes and making them spike.
Is your bilirubin level up too?
Honestly, there are people out there—at least according to what modern doctors tell us—who just walk around with elevated liver numbers as their baseline. It's just how they're wired, I guess.
Just... try not to take random meds or unnecessary pills if you don't have to, right? And maybe cut back on the soda and booze. Eat a ton of greens! Watch out for all that greasy takeout, margarine, and heavy fats. Stress is also a total killer for your liver. Your liver is basically a huge indicator of how your whole body is doing overall...
